While I realize how photojournalistic style is in vogue, one of the things that really intrigued us about our photographer was her ability to pose a picture. I’d read enough horror stories about brides who got 997 photos from their photog without one single picture of her and her family together, or with grandma, etc., to know that I wanted some posed shots just for the posterity of it all.
Whee! More photos. I promise the upcoming ones after this entry won’t focus on me as much. Yeesh, I’m tired of looking at myself already.
In case you missed it, here are the photos I already posted:

I will post more in-depth vendor reviews eventually, but I won’t even list them in my entries unless I would recommend them. I was fortunate to have an awesome team of vendors who made our wedding day run smoothly, mostly stress-free, and beautiful! Please let them know I sent you when you contact them.
Again, all photos by M. Norwood Photography unless otherwise noted.

Buying your first home as husband and wife is a huge accomplishment and no easy task. Mr. Onion and I have started seriously looking for an apartment in NYC. We did the math and figured out what we would be spending on rent over the next 4-5 years (assuming we stayed where we are and our rent was never increased — ha), and realized it would be more than enough for a down payment! We want to start building equity, make a good investment and it would be so nice to have a place to call our own.
An example of my dream apartment — anyone have 8-10 million dollars to loan us? Or better yet, a generous wedding gift?! Haha.

I finally have professional photos from our day uploaded and ready to share. Let’s start at the beginning, shall we? I will probably post the details by category first, then loop back and post photos of the key parts of the event in chronological order. It’s pretty overwhelming sorting all these photos, but it’s a fun way to reminisce upon the day.
All photos are copyright M. Norwood Photography, unless otherwise noted. Also, please note these are from digital proofs. The actual, high-resolution photos are even better!
At 8 AM, we girls got up and started to get pretty, oh so pretty.

*sigh*
There is nothing more saddening than knowing at this time last week I was asleep, blissfully unaware of anything work-related, enjoying my time in Las Vegas. Now, I am sitting in the office, needing to do some work but still reliving our wedding in my head.
To help me along with this mental imagery, here are some more random pics I’ve grabbed from family.
Here is us at the altar

As always, I give MAJOR, MAJOR credit to Kate Whitney Lucey for my awesome, awesome pro-pics!

Now on to the Reception pics!
There has been a lot of talk about money and opulent wedding related spending on the bee today — Mrs. Caterpillar’s “The Weight of the World” post and Miss Jasmine’s “Opulent Wedding Spending” post.
Truth be told, I don’t like attention. On the morning of my wedding, I was trying to convince my bridesmaids to link arms with me so that we could walk down the aisle together… and I was dead serious! Why? I am a total and a complete klutz. I mentioned that I tripped and fell on my behind during the wedding rehearsal, right? Well, you can just imagine how terrified I was about my “first dance” with Mr. Eggplant. I had nightmares of wobbling around in four-inch heels, tripping over my dress, and landing flat on my face.
Okay, I’ve managed to harass a few pics from my flower girl’s mum. I’m not really wanting to post the pics of the flowergirl, as she’s four and I don’t want too many images of her on the ’net. Here are a few random shots of the wedding day.
Walking down the aisle (trying not to trip and/or cry)

Since I have no photos to share (yet- anyone who took some feel free to send them my way!!), I thought I’d post a list of the fantastic/crapular things that happened over my wedding/birthday weekend.
Fantastic:
1.) My cousin sent some pictures and a small write up of the celebration to my brother, who was unable to make the trip here from Australia (my sister in law is pregnant, so it’s understandable). He sent the pictures literally during the reception. It was great as it made me feel like my brother was able to participate.
2.) Our florist was able to add some ranunculus to my bouquet in honor of my grandma. They were an orange color and just popped. My bouquet was perfect!
3.) The choir made up of children was probably the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. When the first song began, I couldn’t believe how angelic it sounded. Of course, I began to cry, so Mr. Kiwi had to utter some quotes from “Knocked Up” (fitting? not so much) to make me laugh.
Reader hwong14 commented on my Ceremony Pro Pics Post:
Mrs. Corn, I know you blogged about the wind before… did you guys use a microphone for the ceremony? If not, could the guests still hear? Was it a big deal? Thanks!
My sister is an ordained Presbyterian minister and she conducted our ceremony. She is a consummate professional, so I had no doubts that she would be able to project in any situation. But my friend, Sarah, whom we asked to read at our wedding, is rather soft spoken, so early on in our planning, I contracted with our band to have a sound-guy come early and set up a microphone for our ceremony.
I am glad we made that decision, especially because of the wind. Whereas we originally were just going to use the microphone for the reader, we ended up using the microphone for everything; the string trio and our friend who did our impromptu videography got tapped into the microphone.
The prospect of a post-wedding crash is scary, isn’t it? Planning and preparation for my wedding seemed to occupy all of my free time for the entirety of my 13 month engagement. I didn’t even like weddings before I got engaged, but overnight they became my obsession. I could see that feeling on the horizon, the “What do I do now?” feeling that would ambush me after the honeymoon.
So, stupidly/smartly I signed up to participate in a local art/craft show as a vendor. I do this show every year, but I usually take the preceding six months to make/test prototypes and build up stock. With only six weeks between the end of our honeymoon and the show, I thought I would take a year off. Two days before the wedding I realized how bored I would be and sent off the application on a whim. I found out I was accepted during our honeymoon and upon arrival back to our abode I have been in non-stop production mode. The show is this weekend and I am finally ready to get off of this DIY roller coaster. I am ready for a break.
It’s good to be back home! Unfortunately, we have no photos to share yet (I wonder if people assumed we would be too busy to look at them, so didn’t send any?) but let me talk about the big day for a little bit.
My mother in law’s missing toenail: the night before the wedding, it was about 9pm and I was waiting for Mr. Kiwi to call and tell me he was at the hotel for our scheduled meeting. When my phone rang, I saw it wasn’t him, but it was his sister asking if my mother in law had called me. When I said no, and asked what was up, she told me there was an accident. An accident?!?! Oh my gosh! Well, it turns out the only guest (who we invited because he was an old friend of Mr. Kiwi’s family) who added a guest accidentally kicked MIL in the toe, completely tearing her toenail to the cuticle. It was HANGING from the cuticle. There was a ton of blood and swelling, and she was so upset that she couldn’t fit in her shoes! Of course, not wanting to worry Mr. Kiwi and I, she wanted to keep it a secret. And also, of course, my sister in law had to call to tell me. I think I love my new family!
I’m not ashamed to admit that my husband is much funnier and wittier than me. I really should ask him to apply for a weddingbee blogger position, shouldn’t I?
Well, here are the rest of our teaser wedding pictures through Mr. Eggplant’s eyes (check Apertura’s blog to view the images in full size):
More Wedded Bliss (As Told by Mr. Eggplant)
Many of you may have already checked out the remaining pictures on our photographer’s blog, but I thought I’d finish off the set and let you know what really went on. People rarely hear words from the groom, but that’s usually because we’re still recovering from the honeymoon food comatose and the “Newlywed Nineteen”– the amount of weight you gain immediately after you get married. Word to the future grooms: Make sure you’re in your best shape before the wedding because that’s the thinnest you’ll ever be. And one would think I’d be lighter with all that cash leaving my pocket.

“Pure Joy” or “Team of Endearment”
I like that song with the lyrics that go, “the look of love is in your eyes…” because that’s what this picture reminds me of. The look on Mrs Eggplant’s face is so endearing that I smile every time I look at her. She seems so happy to marry me. Wow, a man can get used to this. One more oldies reference for the road… how great it is to be loved by you.
