Miss Trail Mix, New YorkAge and Occupation: 26, PE TeacherFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, MBA StudentEngagement Date: March 2009Wedding Date: June 2010Venue: Tannery Pond at the Darrow SchoolAbout Me: I'm a country girl who somehow found herself living in the Big Apple and loving every minute of it. I'm planning a rustic, country-chic wedding in my hometown in upstate New York and it's going to be a Party with a capital P. White wine, flea markets and running keep me happy and my friends, family and fiance are my world. I'm a little bit crafty, a little bit crazy but mostly just crazy in love.
Anyways, for the sake of my sanity and in an attempt to be (somewhat) organized, I’m making a list of all the DIY projects I hope (emphasis on the word hope) to complete before June.
1. Chuppah- This is a tent-like structure that couples stand under during the ceremony in Jewish weddings. There is a lot of freedom in…

I’m also an English major with a serious obsession with alliteration and rhymes. While I’m not keeping America safe, I’m training for half marathons and the Escape from Alcatraz swim. Or moving for the third time this year. Or baking. Or wedding crafting. Or crying about wedding planning. All the while, I’m getting myself into Lucille Ball-esque scrapes and making Jim Carey-esque faces. Our big fat Czech/Baptist/Jewish/Italian wedding is a combination of vintage eclectic, DIY, and little spoonful of sugar from our Event Coordinator. It’s going to be a Norfolk flavored wedding with the verve of an only-daughter-blow-out bash!
My master’s work involved lengthy research on veiling in the Middle East. My choice to veil is much less political, and not even entirely religious. I love the look of it, actually. Regardless of the symbolism, the veil appeals to me as delicious and delicate. Take at a look at these gorgeous photos by David Schwartz (a top tier local photographer) of Maya and Eric.
Miss Hamster, New York CityAge and Occupation: 28, Finance GalFiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Finance GuyEngagement Date: March 9, 2009Wedding Date: May 2010Venue: The Pierre HotelAbout Me: I'm an original Jersey girl living it up in the big NYC! I love baking for others, hosting brunches, and exploring NYC with my mans. Besides Mr. Hamster (of course), I'm attracted to shiny things, bold colors, snacks, matching and coordination, pork and duck fats, miniature versions of things, corny jokes and puns. We are planning a swanky Spring wedding in the heart of NYC, followed by a second reception in Singapore. From one city that never sleeps to another - I can't imagine a more exciting ride!
In my last DIY post, I showcased my very first DIY project - our save-the-dates! In this post, I’ll walk you through a step-by-step tutorial. It’s easy, I promise!
You will need:
Cardstock
Moo Cards
A printing device (printer, Gocco, etc.)
Adhesive foam stickies
Ribbon
Scissors
1. Cut your cardstock into desired save-the-date size.
Or, buy the cardstock pre-cut into the size you want (score!). Make sure that the cardstock fits into your…

We are complete opposites, resulting in a wedding to include bridesmaids in pearls and groomsmen in Adidas shell toes. I’m a sorority girl at heart with strong addictions to my blackberry, cherry Chapstick, Coach purses, the Boston Red Sox and our fur baby, Bella. I can’t wait to the throw the party of our lives and of course, marry my best friend!
I have always been a big fan of paper: paper products, paper crafts, anything to do with paper! My neighbor growing up had a drawer in her basement that was filled with scraps of anything from construction paper to scrapbooking scraps and anytime I complained of being bored, Mama Cloud would send me over looking for a project.

I love scrapbooking, dancing, doggies, and diet coke. I am all about personalizing everything and hence, I'm a DIY bride who is just loving the entire wedding planning process! Mr. Daffodil and I met in our college fellowship group and were "just friends" for three years before we started dating. We've been together for four years now and can't wait to get married in sunny SoCal, Mr. Daffodil's hometown.
Many of you may remember my obsession with paper goods and wedding invitations, so you can imagine my delight when Sister Daffodil asked me to design her an invitation! A few weeks prior, we had picked out a canary yellow and light pink theme together for her wedding. I wanted the invitation to reflect her and BIL Daff’s personalities and how their wedding would likely be - lighthearted, joyful, but most of all, FUN!

