Mrs. Lovebird, New York/Cancun
Age and Occupation: 25, Attorney
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Medical Student
Engagement Date: September 22, 2006
Wedding Date: July, 2008
Venue: Dreams Cancun Resort & Spa
About Me: Born and raised New Yorker planning a destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico and a traditional Chinese banquet in New York City. Got proposed to in Cancun, so it’s only fitting we are going back to get married. I love trivia, board games, bargain shopping, asian dramas and eating yummy food!
I have two adorable little boys I need to dress for the wedding. Mr. Lovebird wants to dress them like this…

Scary thing is, I don’t think he’s kidding. He got so excited when I googled “ring bearer” and jokingly told him the idea when the search turned up info on The Lord of the Rings. I have to admit, we did search for some hobbit toddler costumes online, but I’m hoping it’ll be a last resort.

About Me: Likes: blogging, wikis, semi-colons, cuddling, fragrant flowers, syntax, and spooning. Dislikes: typos, dangling modifiers, flypaper, citronella candles, and run-ons. If I had my druthers, I'd exchange simple vows in a candlelit library. But I lost my druthers long ago...anyone seen them?
I’m so excited! Sarah from Bice Designs just messaged me to say that Chaucer’s “power tie” ring bearer collar is finished!
Here’s what I sent her about a week ago:

About Me: Our original idea of running off to get married quickly turned into an event with 100+ guests once other people got involved and I, too, got swept away in the lovely madness that is wedding planning. Mr. Petunia and I are obsessed with all things World of Warcraft, Monopoly, and Nintendo, so we’re planning on including some fun “game-y” details into our wedding.
This post is dedicated to Weddingbee reader beanchar, my sweet bean, who one fateful Bee TV broadcast night found me the hat of my dreams.
You see, I wanted a certain Mr. Monopoly vibe at the wedding. Someone even threw out the idea of a cane too, but even I knew to draw the line. But I was set on a top hat. Now groom Petunia was a no-go, but the 8 year old just couldn’t say no. And that’s how we ended up with a top hat-stylin’ ringbearer, here walking down the aisle with his arch-nemesis looking on (that would be the six year old in the light pink dress):

Venue: Church w/ floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Valley; Westin in downtown LA
About Me: I moved around a lot growing up, but consider myself a Southerner at heart. I love scrapbooking, dancing, doggies, and diet coke. I am all about personalizing everything and hence, I'm a DIY bride who is just loving the entire wedding planning process! Mr. Daffodil and I met in our college fellowship group and were "just friends" for three years before we started dating. We've been together for four years now and can't wait to get married in sunny SoCal, Mr. Daffodil's hometown.
Mr. D and I had the pleasure this past weekend of taking a trip back to where we first met…our college town in North Carolina! It was a fun-filled weekend of reuniting with friends and family, reminiscing on good memories, and reliving some great times! While we were there, we spent some quality time with our college pastor and his wife, to catch up as well as to discuss the ceremony (our college pastor will be officiating the wedding). We also had a chance to hang out with some VIPs of our wedding…their triplets, who will be our flower girls and ringbearer!
Hive, I present to you the cutest kids in the whole world! Here they are trying on their adorable outfits (which their mom got at a great deal, btw!). Come now, are they not the most BEAUTIFUL kids in the world?
Our handsome little guy…

About Me: 1950's housewife sent to the future, reborn as crafting-obsessed, jill of all trades. I enjoy decorating, writing, baking sweet things, singing show tunes/dancing in public, wearing pearls, and knitting sweaters for my furbaby, Harvey, to chew upon. I heart pink, and believe that sparkles are the new black.

Wow, six months. That means:
A) I survived the endless (and often pointless) researching of months fourteen through seven
B) People will stop saying “oh, October, that’s so far away, have you done any planning yet?”- I never know how to respond to that - “um, yes, I am completely consumed with planning…?” - and will now switch to “oh, October, that’s so soon, …have you done any planning yet?”

About Me: It’s hard to believe that by the time Mr. Sundae and I get married we will have been together for almost ten years. When we first met in college we split dollar pitchers and now we share the mortgage payments. Despite our love for the city we are looking forward to tying the knot in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
I am not sure it’s possible for me to be more pleased with myself. I successfully made our ring bearer pillow! I was searching for damask fabric for someone else when I came across this on ebay:

Wedding Date: August 18, 2007
Blogging Since: June 26, 2007
Venue: The Wellington House in Fayetteville, NY
About Me: Mr. Radish and I are both from upstate New York, so we are planning a wedding in Syracuse from about 700 miles away. When I’m not obsessing about our wedding I play the cello in my band (which Mr. Radish is in too), read as much as I can, sleep even more, travel whenever possible, and try to find time to have fun with my friends. I’m also working on finishing up my journalism degree with a concentration in environmental reporting and I’m the VP of my campus Amnesty International chapter… so I’m a pretty busy bee.
I’m going to interrupt my post-wedding posts for a moment and flashback to some pre-wedding stuff that I got too busy to blog about at the time… like my ring pillow.
I was very indecisive about getting a ring pillow. I couldn’t seem to find one anywhere that I liked. I thought about getting some fabric and making one myself but that plan never came to fruition. Then I found myself two days before the wedding with no ring pillow. At that point, I couldn’t order anything in time and there was nothing good at the store, so it was going to have to be DIY.
Earlier in my planning I had come accross these gorgeous ring “pillows” on the knot and fell in love with the idea of something like this. Of course, I didn’t have the time to make anything quite as good as these, but they were my inspiration.

About Me: I am a displaced Southern belle trying to orchestrate our big day with my sweetie while living in a land far far away. When not planning for our classic Southern celebration, I love to read, travel, explore my artistic side, and bake brownies for Mr. Donut, who happens to love eating them. It works out well.
Mr. Donut and I are having 4 little ones take an active part in our ceremony. Hopefully anyway - you never can tell with little kids. Between us, we have 3 nephews who we adore. The oldest, my nephew and godson, will be our ring bearer. The other two will be honorary ushers. One will escort my grandmother down the aisle to her seat. The other, who is Mr. Donut’s nephew, will usher his grandma. They will all be wearing this flax linen short and vest set from Luli/Frankie Boys…

About Me: I'm a silly mess of a girl who, above all else in this world, LOVES the Spice Girls. I eat sushi at least 3 times a week, and feel guilty about how much it costs the other 4 days a week. I love designer jeans and cheap accessories. I don't like sweets, but I love the UCLA Bruins!
I’ve been wondering what to give to the “little ones” at our wedding to keep them busy and happy.
For the past six years or so, I’ve been exclusively purchasing all my baby gifts at The Elegant Child.

Its a posh baby gift site frequented by many Hollywood types, and the owner, Teri Weiss, runs her shop out of her home. I’ve visited many times when I lived in L.A. and everything she has is capital “F” Fabulous. She treats all her customers like they’re the most important people in the world, and her unique gifts never cease to amaze me.
