Sorry for the delay, hive! These recaps take a long time to put together, because I get caught up in all of our pictures when trying to choose the few to use to tell the story of our wedding day. Did I mention that our fabulous photographer gave us over 1200 edited images? It’s overwhelming, and every time I look through them, I find new favorites.
Once again, all photos (except where noted) are by the wonderful Samantha Warren of Samantha Warren Weddings.
When we left off, I was dressed and decked out in my new jewelry—courtesy of my soon-to-be new husband. I was a little tear stained from the note he had written me, and we were ready to go…
I had totally forgotten that there would be flowers! I was blown away when I saw my bouquet:

And finally… the pro pics!
All photos in this post (and please note, these aren’t the full resolution files—they’re way too huge!) are by the extremely talented and all-around delightful Samantha Warren of Samantha Warren Weddings (previously known as I Do Click Photography). We are just simply overwhelmed by all of the beautiful images that she captured. We knew we loved her work, but after clicking through our photos over and over again, we just can’t believe what a perfect job she had done at capturing the story of our day. I’ve mentioned that we booked Sam on an impulse after looking through the images on her website, and I can’t tell you how lucky we are to have had her there on our wedding day. More to come, but for now—since we can’t say it enough—thank you, Sam!
Below is the morning, set to music. I think that Sam did such an amazing job that the pictures tell the story by themselves. If you’d like to hear me tell it too, then keep reading. ![]()

Now that the tent was up, lanterns hung, and porta-potties in the right spot, all that was left to do was rehearse for Saturday-Oh wait, I mean, all that was left to do was that and to check Weddingbee one last time:

Ok, phew, now we can rehearse.

I didn’t disappear! I apologize, hive, for my slacking in the blogging department. I could give you all sorts of excuses on why I haven’t started my wedding recap yet, but the important thing is I’m back and ready to share some stories!
First off, let me just say that I L-O-V-E being married. All of the planning, the stressing, the hours upon hours of putting this thing together was worth it not only for the day, but also for all the days that have followed it. Mr. T and I have now been married for one month, and I can’t tell you how wonderful it has been. I keep having this feeling like I’m on a fabulous vacation that I don’t want to end… and then I remember that this is for good! Waking up in the morning next to my best friend and falling asleep next to him at night- it doesn’t get any better.
But back to that hard work part… in my very first post as a bee, I mentioned that we were renting a lawn and “building our wedding from the ground up”. Well I didn’t really mean that as literally as these next few pictures show, but here’s how things shaped up on the Thursday before our Saturday wedding…

Wow- what a whirlwind the past two weeks have been! Mr. Tiramisu and I returned to Maryland late last night after an amazing honeymoon, and I still can’t quite believe that this whole crazy thing happened! July 19th was by far THE best day of my life so far. It was quite simply, unbelievable- for lots of reasons. Believe me when I say I’ve got some interesting stories to tell! We’re still waiting on the pictures, so I’ll leave you for now with just a few of my thoughts of the day…

Dear Mr. Tiramisu,
I can’t believe it. At this time tomorrow I’ll be your wife. This moment has been so long in coming, yet it seems like yesterday that we were freshmen in college, just having met. I was dancing with you for the first time, nervously sneaking glances up at you, wondering if you were going to kiss me. You did, and look where it took us! I hear that our wedding day is going to fly by- it will be over before we know it- but that wife part, it’s going to last forever. I can’t think of anything in the whole world that makes me happier.
What a lucky, lucky girl I am.
I have truly loved planning our wedding. I just cannot wait to have all the people in the world that we love all together, surrounding us in this way- and it’s going to be one hell of a party too! But the honest truth is, I would have married you at city hall. On a Tuesday. In sweatpants. (Maybe I could have goccoed some wedding announcements.)

