Bridesmaid’s Dresses with Sleeves

September 4th, 2009 @ 2:53 pm by Mrs. Glitter

I’m a big fan of dresses with sleeves (Didn’t know?… Check out my wedding dress). I think many strapless dresses are gorgeous, so absolutely no offense to them. But I was toying around with the idea of bridesmaid’s dresses with sleeves. Having a fall/winter wedding? Bridesmaids worried about revealing too much of their arms? Or you’re just interested in a look that is chic and…

My Girls’ Dresses - Part 2: BM Sister

September 3rd, 2009 @ 1:55 pm by Miss Poodle

The sewing frenzy is ON!

I figure that since I’m asking for your advice on the dress I’ll wear to “make it legal“, I should start on the pending projects I have in the sewing department so I can physically be able to sew my “other” dream dress.

If you remember, I showed you all my MOH’s dress not too long ago. After I posted about it…

I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Bridesmaids’ Dresses

August 31st, 2009 @ 10:34 am by Miss Frozen Yogurt

I’ve been searching for bridesmaids dresses for a while now. I went back and forth between colors that I wanted, and I finally decided on grey. Not boring grey though; they will all look gorgeous. I’m planning to let all the girls pick their own dresses. I want all my girls to feel and look their best. The good thing about choosing grey is that…

More Bridesmaid Color Decisions

August 28th, 2009 @ 3:47 pm by Miss Chick

I love how in this wedding, the bridesmaids' dresses are the same color as the bride's wedding gown, just shorter. This makes me feel better about perhaps picking light pewter as the BM dress color.

Aren't the light pewter shoes darling with the cream/white dresses, or what?! I never even thought of that color combination!

My Girls’ Dresses - Part 1: MOH

August 19th, 2009 @ 4:41 pm by Miss Poodle

Remember when I showed you all the inspiration dresses I found to show my girls, the trend I said I loved SO much, and the cards I made to re-ask them to be in my party? Well, in the cards, I sent them fabric samples so they could see the fabric I got on sale. It’s a really cute purple fabric, so sadly, I won’t…

The Trend I Love

August 10th, 2009 @ 1:34 pm by Miss Poodle

Here in Chile we don’t have the “bridesmaid” tradition. Instead, there’s only a Maid of Honor, called a “Madrina”. What a bummer!! One of the really cool things about mixing traditions for the wedding is that I’m having bridesmaids!! Yay!

But from the beginning, I never liked the idea of having them all dress the same. Plus, I’ve never liked to tell anyone how to dress.…

Inspiration for My Lovely Ladies

August 6th, 2009 @ 11:04 am by Mrs. Lightning

In the spirit of going against tradition, my lovely bridesmaids will be choosing their own dresses. They are all beautiful and unique, and as my friends, deserve to shine independently by my side.

With this concept in mind, I spent a great deal of time looking for dresses in possible accent colours to inspire them on their quest, but soon realised that there were just two many hues and fabrics for this to all go wrong.

A-Hunting They Will Go

July 24th, 2009 @ 1:23 pm by Mrs. Sunbeam

My bridesmaids are on the hunt for dresses! Early on I decided to have my ’maids choose their own dresses in various shades of the same color after seeing this image (above). I did this for many reasons, but most importantly I wanted them to wear a dress they loved, at a price they were comfortable with. Putting the swatch pile to good use, I sent snips of my favorite reds to them along with a few style guidelines using a Martha Stewart template. I also sent an email with a few suggestions to get them started.

Cute for the Ladies

July 23rd, 2009 @ 9:33 am by Miss Poodle

I’ve been researching for the girls' dresses, just to have some ideas, and to ask them about what they think they'll be comfortable for the wedding. My mom actually offered to make them, but I’m not planning 100% on that because I'm not sure how much time she will have available.

Here are the ones that caught my attention! (Just the shapes, not the colors.)

Frocks For My Friends

July 20th, 2009 @ 9:30 am by Mrs. Powder Puff

I’ve gotten a lot of questions and comments about my bridesmaids’ fabulous dresses, so I thought I’d take a quick little break from my recaps to let you know how that look all came together.

It was basically born out of laziness. I knew that I did not have the desire or the energy to pick out a dress for my girls that they would all…

Polka Dotted Bridesmaids

July 14th, 2009 @ 12:26 pm by Mrs. Star

Having a polka dot motif certainly opened us up to a lot of cool options for everything — from cake, to bow details, to pretty paper, to bridesmaid attire! The struggle for me has been to balance my concern about having too few polka dots versus having too many. The perfect polka dot balance is a tough one to strike.

So when I first started thinking…

I was born and raised in a small East Texas town, but I'm no country girl! I'm obsessed with British accents, fantasy (including Harry Potter, of course), and classic rock. J.Crew, How I Adore Thee

July 1st, 2009 @ 2:45 pm by Miss Cloud

I decided what I wanted my bridesmaids to wear approximately three years ago. Yes, you read that correctly, THREE YEARS AGO. Long, long long, before we were engaged. One of my adorable bridesmaids, BM N and I share a wonderful obsession—our mutual admiration of all things J.Crew. About two years ago we fell upon the Cotton Cady Lindsey dress.
