Mr. Ticket and I are best known for singing and dancing in the car, our World of Warcraft addiction, adoring food, crane game playing, and our general homebody ways. Oh, and GO STEELERS!

I love my fiance, crock pot cooking, my cat Heepo, going for the gusto, and all things wedding. Mr. Raccoon is pretty sweet, too! He’s a mad scientist that loves to travel. We met my first night on campus and have been inseparable since.
I saw these Kokeshi doll toppers and thought it was pretty awesome that they could be customized to look like the bride and groom. They’re something I could imagine not just keeping, but keeping on display forever.

Each time I visit Mr. Raccoon in Nashville, we’re sure to stop by a little place called Gigi’s Cupcakes. Kentucky bourbon pie is Mr. Raccoon’s favorite, and I really like their champagne cupcake.
Miss Fox, Washington DC/Havre de Grace, MDAge and Occupation: 26, Massage TherapistFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Field Support EngineerEngagement Date: April 18, 2010Wedding Date: June 2012Venue: Vandiver InnAbout Me: I’m a dancer turned massage therapist who was born and raised in New York. Alas, true love has brought me “south” where I still maintain my penchants for pretty shoes, wine, crossword puzzles, cherry blossoms, and the Mets. I own more sunglasses than a normal person should and don’t eat red meat (though I make up for it by eating my weight in sushi). I tend to be a big planner who likes to get things started early, but generally end up being indecisive and procrastinating when it comes down to it. I have a (not so) secret crush on Chris Carrabba, but my loyalty and love ultimately goes to the future hubs, of course! Together, my Foxy man and I love to discuss (read: debate) politics and current events, have Mario Kart and Scrabble duels, and just laugh. A lot. We’re hoping and planning for a laid back, fun, summery, rustic vibe to our June wedding that will be genuinely “us” – that is, if we finally make some decisions. Huzzah!
I might end up having about 58 posts with the same title by the time this whole wedding shebang actually comes to fruition.
I was perusing Etsy at work yesterday, per usual, and found even more amazing things that I would love to incorporate into our wedding. You could call it inspiration, but I’m pretty certain that I will figure out how to have most of these elements involved somehow!
Miss Doe, Northern CaliforniaAge and Occupation: 24, Real Estate AssistantFiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Recycling ManagerEngagement Date: December 25, 2010Wedding Date: May 2012Venue: Monte Verde InnAbout Me: I’m a Rat Pack fan and a Christmas nut that loves to read, good wine, cheesy ’80s movies and ’90s sitcoms. My wiener dog with an attitude problem and lazy basset hound are my constant source of entertainment. He's a hunter and I like cooking so it's not rare to see wild game on our dinner menu. Both of us were born and raised in a small historic farming town where our feet are still firmly planted. We have been together for nearly a decade and have shared many life experiences together, including birthdays that are only one day apart. We are two old souls that are creating our long-awaited wedding with loads of tradition that blends our two styles into rustic elegance in the foothills of Northern California.
I am going to be perfectly honest with you. Before becoming engaged and obsessing over all things wedding, I had no clue what bunting was. The first time I heard of bunting, my first thought was maybe they meant bundt. (Come on, I know I am not the only one.) Maybe instead of having a candy bar they were doing various types of bundt cakes? In fact, whenever a bundt cake is mentioned in my family, typically we quote this scene from My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

I love travel, photography, museums, learning German so I can speak with my mother-in-law, cooking (eating), cuddling, and I'm not afraid to try something new even if it terrifies me. My Swiss/Brazilian man and I are both down to earth people planning a traditional Catholic wedding in my hometown with some quirky cultural exceptions to reflect our different backgrounds. We look forward to celebrating with friends and family from all over the world in a classic, sophisticated fusion of heritage and love.
Hive, I’ve been a busy bee painting away to get our cake topper done. After all the details have dried and been sewn together or glued on, I’m ready to call this DIY project “done.”
After I drew a rough sketch on the dolls and consulted Mr. Funnel Cake on whether closed or open eyes were better, it was time to paint the first layers of our outfits. This part took awhile while I let layers dry and then painted new details and colours on top.
Mrs. Jaguar, SydneyAge and Occupation: 27, Primary School TeacherFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, IT ConsultantEngagement Date: August 8, 2009Wedding Date: June 2011Venue: Curzon HallAbout Me: I'm an Australian girl who is a self-proclaimed nerd, loves all things stationery and would be lost without books, music and the internet. Mr. Jaguar and I have been together for the past eight years and he finally popped the question last August. Hurrah! We currently live in Sydney, Australia with our adorable cat who thinks he's a person. We're a couple who likes to multi-task: we've been planning a wedding abroad, a permanent move from London to Sydney, and preparing to build our own home all at the same time. Travelling makes me giddy...as does Mr. Jaguar, of course!
Ms. Ferris Wheel, San FranciscoAge and Occupation: 29, PsychologistFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, PsychologistEngagement Date: May 23 and 28, 2010 (one for each of us!)Wedding Date: November 2011Venue: Parc55 Hotel (city lights ceremony, ballroom reception)About Me: Born in the Southeast, educated in the Northeast, and over-educated on the West Coast, I finally earned my city-girl credentials and have put down roots in gorgeous San Francisco. I’m a raging perfectionist with a lightning quick wit and a terrible sense of both time and direction. Our wedding task list is endlessly growing because of my predilection to think that DIY projects I can make = DIY projects I should make (so not true!). I always go to bed wishing there were more hours in the day to enjoy all the things I adore, whether that be hobbies, friends, my career, our two dogs, or Mr. Ferris Wheel. Ours is a story of a non-traditional couple living an oddly traditional life planning a not-so-traditional wedding in this city we adore. Together we are bustin’ out all of our best skills (and some of our worst ones) to plan a laid-back-chic DIY-craftastic love-alicious affair!
Last night I came home after a long day at work and I headed to the kitchen to get some water. I mindlessly opened the fridge, and this is the scene that greeted me. (Please, oh please, read on past the picture because this is seriously hilarious.)

