I loved being engaged! It was so much fun - all the planning, all the pretty magazines. One of my favorite things to do as a bride was attend the Seattle Wedding Show. It’s that time of year again and the wedding show is this weekend! Here is all the info you need to go!

What an exciting day yesterday was. First off, I met with the Best Man and his girlfriend, Mona, for a lovely brunch at Merchant. Then, Best Man left us and Mona took me to the Billion Dollar Babes Sale where they have Amsale sample dresses on sale for around 1/2 off and up to 80% off! They also have a few veils as well!

…is what you’ll be enjoying if you sign up for the Four Seasons 2008 Wedding Fair in San Francisco. Ever since I went to the one earlier this year, I couldn’t wait to go to the next one. I was in heaven, let me tell you.
Ladies, I share with you my all time favorite Wedding Fair - you will not be disappointed! Register now for the best wedding fair you’ll ever attend, and if you see me, come say HI!

For all those Central Illinois brides out there (I know there are a few!), this Thursday is the second annual Bridal University in Champaign-Urbana.
This event brings together some of the area’s best vendors (including my photographer!) in an informative session on choosing vendors, making the most of each vendor and his/her services, and answering all those plaguing questions. There’s also a fashion show and creative workshops meant to “put the fun back in wedding planning.”
The event is taking place this Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Michelle’s Bridal in Urbana
If you’re feeling a little lost in the wedding plans, or need something to add the fun back in, come to Urbana for the night…. or you could always come to meet me! ![]()
It seemed innocent enough. Go to wedding show last weekend, enter contests, see if you win, and while you do that search for a florist or at least floral ideas. Right?
Apparently not.
Not even four hours after departing the wedding show I get a call from the show sponsor saying that I have won some toasting glasses and a hotel stay for two nights. Well hooray… oh wait.
Because then the kind lady says that to get these “prizes” Mr. Robin and I will have to show up at a cooking demonstration at this particular time (Monday night) and in this particular place (all the way across town). And the longer she talks the more it sounds like a timeshare presentation. Not that I am knocking them - when Mr. Robin and I were in Mazatlan pre-engagement, we went to an awesome timeshare presentation for a resort and received $150 in restaurant credit (to amazing gourment places) and $100 cash. Plus french toast!

Hi, Mrs. Bee,
Just wanted to let you know that my FI and I went to register at Bloomingdale’s on Saturday, and they gave us a complimentary pass to the Wedding Salon next week! If any of your readers are planning to register at Bloomingdales (or maybe already are, but haven’t stopped by in awhile), they should head over this week so they can get their awfully expensive tickets for freeee!

Admission for The Wedding Salon’s annual bridal show in New York is $125 for 2 people (they sell the tickets in pairs), but we just received a $50 off promotion with code PBNY07P.

This was the best bridal show I attended last year, so I’ll definitely be going again this year - I hope it’s just as great! Last year’s gift bag was valued at $500 and even included an All Clad Frying Pan… I hope they do a gift bag again this year! ![]()

Congrats to becky noel and Natalie who each won a weddingbee t-shirt in last Friday’s Celebrity Weddings contest!
Today we have a little contest for New York City brides. BFF Bridal, cohost of The Bendel Bride, has invited me and a guest to attend their “It’s All In the Details” event. The first person to email me at bee@weddingbee.com will get in for free, and we’ll throw in a weddingbee t-shirt too.
Update: Congrats to Crystal who won a t-shirt and will be joining me at the event!

On Sunday, Mr. Pearl and I attended A Soolip Wedding at Social Hollywood. We were both excited to go because we’d heard good things about Social from other friends who had been there. Since Mr. Pearl works a couple of blocks away, we parked at his work site lot and walked over. Good thing too, because the parking was valet only and there was a long line (more on that later).
One thing we both hate about wedding shows, and this was no exception, is the info sheet each place asks you to fill out. We just find it particularly intrusive that they ask about our household income. In any event…
Upon entering the building, we were given a tote bag from Sephora to lug around our show wares. Much better than the typical plastic bags that either break or cut into your hand at other brida shows! Servers on the first floor walked around bearing tray-passed goodies, courtesy of Social — sliders, hazelnut chocolate chip cookies, and a bunch of other yummies. There were other exhibitors on the first floor, including Red Loft Studios (the fabulous photographers who took pics at knottie WeezerMonkey’s wedding), BBJ Linen, and Jo Malone (who was advertising their orange blossom scent as *the* wedding scent). One of the exhibitors there was Linnae from Asiel Design, who is our florist. It was great to see her display her floral loveliness for everyone.
Oh, and they also served lunch. It was an inordinately long line (waits of about 45 minutes), but delish food! Also, the open bar served champagne, Pinky vodka drinks (one of the sponsors), water, etc.
