Mrs. Snow Pea, New YorkAge and Occupation: 26, Architectural Engineer and studentFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Web DesignerEngagement Date: July 4, 2005Wedding Date: August 18, 2007About Me: I am a DIY gal. From cooking, home improvements to wedding. Mr. Snow Pea and I met in college, and since then we've been like peas and carrots! Love cooking, traveling, and fishing.
Destination weddings are so much fun and more affordable than you might think. Our best friend (and groomsman) was married last year on Holbox Island, Mexico and we all had a blast! The benefit of this kind of wedding was that we were all able to spend a few days together in a wonderful setting just spending time with one another. Weddings are normally so quick and over that you barely get to talk to the bride and groom.
We couldn’t have been happier when we heard the news that our best friend from college was getting married. He, Mr. Snow Pea and I were all in the same Engineering Calculus class. We called him “the old guy” because he was “much” older than us. We were 18 and he was 24. He’s such a wonderful friend. Now they poke fun at me because I am the “old” girl in class who’s getting married.

The featured wedding was inspired by Christina Aguilera’s real life wedding. Editor-in-chief of the Knot Carley Roney dressed the bride herself! Check out some of these gorgeous shots!

Recently, a high school acquaintance of mine got married. She and her husband are both in the military, stationed in Korea. They saved up a little bit of money and sent it home to her “adopted mom,” who pulled together this beautiful wedding. Then the couple flew home, had the wedding, and went back to Korea.
I wasn’t at the wedding, but here are a few photos I procured:

While in the midst of my wedding planning, I got to reminiscing about my cousin Khonnie’s wedding. She got married a few years ago in Palm Beach, FL and my entire family flew in. I had a blast! It’s always such a warm feeling when your whole family gets together. Here are some pictures:

Our friends Tracy and Will got married in 2005 at The Seamen’s Church by the South Street Seaport in Manhattan. It was a small wedding - I think it was definitely under 100 people. Afterwards we went upstairs to have hors’douvres and cocktails. The room was beautifully decorated with pink and fushia colored paper lanterns and cherry blossoms. Then we all got in our cars and drove to East Manor Buffet for the reception where 500 people were invited and let me tell you, the Chinese know how to partay! I mean they REALLY know how to partay.

Mr. Lime and I have spent our adult lives growing up together, and we're very excited to finally be getting married!
My dear college friend got married a couple of weekends ago in Hollywood, baby. Overall, it was very fun because the bride and groom looked so happy and glow-y. Catching up with a few tables-full of old friends was fun, too.
Here’s some eye candy, mostly blurry, taken mostly by yours truly [I'm infamous for the blurry pics]. All ceremony pictures were taken by Mr. Lime as I was standing out in the tiny, freezing cold foyer greeting guests and numbering valuable little envelopes ;).
Warm, tasteful holiday decor inside the church. The candlelight, although mostly faux, imbued the space with such warmth.

This past weekend, I was a guest at the wedding of a lovely couple - I thought I’d share a few pictures, since we all like seeing anything wedding related. She was the ultimate DIY bride - she did the flowers, decorations, setup, basically EVERYTHING - which made things a bit hectic the day of the wedding, but it all worked out.
Traditional Vietnamese Ceremony in the morning
The photographer thought it would be interesting to tell everyone to “kiss the camera” - personally, I think we all look like he said “make a fish face!” hahaha

This weekend I attended my good friend Emily’s banquet reception in East Manor. First, I’d like to point out that Emily & Mike have already been married for 6 months. Earlier this year, they had a destination wedding in St. Thomas with very close friends and family. With such a beautiful backdrop, and their love of the islands, I expected nothing less.
