Hi everyone! I know it’s been ages since I’ve made an appearance on here, but I realized something this past weekend while Mr. Locket and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary. It has been one year since we both shared our vows, said our “I dos,” and celebrated our union as husband and wife, and it’s still been one year since I’ve shared all the details. I did begin my recap journey many months ago, but with the craziness of life I never finished. Well, life is finally slowing down a bit (before it speeds up), and I finally have extra time to come back here and finish what I started.
Oh my, so much has happened since I’ve written here last, and these past few months have been a very exciting time for Mr. Locket and me. You see, we have a little surprise to share with the hive…

Remember this series? Yeah, maybe not, but it’s back!!! Per many requests, I’ve finally had a chance to finish the ranunculus tutorial and am happy to share.
DIY Fabric Ranunculus Tutorial
The best thing about this tutorial is that petal size doesn’t have to be completely precise or uniform. The worst thing about this specific tutorial? This style of flower can be quite time-consuming to create because of the prep work and layering. (If you plan on creating many of these flowers I would suggest breaking up the workload into two parts for prep work and construction.)

Upon reaching each other, our hands, like magnets, were instantly joined and our eyes locked onto one another’s (mine were trying very hard to hold back tears).

February 14 marked our first Valentine’s Day (and nearly 5 months) as husband and wife. And, though I don’t believe in all the hype around the holiday (I think your loved ones should let you know how they feel every day) I still get excited every time it comes.
In our years together the day has been filled with so many wonderful memories. We’ve spent the love-filled day crafting each other homemade Valentines, getting snowed in, preparing fancy feasts, dining out, and running a 5K. This year, my gift to him was a bountiful homemade breakfast and heart-tarts with homemade blueberry filling.

His gift to me? Absolute and utter perfection! But, before I give it away, let me preface with the back story (here comes the wedding stuff).

Before I start back in on my wedding recaps, I thought it might be fun to join in on this bee series…
How did I find Weddingbee?
Like many other brides before me (or like many of you ladies in the waiting boards), I found the ‘Bee pre-proposal. No, I wasn’t already planning my future wedding, or looking for ideas and inspiration, I was looking for answers. Answers to why my then boyfriend, Mr. Locket, had openly purchased an engagement ring for me, but was taking forever to pop the question. It was quite the frustrating time in my life because I couldn’t share my frustrations with anyone. Mr. L made a point to tell everyone and their mother that he had bought the ring and that a proposal was in the works. The downside to him telling everyone was that I had to keep mum. I couldn’t inform my sister, my mom, or even my best friend about what he had done (even though they already knew) because he wanted everyone to believe I would be surprised when it happened. Well, to make a long story short he found a way to propose on his own time with a completely different ring. From that point on I couldn’t get enough of the ‘Bee. I began searching all the lovely DIY projects and became inspired by the bees that shared their planning process and their weddings.

Remember me, Mrs. Locket? I used to blog here every other day but have been mostly MIA (a.k.a. giving you really drawn-out recaps) for the past couple few weeks. The reason? Well, I’ve sort of been in hiding.

This was a really honest and heartfelt post and I know that a lot of other brides can relate to it. It wasn’t an easy one to write, but I love how well it captured my emotions on the whole matter.

With the day gone in a blur behind me, there I stood in the bridal suite, emotions awakened with a stomach full of butterflies and the heavy feeling of happy tears pushing on my eyes. I was just moments away from living out my little girl dream of walking down the aisle to marry the man I love.

Though my dreams weren’t quite my reality, I couldn’t help but think back and reflect on how much of that little girl still remained within. Read more…

I'm planning a rustic, country-chic wedding in my hometown in upstate New York and it's going to be a Party with a capital P. White wine, flea markets and running keep me happy and my friends, family and fiance are my world. I'm a little bit crafty, a little bit crazy but mostly just crazy in love.
It’s time for what I think is going to be my favorite recaps of the bunch: the ceremony. We had numerous “Not a dry eye in the house”-type comments from our guests and I like to think it’s because the whole thing was genuinely a reflection of the two of us.
While the ceremony was Jewish, we incorporated other elements that spoke to us and together with our rabbi, crafted the most memorable 30 minutes of my life. I know I’m not alone when I speak of prior worries about being “present” for the ceremony and now, from the other side, I can safely say that for me, those fears were completely unfounded.
I was there. Of all the moments from our wedding, the ones that I feel the most deeply are those from the ceremony. I can see so clearly every single second of it in my mind’s eye and can vividly remember the intense emotions throughout. And now, I’m going to attempt to tell you guys about it.
So, here we go…
With everyone seated and waiting, it was time to get this show on the road.

Yes, it’s finally time for Part III (the final portion) of our ‘All The Pretty Details’ series. You’ve already seen (and hopefully drooled over) our handcrafted-florals and read on as I showed off my bridal attire. Now it’s time for the good stuff! You know, the stuff that truly makes a wedding memorable; the details that fill out a reception hall and encompass a theme.
Let’s start off with our amazing programs…

My dear friend Shannon helped us out big time and created these beauties all on her own (though I hear she had some last-minute help putting them together the day before the wedding).

We all know that a wedding isn’t a wedding without all the itty bitty details (well, at least in blog world) and, it’s quite clear that the details were very important to me. Even with hair and makeup finished and my wedding look complete, my wedding vision wouldn’t have been whole without them.
Before we begin our ceremony recaps I want to share with you all the lovely details that set our wedding apart and made it our own. Today we will focus on the handcrafted florals!
Flowers for the Girls:
First up, my beautiful, hand-crafted, vintage-inspired, fabric-floral bouquet!

As I mentioned in my last post, my emotions were playing tricks on me and decided to hide while I prepped for the day. It was awfully surprising since up until that point even thinking about my day brought tears of joy and excitement to my eyes. With moments to go, I began to wonder what happened to those feelings of happiness, anticipation and eagerness. Had I become emotionally numb? Not in the slightest. All I needed was a little shove and my dress was ready for some pushing (or squeezing).

For most brides the morning of the wedding would include getting showered, dressed, and beautified. For me, it included a quick shower, frantically finishing my last two bridesmaids’ bouquets and running through to-do-lists in my slightly overwhelmed brain, all while remaining amazingly calm.
Before I even began to grasp the thought that my wedding day was actually there, it was 11 o’clock and time to meet the hairdressers at the venue. They were running a little bit late which gave my girls and me time to order a couple of bottles of wine and lunch from the cafe.
There we sat, wine glasses filled and chatting it up while I worked on my last-minute projects. Soon enough the hairdressers arrived and began working on the girls. Before long, it was my turn in the seat and I was forced to retire my projects at hand. It was then 1:30PM and I should have had time to quickly finish what I had been working on once the stylist was done (after all, the trial only took about an hour). Well, you can imagine my utter surprise when I looked up (what seemed) a short while later to see my photographer! Ummmm…WTH! I quickly panicked…and shouted, “Oh no, it’s 3 already!?! I need to finish Mr. L’s boutonniere!” Read more…

It has been 3 weeks since we Lockets said our I dos. Seriously?! How has it already been 3 weeks?!?! Can you believe how fast time flies?!? Either way, the honeymoon is over, I’ve adjusted to being back at work, and our apartment is finally getting organized. Since I’ve been back I had been hoping to share with you our honeymoon recaps (because it was FUN), but we’ve had some photo-uploading issues and I don’t want to keep you waiting in anticipation any longer (in case you were). Let the wedding recaps begin!