Engagement Date: December 31, 2008Wedding Date: November 2009Venue: Whitfield Square/Savannah StationAbout Me: I'm working on my second degree from UGA (Go Dawgs!). I'm a self-proclaimed attention-w****. If it involves a camera, I'm in front of it! You'll never meet a girlier tomboy than me. I can go toe to toe with any guy on the subject of college football, and lift more than any girl in my gym, all without chipping a nail. I hope to someday be the only person you want delivering your sports news. My FI and I are the loving parents of three Labrador Retrievers (one of each color) and are planning a "Southern Romantic Charm" wedding in the beautiful, historic city of Savannah. I'm not extreme in anything except moderation... and wedding planning.
My MOH recently bought a new house about 40 minutes away from me. With the wedding fast approaching, we’ve used it as an excuse to visit each other quite a lot lately. :)
During my first visit to her new home, I found something that caught my eye while snooping... er... checking... everything out. ;) She had the cutest little birdcage in her closet!

I can make that!' Nerdy professional by day, goofy won-ton by night. The won-ton sometimes comes out during the day when I'm fed the dollar breakfast at Ikea. Since our engagement, wedding planning has put me on high alert for bargains and I've been pushing my nimble fingers through callous building experiments!
I wanted something simple and cute to hold up all the labels for the desserts at MOH-Ho’s ’Sugar Spice Nice’ themed shower and I came up with the perfect solution:

When I had my first stress moment about the wedding (and when I say stress moment, of course I really mean complete and utter major freak out with tears and screaming) my fabulous family stepped up as always. Back when I pitched this idea, many of you were worried that if I didn’t permanently glue to the plates to the candlesticks that we would end up with cake on the table and the floors - or basically anywhere opposite of the place we want the cake (in our tummehs!). I considered the options, and while I still like the idea of being able…

I’ve already shown you the “basic” invitation we sent to our guests. However, for a few special people, “deluxe” invitations were found in mailboxes.
The full “suite”: stamped and “fauxligraphy” addressed envelopes, front and back of the wedding invitation, wedding map, liner, rehearsal dinner and bridesmaids’ brunch invitations.
I held off sending invitations to anyone in our wedding party or family that would be attending the rehearsal…

Because we weren’t having a particularly fancy invitation suite with letterpress, response cards, fold outs and all those other “fixins” and whatnot, I knew I wanted to at least give the envelopes a wow factor.
I searched high and low for A9-sized chocolate envelopes (for my wonky-shaped invitations) in my city but always came home empty-handed. So I planned a trip with one of my bridesmaids…

Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.
… And about a year’s worth of stuff to do. And all the while, my laptop is busted, I’ve been sick for almost a week, and I even got Mr. MB sick for good measure. Seriously! But one thing is going well: my paper flower wall. I worked on it when I was back in Texas.

The cute wrapping paper above (holding delightful pieces of snail mail for the Lambaids) was a piece of swag from the fanciest bat mitzvah which I’d ever laid eyes on. I helped my cousin’s design firm by directing the guests to the custom Converse sneaker spray painters. I also helped hand out the swag bags that included sweatshirts, pins, t-shirts, and ball caps. We both come from a small town in PA but are growing to love the California lifestyle. He loves wine and I love cheese... the perfect combination! When I'm not drooling over wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school, out being a foodie, or attempting to "walk" our cat at the park. Two things guaranteed to excite me are wedding cakes and breaking out my suitcase to travel. Mr. Sunbeam and I are personalizing our hometown wedding to celebrate our high school sweetheart status and PA roots with a few CA touches. After ten years of dating we couldn't be more excited to call each other husband and wife!
So I only made you wait a day; that’s not so bad! Now that you have seen my beautiful veil it’s time to learn how it was made! As promised, here is: The making of Miss Sunbeam’s veil. A step by step tutorial by Mrs. DG.
