I love to dance regardless of who is watching, and enjoy a good laugh with my girls. I have a soft spot in my heart for planet Earth, my two dogs and my fiance. Fall is my favorite season (which is why we are marrying in September), but I love a warm summer day and the Colorado mountains in the winter. We are planning a modern soiree downtown, with lots of bold colors, and fun, eco-friendly elements.

My family emigrated from Romania to San Jose, CA when I was 8, and I've been a Nor Cal girl ever since! My fiancé is also a Bay Area native, so it’s funny that we met at UCLA, as college freshmen living on the same floor (go Bruins!). Between his career as an Air Force pilot and my path to becoming a lawyer, our relationship has been anything but typical. We currently live together in Berkeley with our puppy Stinson. In addition to spending time with the loves of my life, I enjoy crafting, attempting complicated recipes, environmental law and non-law school reading (Us Weekly, anyone?). Follow along as I plan an elegant 200-person winery wedding, graduate law school, take the Bar exam, get married and get used to the always unpredictable but never boring life of a military spouse!
Exactly one year before our wedding, something happened that changed the Jelly household forever. We adopted a puppy! We started the process just 2 weeks before and he came home with us on our 1 year pre-wedding-aversary! He’s a rescue pup, so we’re not sure about his exact breed, but we’re told he’s part-pug, part-dachshund (and possibly part-basenji).
This is what he looked like when we adopted him at 10 weeks old. (Photo courtesy of Smiley Dog Rescue)
Initially, I wanted to name him Barney after our favorite How I Met Your Mother character, Barney Stinson: Read more…

An optimist at heart, my motto is to turn your "what ifs?" into "so whats!". My fiance is a radio producer and the biggest Cubs fan you'll meet - our apartment decor definitely shows it. He and I grew up next door to each other and because of it, we have the best home videos and easiest holiday dinners. We are planning an intimate wedding in the Virgin Islands and a cocktail party in June for 150 of our closest friends.
My doggies are my babies. I love them to death and can’t wait to get home from work every day to see them. When I open the door, their whole butts wag, and it’s a wonderful feeling to know that these little ones are SO happy to see me after a long day.

I think every day should include good thin crust pizza, chocolate, an obscure historical monument, lots of laughter, a dash of wedding planning and, of course, amazing Mr. Pencils! I'm loving the adventure of planning a Maryland wedding and Rocky Mountain reception, and most of all, I just love love!
The most time consuming, costly decision best decision Mr. Pencils and I have made since deciding to get married was to get Boomer. Boomer is our 18 pound, dachshund mix puppy that we adopted from K-9 Lifesavers in Washington DC last April.
I’d had a hankering for a puppy for a good two years now, and when it came time for us to finally move in together, there was no better time. I spent Spring Break of 2009 hounding (haha) Mr. Pencils to help me fill out applications for dozens of rescue leagues. We didn’t care what kind of dog we would get—we just knew it had to be under 30 pounds, as our townhouse would have been a sad fit for a larger dog.
When I say applications, I truly do mean a pretty intensive vetting processes for every animal shelter, rescue league and adoption agency. Read more…
Mrs. Pug, New York City/Half Moon Bay, CAAge and Occupation: 33, LawyerFiance's Age and Occupation: 32, dittoEngagement Date: July 2008Wedding Date: March 2010Venue: Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon BayAbout Me: The Mr. and I are two 30-somethings who enjoy tasty sweets of all kinds, our neighborhood wine store, and cuddling with our pug. NYC is where we live and the city we love, but we’re doing the deed out in Northern California. We are trying to keep the affair small, intimate, and manageable. Our motto is: the less people, the better! (I’m kidding.)
In my last post, I wrote about my aversion to having children (which stemmed from the fear of being a big ol’ loser at parenting). Anyway, strangely enough, as my relationship with Mr. Pug progressed, I found myself more and more open the idea of raising kids. It’s now to the point that I have baby fever—I really want a kid and I will steal one if I have to (also keep in mind that I’ll be close to 34 when we get married, so I better get crackin’… I am kidding about the stealing part).
The fever has led me to do things like this (not advised):
So, how did this happen? I’m not entirely sure. Let me throw out a few things that I’m thinking. Read more…

For 32 years of my life, I absolutely did not want children. I know I’m not alone in this. Walking through crowds of children at a museum or on Halloween would literally make my heart beat faster and send involuntary shivers up my spine. When I thought of children, this is what I would picture:
Mrs. Cowboy Boot, Santa FeAge and Occupation: 25, Magazine EditorFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Artist and Whitewater Rafting GuideEngagement Date: April 28th, 2008Wedding Date: October 2009Venue: Devil's Thumb Ranch, ColoradoAbout Me: I grew up in Los Angeles and have since lived in San Diego, Boston, Italy, Hawaii, New York City, and Santa Fe. I speak Italian and love pasta. My real passion is the outdoors, though. When I'm not at work, I'm snowboarding, hiking with my two dogs, mountain biking, surfing, cross-country-skiing, or boating New Mexico's rivers. Despite my boyish love for adventure, I'm a girly-girl at heart and am overly-excited to pull off the romantic, vintage-inspired, country wedding of my dreams.
There were two things we really wanted to include in our wedding that didn’t happen: 1) our dogs and 2) our “thank you” signs, done in calligraphy. The reasons we didn’t include our precious pups as ring bearers? Debated here.
Our “thank you” signage, penned by Pretty Pen Jen, never made it out of the cabin where all of the ladies got ready on the morning of the wedding. There was too much going on and they simply got left behind. Halfway through the night, our photographer, Tec, asked if I wanted someone to go grab them, but I declined his offer saying, “We’ll shoot them when we get home.” And that’s just how our thank you cards came to be.
Mrs. French Fries, MilwaukeeAge and Occupation: 27, ParalegalFiance's Age and Occupation: 35, Investments AdvisorEngagement Date: September 20, 2008Wedding Date: June 2010Venue: Ceremony: Catholic Church, Reception: Hotel BallroomAbout Me: I'm a Midwestern girl who longs to live in a warmer climate (my feet would be happy in flip flops any day!). I love travel, impromptu napping, grilled cheese sandwiches, my iPhone, singing with reckless abandon in my car, and Mr. French Fries.
To say that Mr. French Fries and I are “animal people” is a bit of an understatement. To illustrate this point, this was the picture featured on our holiday card this year:
(Shout out to French Fry Dad for taking this picture.
Getting the cat to look at the camera was like nailing Jell-O to the wall.)
Maybe I should explain how we got to the point where the animals in our household outnumber the humans! You see, before I met Mr. FF, I was living the single-girl life with the requisite downtown apartment, complete with a cat. Read more…

