Sometimes a week just slips right by, especially when I am trying to get projects out the door. As a follow up to my recent letterpress post, here is the final product! John, the groom, was a friend from college {go PC!}. He and Kelly were both on the sailing team and still love to sail so it was only natural their wedding would be inspired by the sea. They are getting married at the chapel on PC’s campus followed by a reception at the Conanicut Yacht Club.

Weddingbee’s Mr. and Mrs. Kitten were married on Grand Cayman Island on April 4, 2009.
We shot for three days over the event and captured so many great moments. The wedding was held at the Grand Old House on Grand Cayman Island. It had an amazing outdoor deck that ended at the water’s edge. Every day there was a beautiful sunrise and sunset which added to the great island atmosphere.
Mr. and Mrs. Kitten wanted a modern and unique wedding film that had both HD and Super 8mm film. We blended them together during editing to give the film a vintage twist. Here is their highlights film.

About Me: From the moment the engagement ring was slipped onto my finger, I've been in love with all-things-wedding. I still get teary eyed reading proposal stories in magazines and love sneaking a peek at a bride and groom glancing at one another for the first time, as the ceremony is about to begin. With each of my clients, I get to know their personality, family background and hear the story of how they met and fell in love. Each piece becomes another element from which I use to build the overall vision for their wedding day.
As the Creative Director at Inspired Goodness, my job is to create the various details that makes each of our weddings come to life. My work incorporates classic elements; engraving, hand calligraphy and vintage typography. Using a mix of found objects and flea market pieces lends a rich history to my work and challenges me to find creative ways to use mass-produced elements, each with a chic and timeless result.
With every new client, I get to explore avenues I've yet to pass and love knowing that the next adventure is just around the corner!
I have to admit that while this wasn’t an original idea of mine, I loved the idea of adding this simple and personalized embellishment to my wedding shoes. If you’re not able to spend the $75 Stuart Weitzman charges for this same service, you can easily tackle this project yourself. That said, I’ve put together this little step-by-step tutorial to help you recreate this same look.
It’s a fun way to incorporate a little something blue into your ensemble and guests love asking to peek at the bit of bling you have on you. You may have seen this idea before when I decorated shoes for Mrs. Cupcake’s wedding.

Hello! I do say I have been very fortunate to work on some seriously lovely designs as of late. The bride, Heidi, is a wind power analyst {awesome!} and her fiance is a helicopter pilot. They wanted a design evocative of a rustic vineyard in the Blue Ridge Mountains during Autumn. The wedding is taking place outdoors where they would be surrounded by the bright yellows, oranges, and reds of the changing leaves. We decided instead of going for the obvious vineyard theme {grapes} or Autumn colors {yellow, orange, & red}, we would go for rustic florals in a cool, mono-toned palette of deep navy blue. Being eco-friendly was important for the couple so the invitations were Gocco screenprinted on 100% cotton Lettra paper in pearl and the envelopes were 100% recycled brown kraft paper. I love the little floral detail of the return address on the envelope! The RSVPs were a double-sided postcard. The front of the RSVP came out beautifully with the full floral design. I am happy Heidi liked using the little motifs for the meal choices. It adds a bit of whimsy the elegant design.

About Me: The Treasured Petal is a reflection of my love for scrumptious flowers, yummy textures, colors, ribbons, and all the other girly splurges that being a florist allows me to enjoy on a daily basis. Although I don't discriminate when it comes to flowers, my two favorites would have to be cattleya orchids and gloriosa lilies, which I carried in a ginormous bouquet on my wedding day. When I'm not crafting wedding florals and consulting with brides, I am usually at the dog park with my dogs Pesto and Basil, cooking healthy vegan dinners, watching Seinfeld with my husband Joe, at Bible study, or scouring craigslist for antique furniture to fill up my new house. I am also kind of a home-body and really love sipping tea in my pajamas while working my way down my google reader blog list!
I always ask my brides which flowers they love, and which flowers they absolutely don’t love. Roses are almost always mentioned. Most brides see their lovable qualities- their gorgeous spiraled petals, the insane variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, their sturdiness in all kinds of weather, and their relative affordability (I can’t think of a more bang-for-your-buck flower out there.). But there are some brides who consider roses to be a little “same-old”,”traditional”, or “bleh”. Perhaps they just want to explore the hundreds of other more unique flower possibilities before they settle on the old stand-by. I totally get it.
These are the roses that excite me every time I pick them up from the mart. These are the varieties that have reignited my love for roses and have converted my most anti-rose brides into rose lovers.
