Today we’re going to chat a bit about flower girls.
First, a few tidbits:
Flower girls usually proceed down the aisle before the maid of honor, following the ring bearer, if you have one. Sending two flower girls down the aisle at the same time helps to add confidence to the girls and gives them a buddy to walk down the aisle with. We plan do send two at a time, for sure. Make sure to explain their duties well in advance, and allow their parents to pump the kids up with pep talks.
Flower girls can choose to either sit with their parents after walking down the aisle or stand up with the rest of the bridal party. Our two eldest girls will probably remain standing.
One weekend my FMIL and I wound up at the mall to start getting some ideas about flower girl dresses. We’re having a total of four girls in the wedding party, who will be ages four, five, ten, and twelve for the wedding. The four- and five-year-old both have the most beautiful fiery red hair, and it goes perfectly with these dresses we found. They look like sisters but are actually first cousins.
