Cupcakes just made sense for the Cheetah wedding. We love cupcakes, they’re cheaper, and since dessert is being served away from the dinner tables, it made more sense to serve something that didn’t require a plate and fork (don’t worry, there will be plenty of napkins!). Plus, cupcakes will look great on our sweets table and we can get them is lots of scrumptious flavors! It was hard narrowing down the flavors for our wedding from the dozens of options on our baker’s menu, but after two (yes, two) tastings with our baker I think we have it figured out.

At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted a bridal handbag, it didn’t seem like I’d need it that much. However I did think it might be nice to have somewhere to stash some powder and lip gloss, so I just figured I’d use a bag I already own, borrow one, or sew up something sweet and simple.
Then I saw this sweet sparkly little lady at almost 60% off and I decided that I did in fact need a new fancy bridal bag.

Like most brides and grooms I knew to set up a couple hotel room blocks at discount, but I was happy to discover that you can set up group discounts for air travel, as well. Since we’re having a semi-destination wedding and a large portion of our guests will be traveling to Palm Springs by plane, we’re quick to jump on board anything that makes getting to the Cheetah wedding easier on our guests.

When you read as many wedding blogs and magazines as I do (I know I’m not the only wedding p*rn addict out there), you become pretty aware of all the current wedding trends. I’m not one to blindly follow a trend just to be “in,” but I’m also not one to shy away from a trend just because it’s, well, trendy. So which trends are “in” and which ones are “out” for the Cheetah wedding?
Probably out. I love photo booths, I do. I’ve only been to one wedding that had one and it was a ton of fun. But I have no idea where we’d put it and there is the extra cost/project to consider as well. I’m also worried that there would be a line and it would take people off the dance floor. We’re not having kids in the wedding party which means we won’t have a ring bearer. So, we need to figure out another way to get those wedding bands to the altar.

I am not a particularly sweaty person by nature, but every now and then and often out of nowhere, I get a bad case of the sweats. I’m talking needing-to-blow-dry-your-underarms-with-a-hair-dryer sweats. It’s more likely to happen when I’m nervous or excited, but it can happen for no reason at all. I only get the crazy sweats a couple times a year, so normally it’s not a problem…but I really want to make sure that the wedding isn’t one of those times.

My grandma keeps a wall of wedding photos from all the weddings of her eight children in her den. When visiting my grandma, I always stop and take a minute to check out all the pictures. With weddings from the late ’70s through the late ’90s, the photos are not only wonderful family mementos, but also an amusing walk through time—and fashion (can you say lavender cummerbund?).

Mr. Cheetah has 6 groomsmen and we want their suiting to be similar to Mr. Cheetah’s look. So we are searching for slim fitting black two-button suits. The problem is we are looking reasonable priced (under $200) suits in a large range of sizes, and it’s no easy task. 6’ 5″ Baby Bro Cheetah needs an extra long suit…and those babies ain’t easy to find.
