Miss Meatball, HollywoodAge and Occupation: 30, Actor/Writer/Office MavenFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Actor/WriterEngagement Date: October 7, 2007Wedding Date: May, 2009Blogging Since: September 16, 2008Venue: Private Garden/The Bungalow ClubAbout Me: I love melty cheese and diet coke almost as much as I love my man. I'm from Chicago, he's from NYC, and we both miss public transit and great pizza. We have an adorable muppet dog called Paco. I'm part hippie with a healthy dash of hip hop superstar, have excessive empathy for animals, and have not one, but two bionic eyes (long story). We're broke and it ain't no joke. It can't stop us from planning the bold and whimsical wedding of our dreams, but we've had to get pretty creative to make it work, yo!
You’ve been asking… I’ve been wishing… we’ve all been waiting… and finally, our first “batch” of Trash the Dress pics were blogged!
I’m really excited that these are the first we’re seeing, because it was with our favorite photographer of the day: the adorably sweet and fun Jordana Taylor Hazel of Hazelnut Photography!
Jordana and her similarly swoonable hubby Chris (aka her bad-ass assistant) found us late in the day, just as the sun was losing its shine. But, Jordana came prepared with some fun flashy toys and fired away! They were up for some really fierce and funky shots, and these are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the great time we all had. I remember lots of giggling, squealing, and bouncing up and down… and that was just Chris and Mr. Meatball.
We were so impressed by spending that hour with Jordana. I highly recommend her to any couple for their big day, a boudoir session, or their own Trash the Dress shoot. She’s funky and spirited, with a great eye and natural talent. I hope to not only work with her again, but to also play with her as friends very soon!
Enough talk - let’s let these babies speak for themselves!

My mom has always been a DIY queen, and I'm just now starting to get into it with a new house and a wedding to plan!
I was completely surprised that our ceremony was exactly one hour long, maybe even a little less, considering all of the Spanish traditions that we included in our ceremony. We were so on top of things time wise, that I waited in the bridal room for almost two hours before I could see Mr. H again!
Here are some highlights of when we finally said our I dos, after 14 months of planning!
Mrs. Cookie, DenverAge and Occupation: 25, Nonprofit Fundraiser/Theatre DesignerFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Financial AnalystEngagement Date: September 2007Wedding Date: September 2008Blogging Since: May 8, 2008Venue: Ten Mile StationAbout Me: With a degree in Theatre I never realized that planning a wedding was a lot like Theatre Management, until I started planning my own. I am a coffee addict, especially Starbucks' Grande Mochas, yummy! I love to cook (especially chocolate chip cookies for my honey), travel to exotic places, and be creative. As a couple, Mr. Cookie and I are extremely practical, down to earth, and children at heart. We live in a cozy abode with our adorable Pomeranian, and love to play board games and watch movies into the evening.
By 7:00 AM, I was wide-awake. To be honest, I barely slept. The adrenaline, anxiety, and sheer joy of the moment hindered me from sleeping. I kept eyeing the alarm clock about every hour thinking, “Is it time to get up?” Since we decided to not see one another before the wedding ceremony, I kissed Mr. Cookie goodnight and spent my last night as a single gal with my MOH in a nearby Residence Inn. I tossed, turned, drifted into a fog, and then I was wide-awake.
Although I didn’t get the perfect night’s sleep, I was a ball of energy and nerves. I tried to eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast, took two bites, and was done. I could barely eat—too nervous. I guess my inner control freak was getting to me. I was so worried that all the DIY goodness that I had slaved over, and that I reluctantly put into the hands of both our parents to set-up, would not make it to Breckenridge intact. As I reach for my cell phone to appease my nerves, my MOH snatched it from my hands and rushed me to the nearest Starbucks. Once that caffeine hit my bloodstream, ironically the pre-wedding jitters subsided. What can I say, I am totally addicted to coffee and I had the best MOH ever!
We took a quick jaunt over to the hair stylist and then were off to Breckenridge.

I love scrapbooking, dancing, doggies, and diet coke. I am all about personalizing everything and hence, I'm a DIY bride who is just loving the entire wedding planning process! Mr. Daffodil and I met in our college fellowship group and were "just friends" for three years before we started dating. We've been together for four years now and can't wait to get married in sunny SoCal, Mr. Daffodil's hometown.
I will never forget the surreal experience of walking down the aisle. In all the blissful blur of the entire wedding day, walking down the aisle is the one moment that remains crystal clear in my mind. Have you guys ever seen the movie, “Big Fish”? I felt as if it were like the last scene in the movie, where the dad is heading toward the lake, his final destination, and along his path he sees the faces of everyone who played a significant role in his life - smiling, loving, egging him on. That’s really what it felt like to me, and I finally understood why that was such a perfect ending to that movie! Read more…

First up were the grandparents, unfortunately, I don’t have any professional pictures of my grandparents. But it’s okay, I have their entrance on video.
Then it was time for Mr. Lovebird’s Mom escorted by Mr. Lovebird’s cousin, Kevin.

Since our engagement, wedding planning has put me on high alert for bargains and I've been pushing my nimble fingers through callous building experiments!
The pro pics have finally arrived and I’m uncertain about where to begin. Guess I’ll start you guys off on a little somethin’ somethin’ while I gather my thoughts!

Early in the wedding planning, we knew that we wanted to take some time in between the ceremony and the reception just for us. I don’t generally like being the center of attention, and it was important for both of us to get a bit of a break and have a little time just for us.
First stop was a tea house on Murray Hill that we would visit when we were just friends.
And some chess—since that was how we initially got together. No, that’s not a beer—I opted for iced tea. Read more…

Mr. H and I opted to see each other before the ceremony. The main reason for this was because our ceremony started so late (6:30 PM), was a full hour-long mass, and we would still be taking some family pics at the altar after the wedding. We wanted to get some good pics with each other and with our bridal party, so meeting before was our best option, and I’m so happy that we chose to do this because it eased a lot of nerves (especially Mr. H’s)!

As the wedding is now just days away, I guess it’s poignant to post some additional bridal portraits of myself. I’ve had the most wonderful year and a half, planning this wedding and learning from all of you out there in blog land. Thank you so much for your compassion and creative energy. I’ll do one or two more posts this week!

We’re finally settled into our New York digs, which means that it is time for the wedding recap to begin again. Who knew working a real job (that involves a lot of travel!) would be so crazy?
We made it to the end of the church, and proceeded to kiss some more.
