So you spend 2 years planning and anticipating for your wedding day. Of course, aiming for perfection, down to the minute details. But you know what, I have learned that no matter how much or how long you have planned, and no matter how many lists you make- life happens!

I just wanted to share with all of you some of our memorable wedding moments.…

10. Waking up to “Going to the Chapel” playing in the background.

9. Having all my bridesmaids and family around me before going to our ceremony just comforted me knowing that everyone was behind us during this union.

8. Seeing my dad in his tuxedo. This was a first for my dad - wearing a tux - so I felt so overwhelmed seeing him all spiffed up.

7. No Rain – Rain was…

It has been forever since our wedding but I never got around to sharing with you all what about the day I would do again, and what about the day I would do over.

I’m going to start with the former for this post.

Mr. Peacock and I went to a gorgeous wedding in St. Louis for two of my college friends last Labor Day weekend. Since most of their guests were out-of-towners, they had a whole weekend of festivities planned. Mr. Peacock and I stayed at the hotel where the wedding was located and, since it was a Marriott and Mr. Peacock collects Marriott points like sunshine, we had a lovely room down…

But sadly, they are getting to the end of their mini-moon. We decided to take seven days after the wedding away from home, to relax and be married! And now we are on our way back, where we will have to prepare at super speed for our six month honeymoon.But I also can’t wait to post all the details. We had such a fun night!

Happy New Year!!

So, after a month of wonderful craziness–my wedding on Dec 8th, followed by an 11-day honeymoon in Mexico, followed by a week of holiday shopping and celebrating–we’re back!

The wedding was perfect!! Okay, so things went wrong (as they always do), but even with the little bumps in the road I wouldn’t change a thing. I can’t wait to share all the details,…

A lot of people seem to want to know about the branches we used for our centerpieces, so here it is! We bought sandblasted manzanita from Nettleton Hollow and just laid the orchid blooms on the branches. That’s it! No glue, no wiring, they were just placed around the branches. I won’t say it was super fast since we had to do so many, but…

Last Thursday, Mrs. Poppy, Mrs. Violet, Bridesmaid Lambchop and I got together for dinner and coffee. After seeing their new bobs, I was inspired to take the dive as well. I kept my hair on the long side for the last 2 years for the wedding.  It was so refreshing when the hair stylist took 6-7 inches and began chopping away.

Well, I inspired Mrs. Snow Pea to begin her wedding recap from her stunning August wedding, and she’s inspired me to share how I felt on my wedding day instead just sharing the who/what/when and my photos. I hope you enjoy.

…but I FINALLY took the shadow box that I used to make the Guest Book Wish Tree Sign and made a memory box of our invitation suite.

Let me tell you a very wonderful thing to look forward to - the feeling of walking out of your reception to the elevator, and then to your bridal suite. I (finally) ordered our thank you cards! Mr. Eggplant and I were married on October 20th, so it looks like I just may make the two-month etiquette deadline for sending out thank you cards (that is, if I can get myself to sit down and pound them out this week ).

I absolutely LOVED our florist. Utopian Design created some amazing displays for us, and even added something a little special into the bouquet for me.

All of the fun little details do add up in the end… and I can honestly say that it was worth the blood, sweat and tears. [The tears came on the Wednesday before the wedding... when I couldn’t find something somewhere in some box, and when I did... oh boy did the tears fall!] Instead of spending money on fancy linens and chargers, we just…
