I recently came upon the 2000 Dollar Wedding blog (thanks to a profile from Meg from A Practical Wedding). Sara and Matt are an amazing couple who were married last month in Colorado. They stuck to a strict budget of $2000 in order to keep the wedding planning focused on their goals and to save the money for a down payment on a house (which they moved to, from Colorado to Texas, two days after the wedding!). I have spent the last two days reading the entire archive, over 140 posts, and I feel so inspired. In their words:
Our quest to wrest our wedding from the hands of the Wedding Industrial Complex and make it our own (in a budget-minded, hand-crafted, eco-friendly way)

If you’re having a rustic wedding like we are, check out this beautiful inspiration board posted at Snippet and Ink yesterday.

I’m sure it comes as no surprise that I read a lot of wedding blogs. A LOT. I’m sure a lot of you (since you’re reading this wedding blog and all) share the same sentiment and slight addiction to all of the great wedding blogs out there.
When I first got engaged, I didn’t really know that wedding blogs existed. Actually, I still thought that blogs were just personal journals that people kept online for the world to read, and, to be honest, I thought the whole idea was a little creepy. I had NO IDEA about all of the amazing blogs out there geared towards brides-to-be, moms-to-be, designers, computer lovers, pop culture addicts, etc. etc. etc. I had no idea that this amazing wealth of informative and inspiring blogs was hiding in the depths of the internet until my sister-in-law introduced me to Weddingbee several months into my engagement, which in turn led me to the, oh, about 7 kajillion other blogs that currently fill out my Google Reader.

I’ve been loving a couple of wedding blogs recently, so I thought I’d share with the hive!
Weddingbee reader Deborah introduced me to Capture the Moment — a fantabulous craft blog run by Nicole Heady, the gal behind Papertrey Ink (an awesome craft store). Papertrey recently released a series of wedding related products, and Nicole used some them to create some great diy projects. Her blog is a must read and a constant source of craftacular inspiration!

The long wait has finally paid off… the reknown Michelle Rago has finally launched her blog. Not only will it be filled with great inspiration and ideas, but priceless advice.

I am certain it will become a very important wedding blog, so be sure to add it to your RSS reader. Good luck Michelle, and welcome to the blogging world! ![]()
When I first started wedding planning, I didn’t realize how important blogs would be to the process. But I’ve learned so much from reading the blogs of other brides and wedding industry professionals; they’re such a fantastic resource for inspiration, diy projects, and vendor suggestions/reviews.
I’ve recently noticed an increase in the number of wedding coordinators with blogs. It’s such a great idea– brides can learn more about the personal style of each coordinator, what kinds of weddings he/she works on, and who their favorite vendors are. Likewise, coordinators are able to reach a greater potential base of clients. Everyone wins! Here are a few of my favorite wedding coordinator blogs:

If you are planning a wedding, check out Blue Orchid Designs. Liene has been writing a series of posts called “30 Days to Plan a Wedding” and her tips cover every aspect of wedding planning. What should you consider when picking a venue? An officiant? Linens? This is honestly a public service that she is performing. From all of us trying to get our heads around this crazy wedding planning thing, thank you.
Though it’s been less than a month since The Bride’s Cafe first launched, it’s already one of my must read wedding blogs!
The talented woman behind it all is Richmond, VA based floral designer Janie Medley. In addition to a fabulous blog, Janie also has a gorgeous portfolio so don’t forget to check that out too! (PS - Miss Flamingo did her blog/logo design
)
Today Janie featured a stunning wedding photographed by the talented Jennifer Skog. I absolutely adore all the florals for this event! See more pics of the wedding day and the day after on Jennifer’s blog.
Abby from Style me Pretty has launched her Little Black Book . It’s basically a highly edited collection of wedding service providers recommended by her closest girlfriends, industry insiders and Style Me Pretty readers. What’s great is that each city has three hand-picked listings per category.
Over the next few months, Abby will be adding vendors to the cities listed, as well as adding a nice handful of new cities. Canadian cities are not part of the list just yet. So make a stop at Style Me Pretty and share your oh-so-fabulous… in hopes they will be next time around.
Snippet & Ink is a cool new blog that posts a themed inspiration board each day. Today’s board features images that invoke a Home For The Holidays theme. Check it out for a daily dose of visual inspiration!

I’d like to share some of the many blogs I read, because you never know where you’ll find wedding inspiration!
Let’s start off with something fun and silly that’s been cracking me up lately. Lolsecretz is a cross between Post Secret (where people anonymously confess their secrets on postcards) and Lolcats (where people combine a picture of a cat with funny, misspelled captions). Here are some of the wedding themed ones!

I recently discovered a wonderful new wedding blog via Perfect Bound called Oh Happy Blog! Written by event designer Danielle Gregory, the blog is chock full of inspirational eye candy. I’ve definitely added it to my list of must read wedding blogs!

My friend Rebecca has the scoop - floral design genius Preston Bailey has just started a blog! I had the opportunity to meet him at his book release party earlier this year, and he’s such a nice guy.

(oversized wedding bells he created for a recent wedding in the South of France)
I’ve bookmarked his site (or rather subbed to his rss feed) and can’t wait to see what he has in store!
Weddingbee reader Christine emailed us this morning to let us know that Darcy Miller, Editorial Director for MS Weddings, has recently started a MS Weddings blog.

I’m sure they’ll be sharing lots of great ideas, and hopefully some behind the scenes glimpses of MS Weddings Magazine! ![]()
I’ve been reading several great wedding blogs lately, so I thought I’d share! Check out:
When we first launched weddingbee back in February 2006 (and when I started my original wedding blog in September 2004), there weren’t that many wedding blogs out there. I’m ecstatic that so many great ones have been popping up. In the blogging world, more is certainly merrier.
Please let us know if you’ve been reading any great wedding blogs!
