About Me: I am your typical Midwestern girl attempting to plan a sane, budget-friendly, fun wedding to the man of my dreams. I love shoes, laughing at “Platinum Weddings”, crafts, inspiration boards, candy, and basically anything I can DIY. While weddings can certainly be all-consuming, I honestly can’t wait until the ceremony is over and I can finally call Mr. Powder Puff my husband!

I stumbled upon this a while back, and absolutely LOVED this idea. In Quaker marriages, the vows are written out on a beautiful manuscript, which is signed by all the guests attending the wedding. By signing the paper, the guests are pledging to support the couple in their relationship. In the words of this certificate, “As members of a loving community, we set our…

About Me: I am a Southern California native who enjoys cooking, writing, travel and all things in the arts. Mr. Peppermint and I met in college and he proposed on our four year anniversary in one of our most special places, Joshua Tree National Park. We're having a destination wedding in Palms Springs that will incorporate tradition as well as reflect our personalities!
First off, hello hive!! I’ve missed you! I know it’s been a long time since I last posted, but I’m back…
I thought I’d kick it off with a post about our guest book. To remind you, we got married in Palm Springs last December. While neither Mr. Peppermint nor I are from there, it had long been a special getaway for us. We had family…

About Me: I never dreamed about my wedding as a little girl because I was too busy playing in the mud or pretending to be Martha Stewart–but now that it's here, I'm having a fabulous time DIYing everything in sight! We’re planning a very fun multicultural wedding (I'm Jewish and Mr. Cream Puff is Chinese), filled with as many personal details as I can muster.
A couple of days ago, we FINALLY received the CD of our photobooth pictures from the wedding. This means two things: First, I can share them with you, and second, I can make our guestbook! We had 105 different photobooth pictures, and they were all pretty great, for various reasons. We seemed to have three main themes: boob grabbing, strangling and kissing. I’d really like…

About Me: Things that make me happy: Haribo Happy Cola gummies, TV shows on DVD, buying books although I never read them, 80’s rock ballads, ramen, and of course Mr. Martini! He is the calm, logical and number crunching finance guy. I can’t even multiply double digit numbers in my head and I am so indecisive that trying to choose between light green or slightly lighter green paper stresses me out (Wedding planning is going to be soooo much fun). We both find great joy in nabbing great seats at the movie theater for a blockbuster movie on opening weekend, and we are both absolutely crazy about snowboarding. And he loves to cook, I love to eat!
For my 7th annual 21st birthday in 2006, my friends threw me a surprise party at one of my MOH’s apartment. Let’s just say there were a lot of tears, a LOT of silly string, and a lot of craziness going on. It was one of the most memorable days of my life. One very sweet thing I got to take home with me was…

When I graduated from high school, my mom made me a t-shirt quilt from all my old t-shirts from family trips, swim meets, summer camp and school trips. I love my t-shirt quilt. It is a warm and cuddly reminder of my childhood and it is functional too. It looks a lot like this:

We had kind of a difficult time deciding what type of guestbook to choose. We thought about photo mats, polaroid guestbooks, etc. etc. Nothing seemed quite right. At the end of the day, Mr. Cream Puff really wanted a photobooth, so we decided to split the cost on it and get one. After that, our guestbook decision was an easy one.
Remember my photo album for our…

After some deliberation, I’ve decided how to use the vintage mailbox that I purchased in Kalispell.
First, I was considering using it as a card box. Then, I was considering using it as an alternative to a guest book. Then, I realized I could just as well do both!
What we’ll do is set the mailbox on a table or secure it near a table on a…

In my free time, I love reading Martha mags, designing jewelry and making a pit-stop at Starbucks for a chai latte. I'm also a chocoholic at heart and my family drools over my homemade truffles.
I like labeling stuff with words that I make up, so this was no exception. I’ve decided to officially call our wedding/pro-pics posts Glamuptials.

I had gone back and forth as to whether or not to have a Polaroid guestbook at our wedding. While I loved the idea, I just felt like film was so expensive, and I didn’t know if I could find/borrow/buy Polaroid cameras because the Polaroid company has ceased manufacturing them. We lucked out though: my mother-in-law bought us two Adesso Polaroid Guestbook Albums, so all…

About Me: Mr. Cupcake and I hit it off at a Halloween party and immediately began a long-distance relationship. Mr. Cupcake and I are both old souls, and we hope to weave that aspect of our personalities into our wedding day.
Over the last 16 months of wedding planning (sheesh!), I have come across a lot of ideas for guest books, but none of them has really struck my fancy. I’ve seen engagement photo guest books, wish bowls, wish trees, and Polaroid guest books, but I wanted to do something a little different. (One of the curses of doing too much research!)Last month in the Spring issue…

About the time I first started reading wedding blogs, I saw an inspiration board on Snippet & Ink called “A Little Bit Country” that made my heart beat a little bit faster. It wasn’t the color scheme, or even the overall similarity of the ambiance to my own country wedding. It was the image in the second row, third from the left. A vintage mailbox…