I'm fashion and beauty obsessed, and have recently discovered my inner domestic diva extraordinaire. I'm a wannabe chef, decorating addict, and trying desperately to be as crafty as possible---albeit only with a glue gun. I'm hopelessly in love with my fiance, and all things sparkly and feathery. Despite the glittery exterior, I'm a total hippie on the inside. When I'm not making up pretty faces, I love doing what I can to help people, animals, and the environment. Someday the FI and I will change the world, but first we're tackling our modern-vintage-Marie-Antoinette-meets-Alice-in-Wonderland inspired wedding. I just can't wait to be Mrs. Rainbow!

I know I’ve previously posted about our pugs and the wedding, but I am posting again because I love dogs (and I’m not alone, if youlookthroughWeddingbee archives). All of ’em. Big, small, furry, fur-less (yes, even those), rescue, mutt, purebred—you name it, I love them. Mr. Pug gets so tired of me fawning after every dog we see on the street that he grabs my hand and pulls me forward in order to save ourselves some embarrassment. Dogs just make me happy.
Okay, there was *one* dog that I hated, and I use that word understanding the full force and extremity behind it. I dog-sat for this small, obnoxious, ill-trained, super-alpha dog once and we had a battle of wills.

I love to bake, knit and sew but I also ride a motorcycle (that Mr. Guinea Pig wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole). We live with our three crazy cats and love to read, travel, watch movies, and do home improvement projects together! My parents/family are Canadian but I'm definitely American, although I've lived in 5 different countries, 6 different states, and speak Russian fluently. Mr. GP and I met online (did I mention I'm a scientist?) and had a whirlwind romance - now we can't wait to get married & celebrate with all our friends and family in a blue and yellow waterfront affair!
Things started normally enough - I had one cat, Mr. Guinea Pig had two. Then we moved in together, and now we have three! If you thought, ‘Psh, three’s not that many,’ then you obviously haven’t met our cats (well, I guess you were introduced to Buster in my introductory post)!

Some of you may scoff in disdain at this post. Don’t comment. Really. Because I will flood you with nasty private messages, find out where you live and… oh wait, too far? Amongst our family members, we have four pugs. I’m sure most of you pet owners out there will understand when I say that these pugs are family to us. Before I got my pug I kind of laughed at how obsessed people were with their pets—I have now happily and shamelessly joined their ranks. For a while I made her food from scratch, we bring her on trips, and we have multiple coats, rain coats, winter booties, and a Halloween costume for her (not that you need these things to be a true pet lover, I am just lame that way). Here the victims of our adoration.

While they won’t be walking down an aisle, because that would pretty much turn into a furious hunt for treats, we wanted them to have a little pizazz for pre-ceremony photos.
I looked on Etsy and found these flowered dog collars made by Pecan Pie Puppies. They are about $20-24. Read more…
Mrs. Spaniel, Los AngelesAge and Occupation: 28, Law StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, PsychologistWedding Date: March 2010Venue: Calamigos RanchAbout Me: I'm a third-year law student trying to balance graduating with starting my career, keeping up a relationship, and, oh yeah, planning an Old World, multi-cultural, "mountain lodge" wedding for 180 guests! A South Asian Jewish girl getting ready to marry my handsome Catholic Dane, I'm hoping to blend our cultures in our wedding just a bit more gently than by providing samosas as appetizers and offering æbleskiver for dessert. (Although that would also be awesome.)
One of the unusual perks of our venue is that it allows dogs on-site—in fact, it has two resident dogs! And you do realize what that means, don’t you? More time with the Chelster!
Chelsea doesn’t like to have her picture taken
Chelsea is pretty much one of my favorite living things, and we could actually bring Chelsea to the wedding! Even though we won’t have children at our wedding (mostly because there are no children in our families yet), we could, in fact, have a ring bearer! Or maybe she should be a flower girl? Of course, it would be a ring bearer (or flower girl) who walked half-sideways, and would probably try to jump on my dress during the ceremony, and might bark at anyone who didn’t want her affectionate attention, but still!

We are complete opposites, resulting in a wedding to include bridesmaids in pearls and groomsmen in Adidas shell toes. I’m a sorority girl at heart with strong addictions to my blackberry, cherry Chapstick, Coach purses, the Boston Red Sox and our fur baby, Bella. I can’t wait to the throw the party of our lives and of course, marry my best friend!
We take Weddingbee and being a bee very seriously over here in the Cloud house. So you can only guess what our fur baby Bella was dressed as for Halloween this year!!!

We’ve all seen those photos of sweet little pink-cheeked children looking oh-so angelic at weddings, with their mussed up curls and their cute little dresses. Seriously, who doesn’t love a little boy in a tiny suit?:
