My dress is here! My beautiful, silky Pronovias Diamante! But before we get into photos and video from my fitting, let’s play a game so you can understand the state of mind I was in when I finally went to my fitting last Friday.
This game is called “Find Miss Cherry Pie’s Dress,” and I’ve been playing it since the first expected delivery date, which was over two months ago. Let’s play now!
Where could my dress be? It’s the end of May. Is it here?
Nope.
It’s the end of June. Is it here?
Nope.
It’s the date of my first scheduled fitting. Is it here, like you said it was when I called?

I have got waaaayy too much pie on my plate. Between conferences, work, wedding and, well… life, I just haven’t had a still second to my day to sit down and write. I am a major stress cadet when I don’t feel organized, and my lack of blogging is starting to make me feel CRAZY. I have so much to write about! Read more…

Yo, Hive! I’ve been away on business, which means I haven’t had any time to dedicate to wedding plans. This has been both a blessing and a curse: A blessing, since it’s nice to have a break, but a curse because we’re getting close to “go time” and there’s a lot to do.
Thankfully, before I left for the conference, I had a great opportunity to shovel a lot of wedding-related tasks off of my plate. I’ve been looking forward to all the crafty projects that present themselves right before the wedding– programs, table numbers, escort cards, wedding signs, favors, etc– but I didn’t know how I would manage them all. I had a few good ideas I was planning to take on myself, when it occurred to me that I could just delegate, and with better results!
Delegation is an art that seems to be lost on many DIY brides, myself included. It’s tough to relinquish control of projects you’ve conceived. Or, in my case, to remember that there are other people who might be able to do things better, faster, and, with the right tools, more inexpensively. Read more…

When last you heard from me about Mr. Cherry Pie’s wedding band, I was considering a tungsten carbide ring. Because EternalTungsten.com didn’t make rings in Mr. Cherry’s size, we went down to E.E. Robbins, Seattle’s engagement ring store to look at the tungsten bands they had in stock.
There were plenty of options, but none were just right for Mr. Cherry Pie. Some of the designs weren’t “him,” and many didn’t have the comfortable, low-profile fit that he wanted.
Wouldn’t ya know it though, there was this absolutely beautiful platinum and 18 karat ring sitting right next to the tungsten bands…

About the time I first started reading wedding blogs, I saw an inspiration board on Snippet & Ink called “A Little Bit Country” that made my heart beat a little bit faster. It wasn’t the color scheme, or even the overall similarity of the ambiance to my own country wedding. It was the image in the second row, third from the left. A vintage mailbox featured on Grapevine weddings to showcase their invitations:

Our taste-testing adventure continued in Polebridge at the Northern Lights Saloon. The saloon is Polebridge’s one and only restaurant, run by the daughter of the merc’s owners. Occasionally, they hire an outside chef for the season, but this summer it looks like she will be the one cooking for us.
The Northern Lights is another of Polebridge’s great vintage buildings, complete with a front porch for kickin’ up yo heels:
You can’t see it in that photo, but there is a sign on the porch that says “unleashed dogs will be eaten.” Read more…

Now that you have an idea of what it’s like in Polebridge, maybe you can help me figure out which of the following favors from the funky Polebridge Mercantile would best serve as a memento for our guests.
Our maximum budget is $500, which equates to $5 per person (for 100 guests max), though it would be nice to spend less and still give a nice gift. We’ve got several options in or around that price range…
1. Homemade cookies!
The merc makes a LARGE variety of deeelicious cookies (not pictured). And at 3 for a dollar, they are a steal. We could easily package these up in some cellophane with a ribbon or a custom sticker and give them to guests. Everyone loves cookies… but they wouldn’t last long!
