Or anywhere in France, for that matter!). I’m a full-time worker, part-time student, soon-to-be-step-mom, indie music lovin’, architecture and design fanatic, macaroni and cheese addict, vegetarian, Francophile, Ohio State football obsessed, wedding planning girl. Mr. Quiche and I are “Partners-in-Crime” and cannot wait to celebrate our marriage surrounded by our family and closest friends. I plan on DIYing my little heart out (or as much as a suitcase to Jamaica will hold).
Talk about bridal inspiration last night! White and ivory ruled the red carpet as Hollywood’s leading ladies stole the show with their gowns.
In my opinion, Taraji Henson was the best dressed of the night, hands down. Read more…

As Miss Gingerbread shared with us, same-sex couples now have the right to get married in California. I know that Mrs. Blueberry already shared the rumor that Ellen DeGeneres was getting married, but I wanted to share, if you haven’t heard already, that Ellen formally announced her engagement to long time girlfriend, Portia de Rossi. So this is old news, but WB reader JFS, pointed out the smashing white dinner jackets worn by the groom and others at socialite Lauren Davis’ wedding in January:

Thanks to endless reruns of Law & Order: SVU, I have a date with Detective Olivia Benson every day of the week. I have a huge girl crush on actress Mariska Hargitay, the talented actress who plays Detective Benson. She just seems so charming, down-to-earth, and all-around adorable. Her soigne 2004 nuptials to actor Peter Hermann is my favorite celebrity wedding of all-time. Here are some photographs of the lovely day:

The 80th annual Academy Awards ceremony Sunday night brought out all the stars and glamour on the red carpet. So, similar to the post I did about the Screen Actor’s Guild awards, here are some dresses that I thought could be great inspiration to those of you out there who are thinking of getting custom gowns.
Keisha Whitaker looked stunning, didn’t she? Forrest is one lucky guy! I don’t know who designed her gown, but I just love it and I think it would make a gorgeous wedding gown. Read more…

If you caught the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night you probably noticed some stunning gowns, along with all the beautiful hair and makeup that Mrs. Butterscotch blogged about. I thought some of these dresses could provide great inspiration for anyone out there thinking of having a custom wedding gown made.
My choice for best dressed at the SAGs is definitely French starlet Marion Cotillard in this absolutely breathtaking gown from Nina Ricci. Wouldn’t it make a fabulous wedding dress in white or ivory? Or maybe even in grey for the less traditional bride. It’s so romantic and dreamy and would be flattering on many body types. I also love her hair and makeup. Very understated and natural.

So, you know that section in US Weekly entitled, “Stars, They’re Just Like Us!”? (Anyone else claim gossip rags as a guilty pleasure? No?) Well, sometimes they ARE! One of Bush twins has announced her wedding date. Jenna Bush and her fiance, Henry Hager, will be married on May 10th at the family’s Texas ranch. There will also be a lovely bridal shower at the White House this weekend. I wonder where she is registered…

I love celebrity weddings! I can’t wait to see more pictures from this one. Her dress looks absolutely gorgeous. I wonder if they will honeymoon in Bora Bora as well, or if they will jet set somewhere else. Sometimes I wonder how much celebrity weddings influence the weddings of everyday people like us. It must be nice not to have a budget and have Colin Cowie as your event planner.

We both work in politics and share a love of University of Georgia football, pop culture, and good food! I'm a runner who adores wedding magazines, bad reality television, and a
good glass of wine. Most of the time I like to think I'm pretty organized, but between wedding planning, house hunting, and a full-time job, I'm being put to the test!
Earlier today, I stumbled across a couple of pictures of Katherine Heigl’s December 23rd wedding, which will be published in this week’s edition of OK! magazine.
In my opinion, she pretty much always looks stunning, and her wedding day style was no exception:

Is it just me, or can you not stop looking at other people’s engagement rings? Mrs. Bee did a similar post a while back and I thought it might be fun to update it with some new bling!

Mr. Emerald is very involved in the planning process, but of course he generally defers to me cuz I have a strong opinion of how I want everything to be :-).
Yesterday we found out that Tiger Woods will be staying at our venue the weekend of our wedding! Whoa! Apparently there is a big golf tournament in the area that weekend (obviously). How cool would it be to have him as a wedding crasher?! Well, Mr. E said that he wouldn’t want the attention taken away from us, which I agree is absolutely right… but I definitely wouldn’t mind if Tiger showed up at 11pm and had a few drinks with us, haha. The hotel is fairly small, only 200 +/- rooms, so he can’t be all that hard to find… Maybe I’ll stalk him and slip an invitation under his door, hehehe. Totally Kidding!! But Tiger, if you are reading this, feel free to make an appearance!
The only bad thing is that we can’t get upgraded to a suite since Mr. Woods and his entourage have monopolized them all Bummer…
I remember that last year, there was some hoopla when Oprah “crashed” some people’s weddings. The Tulsa couple was less than thrilled. How would you react to a celebrity wedding crasher, or has it happened to you (or someone you know?)

Recreate your favorite MTV wedding by purchasing Carmen Electra’s $11,000 Badgley Mischka dress… for the bargain price of only $4,599!!! Oh, and just to let you know, it has been worn twice, has been sized down to a street size 0 and has a few loose beads.

All of my envelopes are addressed and ready to go… even those to the “VIP” Guests. Sure, they won’t be coming to the wedding (although I do have the in’s with Mickey & Minnie) and they will be getting a pretty color copy of the invite instead of the real thing… but I’ve heard they send lovely momentos in their place. In case you’d like to invite some VIPs to your wedding, here are just a few of the addresses I have collected:
