When I first heard of “the signature drink,” I was a bit hesitant. How is it that every new wedding trend seems like the key to a perfect wedding? My parents scoffed at the idea and I couldn’t help but wonder if it’s necessary. I still admit that it isn’t necessary. I doubt guests will talk about it for years to come. It won’t make or break the day. Despite all this, I think we will be having one and I am pleased about it. The way our day will be structured–with a cocktail hour in between the ceremony and reception while the wedding party and family takes formal photos–it seemed like a nice way to spice up that time.
So now the only question is what drink should be our ’signature’. Mr. Peppermint and I recently settled on Pimm’s. I first heard of Pimm’s when I was doing a summer acting program in England. The teachers would congregate out on the green and drink Pimm’s after class! It’s mostly a British thing–and from what I understand, recently making a comeback? When I went to my cousin’s wedding in Ipswich last summer, this was their signature drink. It’s refreshing, delicious and, I must admit, packs a punch!

Now that all the major planning is over with, I feel like I can enjoy doing little things and add some details to personalize the wedding. Months ago, I bought 100 coasters from a former bride who was selling her post wedding items. To personalize them, again I used the stamp set from Close to My Heart. The stamps were too large for the coaster, so I stamped the coaster right on the edge using just a portion of the stamp.

I stamped four different designs to change things up.

Everyone wants ways to personalize their wedding. But the same ideas seem to get passed around and around, and most people don’t want their friends and family to feel like they are at just another wedding.
I unfortunately was burned badly this weekend and am immobile at the moment, so I have been stuck at the computer. I’ve been doing a little research on different companies that offer interesting ways to give your guests something special. Todays is all about Cigar Catering.

Cigar Catering provides their clients with the unique service of a cigar roller for 2 hours during their special event. They personalize the label with your monogram or whatever you want on the 50 included cigars and you can add on more prerolled cigars also. The total cost is $975, with their website listing discounts in some areas.
Cigar Catering offers their services in 21 cities.
Are you doing anything really unique to personalize your wedding? Or is it too top secret to share? ![]()
As we all invariably know, there are so many little things that are involved in wedding planning. Should I really care about all the minutiae that probably no one else will notice? No. Do I care? Yes!
For some bizarre reason, I have always thought that these “Eat, Drink & Be Married Coasters” (pic courtesy of knottie mrscrystal2006, a great bio, FYI) are just the cutest things ever. I’ve found another knottie willing to sell me brand new ones, leftover from her wedding - 100 coasters for the low, low price of $20 + $3 shipping. Do I bite? Is it worth it? Why are there so many decisions? Are these cheaper elsewhere?! I don’t feel like researching every, little, itty bitty thing…

OMG, I can’t believe I am posting about coasters… haha ![]()

“Make an elegant invitation statement without the fuss. Stylish invitation sets with matching envelopes, reception and response cards included.”
Last night Mrs. Butterfly and I (and our spouses) attended Mrs. Snail’s wedding at the Rockleigh Country Club in New Jersey. I wanted to let her give you all the details, but here’s a tiny sneak peek.

Officially Mr. and Mrs. Snail! They both looked so happy all night, and they really do make a great couple.
I usually like cocktail hour food - hors d’oeuvres, crudites and champagne! - more than the sit down dinner at a wedding. I love to try every little thing.
The wedding Mr. Bee and I attended this past weekend had a great cocktail hour. The stationery table had cheeses, crackers, spreads, olives, strawberries, and grapes wrapped in prosciutto. But the best part was the bread (lower right hand corner) with warm brie inside. Yum…

There were also butlered hot hors d’oeuvres like spanokopita and curried chicken skewers.
But the way to my heart is definitely through a raw bar - oysters, jumbo shrimp, clams saturated thoroughly with lemon juice and cocktail sauce oh my! I so wanted a raw bar with oysters, shrimp, crab legs, and sushi all on a pagoda ice sculpture at our wedding. One can dream can’t they?
