Today’s entry of diy wedding cake cookies comes from Miss Popcorn!
~~~
I had two of my best girlfriends over to help me make about 70 units of cookie favours for my wedding. Each favour consisted of two bigger cookies and two smaller cookies stacked with icing between them to form mini wedding “cakes.”
We began with a shortbread cookie recipe taken, of all things, from the back of a corn starch box.
Daria went on a veritable DIY spree for her sister Mia’s wedding! Take a look at all of her colorful creations and vote for which you think is the best entry. You can also check out more crafty goodness and a couple more wedding projects not included here on her blog. ![]()
Next up in the DIY project contest is Andrea, with the adorable charms that she made for her bridesmaids:
We previously featured Melissa’s diy cake toppers inspired by the ones from Patch NYC, and now she’s submitting them and her save the dates into the diy contest!
Our next contestant is Brook, who’s making wine bottle centerpieces, wine label table cards, and wine cork place cards. Each table at her reception will be represented by a wine. Check it out!
For this project, I collected various sized wine bottles, along with other small bottles to create centerpieces. Each table will have 3-4 bottles of various sizes and colors. To prepare the wine bottles, I had to soak them in warm soapy water for about 24-48 hours. This helps to remove the labels much easier. Then I scrapped the labels using a razor blade. Once this was done I did 2 mock up trials- one with my own garden flowers and a second time with Costco flowers.
This next entry is a one of the bigger diy projects we’ve seen… Check out the balsa wood house that Jennifer and her architect fiance built to hold cards from guests!
Our next contestant in the DIY project contest is Tricia, with seven different entries! Check out all of her submissions below and then vote for your favorite.
Our next entry into the DIY project is from Vanessa, who, with the help of her artistic bridesmaid, made lovely watercolor invitations! You can see the ultimate product of the invitations on her knot bio.
Today’s diy project entry comes from Hapahaole. Check out her gorgeous cane paper tube invitations!
Last week, we announced our DIY project contest, and all this week we’ll be featuring some of the best submissions. On Friday, we’ll poll readers to determine the winner for the week, who’ll then go on to the semi-finals!
And now for today’s entry–Tanya’s beautiful silk-covered pocketfold invitations:
Last July we hosted a best DIY project contest, and we had so many awesome submissions, we had to host another one this year! Kelly sent in some amazingly creative projects, but her “through the years” table numbers were voted the winning submission overall by readers. You can see all of last year’s entries here.
So if you’ve got some diy skillz to showcase, send us pictures of your best diy wedding projects to guest@weddingbee.com. Multiple entries are welcome!
