Sugar Lip Treatment by Fresh is one of my favorite skin care products. I was first introduced to Fresh from their perfume (which I wore on my wedding day). Some girls wear many different perfumes — I wear one every day, and that is Fresh Sugar.

After we had a little time with our friends and family outside the church, we led a processional of all our guests up the Church Street Marketplace. Fun fact: downtown Burlington, VT was designed by the same people who designed downtown Boulder, CO (known as Pearl Street Mall).

Like Mrs. Bee, we haven’t ordered our wedding photo album yet. We were married almost 7 months ago and for the last few months our 1900+ photo proofs have been sitting our our sideboard waiting for me to prioritize them.
After we came down the isle as husband and wife, we had an impromptu receiving line. We didn’t plan a formal receiving line, but as our guests came out of the church they stopped to hug and congratulate us.

We had a few moments before everyone made it outside so we enjoyed some time together.

After our readings and lovely song came the rest of the ceremony. Our minister gave a declaration of intention about what marriage means, then she asked our family and friends for a pledge of support — to support us and share with us…and to babysit someday! It got a laugh for sure. Then it was on to the vows.

First it was Mr. Onion’s turn. He was so calm and eloquent (yes we read them from a paper our minister had for us — we didn’t want to add memorizing them to the mix of nerves).

Ok, you’re thinking, “Mrs. Onion… didn’t you just get married?” Why yes I did — just six months ago. So why am I talking about our 1 year anniversary already (other than I’m excited to eat our cake that has been safely in MIL Onion’s freezer since September)? Yesterday I got an email from the manager at the Willard Street Inn where we stayed for the weekend of the wedding.
After I had my big walk down the isle our minister began by welcoming all our guests. After her introduction we had both of our mothers do a reading.
I love that I’m just grinning at Mr. Onion here. I was so excited.

After the the processional began it was my turn to walk down the aisle with my dad. I know this moment is one of the highlights for most brides, but I wish it had gone a little slower. I wanted to take it all in and meet the eyes of our friends and family. It felt very surreal and almost like I was watching a movie (sort of an out of body experience). It wasn’t until I was almost down the aisle that it really clicked that it wasn’t practice — this was IT. I even bumped into one of our pew decorations on my way to Mr. Onion!
A great way to add a personal touch to your reception is to have a signature drink. When we started planning I did a bit of looking for inspiration and found this lavender champagne on MarthaStewart.com.

After we finished our family and wedding party photos we headed to the church and waited for the ceremony to begin!
As the wedding party was gathering in the entry way of the church, I stood by the door and had one last moment to myself to take it all in. I love this photo as you can see my flower girl on the left — she was so cute all day and just wanted to be with me. I didn’t even know she was standing there until I saw this photo.