My type-A Virgo tendencies often cause me to drive my laid-back college sweetheart fiance batty with lists and PowerPoint presentations. I love to be crafty and do things myself, which explains why my two crazy kittens often will prance around the house covered in glitter and ribbons. When I am not bogged down with work, school, or wedding planning, I like to travel to visit my expansive family and have wild adventures with my best friends. After a rollercoaster ride of a love story, I’m ready to take that final plunge, marry the love of my life, and become a Mrs.!
Remember when I showed you guys my mad clay skills? Also remember when I said that the kitties were only the beginning of a bigger project? Well, I finished said project and I think it turned out so good that I just had to show you all. I’ve really been excited to do this because Mr. D gets tired of me squealing over a project time and time again, and I know that you will appreciate the work I have put in. After all, you all understand these milestones that I am hitting and can squeal along with me!

We are planning a small, intimate wedding up in the Malibu Hills with our closest family and friends. With the help of my wonderful fiance, our loved ones, and red velvet cheesecake, our wedding will be glorious!
The Warblers have been busy birdies. We’ve finished paying off our venue (can I get an ahem?), bridesmaids’ dresses have been ordered, and rehearsal-brunch plans have been made. But what makes us feel sugar-induced happy? We’ve booked our baker!

Although I may seem quiet from afar, I have a loud personality once you get to know me. I am a book nerd at heart, but love a night out in the city with good friends. I have a serious addiction to all things cheese, chocolate, cardigans, Mexican food, and reality TV. The future hubs and I met in college, settled in New York, and decided to go with a rustic/peacock infused wedding in Lancaster, PA, right near his hometown. Come the big day, we will be together 5 years, and we're looking forward to making it official!
I learned something exciting and new when planning my wedding. It’s a secret MATHZ equation that apparently is a well hidden secret in the wedding industry. It goes something like this: flour + eggs (sugar / milk) = GOLD! Wedding cakes are REDIC expensive, kids!

A few weeks ago, Mr. Warbs, MOH J5, and I suited up in our sweat pants to taste some cakes! Let me tell you, I was super excited about this. The bakery had come highly recommended from our florist and is in the same neighborhood as our venue. When I called them up for a consultation, they informed me that they were in the middle of moving to a new location (even closer to our venue) and should be open the weekend of August 20th. At that point, that was three weeks away. I happily confirmed the appointment and regularly checked in via emails and phone calls. Cake is serious business.
The day finally arrived, and we scooted off to Thousand Oaks, which was about an hour drive. I personally blame the Kardashians for all the traffic; Kim K. was getting married and I think that’s her hood. When we pulled up in front of the address, we were faced with…an empty store. Ahhhh! At first I was afraid they had gone out of business, but Mr. Warbs reminded me that they had just moved. We were at the old address. D’oh! All the time I spent drooling over cake, I had forgotten to get the new address. This time cake brain won out over bridal brain.
A quick phone call and Mr. Warbs’s scout-like senses, and we arrived at the new location, which looked like…an empty store. Deja vu? A glitch in the Matrix? You bet! While the store wasn’t empty, they were not completely open to the public, a fact the baker left out in our email string. We were told that we couldn’t go into the store and had to sit outside at a patio table. Red flag number one. After about 20 minutes of looking over photos and magazines, the baker brought out the cakes. I had expected to be presented with a nice assortment, kind of like these:

For many months I’ve been thinking about cake toppers from afar… and with less than two months until the big day it’s time to address this decision. Apparently I’m one of those crazy brides who wants a custom cake topper. Can you blame me?
One look at Mrs. Tartlet’s cake is enough to convince anyone they need their own personalised couple. But what kind of cake topper did I want? (And I say “I” here because Mr. Funnel Cake really doesn’t give a crap what we do for this.)

We live in an outdoor mecca and truly believe in "Work Hard, Play Harder." I'm an optimist to the core, a crafter wannabe, a Southern food cook-in-training and a big time believer in girls nights. We met, fell in love and got engaged in eight short months and are now knee-deep in planning what we hope to be a super-fun, very us wedding celebration. Join us as we plan a rustic meets whimsical, Colorado winter wedding with loads of personal touches and good food!
Mmm sweets. I’ve got a big sweet tooth so it’s no surprise that I’ve put just quite a bit of thought into what kind of sweetness we will have at our wedding. I love that we aren’t pinned into the cake corner anymore and that nowadays we have many more options as to what smackerels to serve our guests to appease their own sweet tooths. Cakes are the standard, but beautiful choice…I’m drawn to ruffly and ombre colored cakes that double as works of art:
Knowing that the artsy detailed cake would not fit into our budget, I did what I do best: turned to Google for other options. And oh, the options. I was dead set on the cupcake tower last fall. I love the over-the-top look of the display and the ability to provide multiple flavors: Read more…