I stopped by my florist today to go over some last minute details and LOOK what I found:
Dark blue hydrangea, mini calla lilies, delphinium and freesia for my bouquet, light blue for the bridesmaids. The dark blue ones came from the Netherlands! Who knew! You wouldn’t know by the price.
The other night on Miss Gingerbread’s BeeTV broadcast, a question was posed to us Bees with only a few days left until our weddings: “What did you want to do that you just didn’t get done?” I couldn’t really think of anything at the time, which I I took as a pretty awesome sign that I’ve actually finished up almost all of the projects that I wanted to do. Later on though, I realized that part of me does wish we were doing more for out of town baskets. I had big dreams (I never actually considered spending that much, don’t worry!), and saw some drool-worthy examples out there, but with around 50 parties of out-of-towners, it just wasn’t feasible to do much.
Mr. T and I decided that the most important things were to make our guests feel welcome, and to make their visit as easy as possible by providing them with all the important information. So, without further ado, I give you our very pared down welcome baskets folders.
Welcome to Maine, here’s a folder!
I can’t really take too much credit for these… I stole borrowed the design from Mrs. Emerald and Mrs. Eggplant, and had them cut at Staples (best $3 ever spent). They were folded and assembled with help by my family members. The whole process really went a lot faster than I thought it was going to, and I’m pretty happy with how they turned out!
Cover done with Gocco (I wish you could see the lighter blue color in the corners better in this photo), card stock from paperandmore.com, ribbon (same as invitations) from MJ Trim.
We are getting so close to the wedding! I think my level of nervousness is finally getting overtaken by my level of excitement! It’s so great to see everything start to come together. When my Maid of Honor Carolyn came to visit last weekend, I had her try on the whole bridesmaid ensemble from head-to-toe (she is a really good sport!)
It was so fun to see this:
This board was made months ago when I was trying to decide on the pashmina color, but I think these are correct: (clockwise from flip flops): JCrew, ebay seller Aileen3535, etsy seller SandySimone, Ann Taylor (dress), Kenneth Cole Reaction via Zappos, Ann Taylor (necklace), unknown ebay seller (sorry)

Three make-up trials, two hair trials, and finally- one happy bride-to-be!
Thank you all for your suggestions on my makeup trials! I was fully prepared to be doing my own makeup on the big day, but now I am so relieved to have found someone to do it for me so that I can just relax!
After all of my frustration with the first two trials, I was cautiously hopeful about this last one. My hairdresser, Colleen, did my hair from the time I was 14 until my freshman year of college. During that time she welcomed two beautiful babies in to her family, and had considerably cut back the hours of her salon, which she runs out of her home. I didn’t think to call her right away, since I had lost touch with her and didn’t know if she was still available for weddings, especially since mine would mean traveling about an hour away. It was on the drive home from one of my disastrous trials that I searched in my cell phone to see if her number was even still there. It was, I called, and that’s when I started to feel much better about the whole thing. Read more…
A quick post just to show one of the many projects occupying my time this week- this was actually a really quick and really inexpensive one! Our take on the wish bowl guest book:
Two of my Mom’s best friends threw me a bridal shower in Maine this past weekend. It was wonderful, and I was so much more relaxed than at the first shower I had, since I actually knew everyone in attendance at this one!
It had all the ingredients for a perfect shower…
Great gifts (and optimistic guests who think Miss Tiramisu turning into
Mrs. Tiramisu might mean she finally learns how to cook).
I know I was desperate for this information when I was trying to figure out the guest list, so I hope this helps someone!
We invited 252 people to our wedding. One week after our RSVPs were due, we have 184 attending, 64 not attending, and 4 that we still haven’t heard from (and at this point we assume aren’t coming). So that’s a yes rate of 73%. If you break it down by in-state versus out-of-state, 63/74 Mainers will be coming (85%), and 121/178 out-of-staters will be coming (68%). And yes, if you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a big dork.
We offered an email address option for RSVP’ing, but only 14 people took us up on it- 11 to say they were coming, 3 to say they weren’t, and one second cousin to say “thank you very much but actually my husband and I are divorcing and won’t be attending” (eeek).
Out of the 184, exactly 92 are my guests, and 92 are Mr. Tiramisu’s! We’ll be filling the church up nice and evenly
