Luckily, I had amazing help, my super creative bridesmaid, Michelle and my friend, Mona. After months of Michelle emailing me invitation designs she made on Adobe Illustrator, we finally decided on one and met at her apartment one night in November to get down to business.

I hate my groomsmen!!! Just kidding… or am I? Hehe~ it’s a love/hate thing. I think the problem is not only are they Mr. Lovebird’s closest friends and high school buddies, they happen to be my high school pals as well. Maybe that’s why I’m having such a hard time with them - they think they can push little Miss Lovebird around just because we’ve all been friends for over a decade! Mr. Lovebird and I are getting legally married at City Hall in New York before our wedding in front of friends and family in Cancun. I think it was the lawyer side of me talking since I don’t want the hassle of having a Mexican marriage certificate, which I would have to get translated and Apostilled each time I would need it. But the ultimate deal breakers were the blood tests. Me no likey needles…

Happy Valentine’s Day bees and readers! So it’ll be my last valentine’s as an unmarried woman… Mr. Lovebird and I are guilty of overlooking this holiday the last couple of years. Today will be no different. He will be studying for his upcoming neurology exam and I will be at home treating myself to one of my click-flicks.

It amazes me what aspects of the wedding Mr. Lovebird actually has strong opinions about. I found out recently that one of those areas was what music we would play at the wedding.

I’ve already told you about our search for our first dance song, and no, we haven’t found it yet. But the last couple of months, every time we drive somewhere, we go through tracks to see what we want to play at the wedding. I was surprised how much we differ on this issue.

This post is long overdue, but I wanted to make sure all my guest received their invitations before writing about them. Before weddingbee, I never thought in a million years that I would “gocco” my invites. I remember emailing my bridesmaids this gocco post when it came out last February, which got them all excited. Then, my super-talented bridesmaid, Michelle graciously offered to design and help make my invitations! Without her, none of this would have been possible.
My first task: get a gocco! In August, I had bid for and won one off ebay as a pure impulse buy.

We just got our first wedding gift!
Let me preface this by saying that Mr. Lovebird is an online shopaholic. He will probably kill me for writing this, but the first thing he does when he wakes up in the morning (and mind you he has to wake up before the sun’s even up), is check his online forum/deal sites. This is also his ritual before he goes to bed. Needless to say, we get a lot of boxes in the mail; it would be strange if we went two days without a new cardboard box.

I love celebrity weddings! I can’t wait to see more pictures from this one. Her dress looks absolutely gorgeous. I wonder if they will honeymoon in Bora Bora as well, or if they will jet set somewhere else. Sometimes I wonder how much celebrity weddings influence the weddings of everyday people like us. It must be nice not to have a budget and have Colin Cowie as your event planner.
