I would consider the bridal shower I threw this past Memorial Day a success despite some really hot and sunny weather!

Let’s pretend that there isn’t an umbrella in the picture above. It was beautiful outside, but maybe a little too beautiful for the dessert table. 90-something degrees with no shade makes for a little melted chocolate… hence the umbrella. Melted or not, I think the red, white, and aqua color scheme really came across well on the dessert bar! The Jones soda really brought it all together, I think.

The next stop on our honeymoon was to a place that we would never have considered if it wasn’t part of the cruise itinerary. We had never heard anything about Dubrovnik, Croatia until booking our trip, and after booking, we kept hearing how beautiful it was. “Beautiful” ended up being quite the understatement.

We arrived in Dubrovnik and added some sunrise pictures to our collection before setting off on our Croatian safari.

There is a serious of commercials out right now that make me tear up every time. No, I’m not talking about the Sarah McLachlan, tug-at-your-heart-strings-with-cute-puppies ASPCA commercials. I’m talking about the Pure Michigan commercials.

Huh? There are advertisements promoting Michigan, of all places? You betcha! Grab some tissues and check it out:

OK, it might be just me that gets teary-eyed by these, but I love my home state! Many people don’t realize how absolutely beautiful Michigan is, especially Western Michigan. So, if you’re looking for a place to relax with your honey before or after the wedding, you’re in luck! We are creeping up on the perfect time to visit. And being the Midwest, things are cheap, cheapy cheap! Hooray!
