Yup. I’m one of THOSE people, the people who buy things they see on TV (hi, Mr. Ducky!). I still use the Super Chef knives I bought in 1997, sometimes even to cut through aluminum cans! Sorry, can’t find the link. Evidently they didn’t take the country by storm as expected.
In my defense, it’s hereditary. I’m pretty sure I saw Miracle Blade knives at my…

I have about a thousand inspiration pictures scattered about my laptop, and soon I’ll have another bazillion wedding pictures. Organization must be imposed before that happens, so I’m pleading for input. How do you archive your digital files, both off- and online?

While at the Aveda salon the other day getting my makeup done (oh, have I not blogged about that? *innocent look*), my stylist got to telling me about her sister’s fun and fabulous beach wedding. I was poised to hear all about the over-the-top resort or the phenomenal food when I heard this:
“They gave us these great welcome bags with all of their favorite candy…

It’s time, dear friends, to talk about the biggest elephant in the room, the one we don’t talk about because, HELLO, it’s the internet and who’s nutty enough to be that honest? That would be me. What can I say? I’m a sucker for talking about the things nobody talks about, and it was pointed out recently that this is the biggest one of those.

(Yes, we took this picture during our e-pic session. Foreshadowing? Let’s hope not!)
I want to talk about the thing nobody talks about: fighting with your fiance during your engagement.
I don’t know why we all don’t talk about it more. Do we worry that it means we’re with the wrong person? (*raising hand sheepishly even though I know better*) Do we wonder if other people will…

I did it. I made a name decision, AND got an email account in my new name. Scary and super exciting! Then I told Mr. Cheese about it all… in reverse order. *cue the confused man look*
A friend recently changed her email address due to a divorce-induced name change and was unable to get one with her more common maiden name. Uh oh. I’m going…

I’ve learned a lesson. Well, okay, I’ve been learning a lesson, continue to keep learning a lesson, am trying to learn a lesson.
Easy is not always best.
Way back when we first got engaged, I came up with this crazy two wedding solution to keep my family from having to travel. Seriously, C.R.A.Z.Y., complete with repeating our vows days after we said our vows so that both sets of…

All along, my personal Bridezilla limit was getting all worked up making sure the napkins matched everything else. Now, don’t get me wrong, I admire and respect the use of napkins to continue a color scheme or theme throughout a room, but I’m at peace with the fact that I’m neither inclined nor capable of doing that without angst.

I have yet another secret to share with you. If you, like me, are trying to have a great home or backyard wedding on an extreme budget, you will love me.
It’s a fabulous place where you can get basic stuff that you need for very little money; so little, in fact, that you might be tempted to buy your glassware and tableware rather than mess…

So, on a recent post, I got called out on the fact that I’ve been blogging about planning a wedding, and not actually telling you about the plans.
And whoa, boy, have I been busy. You’ll be proud (and if you’re not, can you fake it for me, because I’m rather proud?) of how much I’ve done in a few short weeks.

I’ve collected quotes for a while, copied into the notes section of my email program. Here are a few more of my favorites:
She is a friend of mind. She gather me, man. The pieces I am, she gather them and give them back to me in all the right order. It’s good, you know, when you got a woman who is a friend of your…

I know that the all-wedding, all-the-time mode that I seem to be on is tiring for you, especially because I know that you’d be perfectly happy with a quick courthouse wedding and a nice dinner out. I also know that part of the reason that my obsessing drives you nuts is that, it seems to you, it just leads to me stressing out. You hate…

Yesterday’s rant about our dear fiances and their sometime lack of understanding of the bazillion details that brides have to handle struck a chord with me. Yea, duh, since I wrote it, but also because I so related to all of your comments. I kept thinking, I’m having a hard time with the details — yea, because I don’t want…
