We all know brides get to be pampered throughout their engagement, but what about their friends? Yes, their guests are treated to a fabulous wedding (and often, welcome bags), but what about the other events?
As a bridesmaid, while prepping for the bride-to-be’s bachelorette weekend at the beach, I decided to put together some fun goodies for the entourage.

The first project was to make personalized cups for each of the attendees. I used plastic martini glasses purchased from Party City and a simple Sharpie. Each glass had the girl’s name + “C___’s Bachelorette 2010″ around the base.

When it came to choosing gifts for the ladies I had practicality in mind. I wanted to get them something I knew they would love and use well beyond the wedding.

I didn’t want to post this prior to the wedding because I know that my girls follow me on Weddingbee and I didn’t want to ruin the surprise.
Shortly after I asked them to be a part of our wedding, I already had an idea of what I wanted to gift them for standing by my side. I love Coach! This is evident by my collection of bags that takes over a whole shelf in our guest room closet. I wanted to share my love with my friends, who all love a good purse! I had a budget in mind for what I wanted to spend total, and by going to the outlet in Allen and using an additional 30% off coupon I was able to get their gifts and only go over budget by $32 (we’ll just chalk that up to tax).
I picked up similar bags for BM Philly, BM Cali and BM Aggie, but selected colors that I know they really like. Here’s Mama E holding them up while we stand in line at the outlet. Black for BM Cali, Grey for BM Philly and Gold for BM Aggie.

I can’t start a post about my bridesmaids without sharing how exceptional each and every one of these girls has been to me. They were an easy choice for a bridal party from the start, but they truly stepped up when I needed them most over the past year. It only reinforced that I genuinely have some really, really wonderful best friends.
When Mr. Seashell and I got engaged, these were the first people I called (parents aside, of course). When Mr. Seashell’s Mom was diagnosed with cancer, they were always checking in—not only on her, but on us. Bridesmaid Ashley is a resident at the hospital where Mr. Seashell’s Mom was treated. She often went out of her way to personally say hi and offer kind words. When things took a serious turn for the worse, these girls immediately asked how they could help to plan an emergency wedding ceremony. And, when that quickly became unnecessary, they were there to console, and made eager offers to travel for funeral services after having just traveled for a bachelorette party and bridal shower. Their love and support has been unbelievable.
When it came time to give them gifts as a token of my thanks, I racked my brain.

The part of our rehearsal dinner that I enjoyed the most had to be giving gifts to our bridal party. I love coming up with creative gifts for people and we had put a lot of thought into what we were giving all of our nearest and dearest.
First up, the girls! I put together gift bags for them with things they could use on the day of the wedding, but I wanted to make sure they were useful after the wedding as well.
