There are many girls out there who can do wonders to themselves with a brush and a mascara wand: but I’m not one of them. I barely ever even wear make-up, as purely evident I’m sure from my many “regular” photos on this blog, and I always just throw my hair back in a pony tail. Our professional photos are ready to make their appearance (much love to our rock star photographers over at Lux Images for the pics I’ll be posting over the next few days)!First up are our “ring shots” — I didn’t even know these were must-have shots until I started stalking photographers’ blogs myself.
It’s funny to see what ring photos say about a couple, no? Ours seem to say we’re technology-lovin’ game freaks (an accurate representation, I’d say). Props go to my husband for upgrading me to the pink Nintendo DS for the wedding. The man thought I’d like a little Wario Ware Touched action while I got my pretty on, and if so, the DS needed to match our color scheme. Oh yeah, he’s good…

By far, the highlight of our honeymoon was our Grand Canyon adventure. Based on a recommendation from The Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas 2008, we purchased our package online through Best Tours LV and opted for the big momma of all their tours, one that combined airplane, helicopter, boat and bus transportation (and will run you about $300 a person, every single dollar worth it).
The whole shebang began with transportation from the hotel to the Boulder City airport via private van. The ride takes about 30 minutes, and after that, you climb into one of these babies for another 30 minute ride (admittingly not the most comfortable of your life):

So Vegas afforded us not only a faux Paris trip, but a faux Venice one, too. The Venetian is such a masterpiece that it absolutely inspired us to take a real Venice trip one day, when we have the time and can afford it. After all, I’m guessing that if the façade alone in Vegas is this romantic, there must be no words for the real thing.

As was promised to us by many, one of the highlights of our honeymoon was seeing Cirque du Soleil’s Beatles show: LOVE. Of course, I would think you’d have to be a Beatles fan to love it, but I’m always surprised when I hear people say they aren’t. Read more…

We’re suckers for suites, so the moment we arrived at the Paris and we were offered an upgrade to a Calais suite for $95 a night, we took it: it was our honeymoon after all.
Our first suite was nice, but we agreed we wouldn’t call it amazing:
The television in the bedroom was encased in a piece of a furniture that hid it and that upon turning the TV on, made the unit appear and disappear. We first thought it tres cool, but actually, it made a grating noise and was horrendously loud. Read more…

Tons of pink & green and general Monopoly stuff has thrown up over every surface of the Petunia home. Because there isn’t just one of any thing, of course: there were 10+ gifts that required wrapping , 30-something Monopoly houses to be spray-painted (and that’s only half of them), more than one hundred favor envelopes and tokens to prepare, etc.:
