About Me: I am a west coast lady who loves the San Francisco Bay Area. I love living with Mr. Peep and our animals: Huck the Dog and Ferris the Cat. I work to save the environment in San Francisco, while Mr. Peep makes ridiculously delicious Olive Oil. On any day you can find me reading the latest book I have gotten my hands on, eating Swedish Fish, and perusing wedding blogs! We are both champagne drinking foodies on a Bud Light budget. We are planning an eco-chic, intimate, and interfaith San Francisco City wedding.
Four and a half years ago, I was so excited to become an Aunt, and have loved it every day since.
Yet, I realized right before my niece was born that as a single grad student, my brother and I lived in different worlds. And at the time my sister first found out she was pregnant, I was on date number 3 with Mr. Peep. After that, I felt even more out of the loop. They both had houses and families, and I was single and giddy over the new guy I was dating. Having little rascals in the family totally changes the family dynamics- it changes a long dinner out with your family to a quick dinner, a bath, and building blocks. Yet now, I wonder how my family was every complete without them?
To this day, I am still not at the same point in life as either my brother or sister, but I am more than ok with that. I love that I get to have little ones in my life- even though Mr. Peep and I are nowhere near that step. And I love even more that I get to have them in our wedding. Our bridal party couldn’t be complete without all four of them.

About Me: I’m a notorious people-watcher who loves all things paper, food, traveling, grubbin’ on food, gossip magazines, food, sock monkeys…did I mention food?! Mr. Sushi and I are both haolepinos (half Filipino, half Caucasian) and hope to be able to somehow incorporate our cultures at our destination wedding in Hawaii. All while planning from the sweetest place in earth, Hershey!
Ring orbs are a great alternative to the traditional ring pillow! Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks so; Mrs. Bell Pepper and Mrs. Kiwi both loved this idea too.
For those who liked this idea but are having problems finding such a thing, look no further! Here’s a lil’ twist on the idea…

About Me: I’m your average computer geek marrying a gaming geek and trying to find a good balance of elegance and geek chic in our wedding. I adore The Sims, Nintendo, cosplay, (good) music, TiVo, theme parks, and our two crazy felines.
Like the flower girl basket, the ring bearer pillow started off plain.
I bought white satin fabric and conjured up a small pillow using some fiberfill I had laying around. I then tied a ribbon around it and added some keychains. Keychains, you ask? I didn’t want the boys carrying the real rings, just in case there was a mutiny and all of them refused to walk. The craft store had some fake rings in the wedding section, but keychains were a bit bigger (so you can see them easier) and a lot cheaper (a bag for 99 cents vs. $3.99 for the fake wedding rings).

About Me: I'm the stereotypical girl who enjoys sewing, baking, and decorating. I am blessed to share my life with Mr. Spring Roll and our two shih tzu's, Isabella and Gabriella. Hello Kitty, musicals, Target, and Chick-fil-a are a few of my favorite things. I have a fear of fish and Freddy Krueger. Planning our wedding has become a huge part of my life, and I love every minute of it!
Mr. Spring Roll and I felt like it wouldn’t be “our wedding” without our Shih Tzu, Isabella, present. Therefore, we decided that instead of a pillow, our ring bearer Gavin would hold Isabella’s leash down the aisle. Our plan was perfect, until we were blessed with little Gabriella last month.

We knew there was no way that tiny Gavin could control two dogs down the aisle. I asked FMIL Spring Roll if she would feel comfortable walking behind Gavin with the two dogs, and she happily agreed. With FMIL walking the two girls, we decided that Gavin should indeed have a pillow. I browsed several pillows online and was unhappy with what I found. So, I decided to make my own:

About Me: I am a Minnesota raised, NYC transplant planning a destination wedding in Napa. I'm balancing my love for the environment and my hubby-to-be's love for tradition to create our "green wedding in disguise." Our wedding will include local food and wine, antique touches and lots of love and laughter. When wedding planning isn't taking up my free time (and money) I love to read, cook, workout, watch baseball and travel! Follow along in my adventure as I attempt to plan an eco-friendly and socially responsible wedding (with eco-oblivious Mr. Pinot Noir).
When Mr. Pinot Noir and I went to the Fairfield County Irish Festival to find his wedding ring, we also bought our ring “box” from Celtic Revival. Instead of a pillow, our ringbearer will carry this beautiful hand-carved wood box. This way we can keep the box after the wedding as a special and useful memento, which makes it an ecofriendly choice too!The square box is 3.5″ x 3.5″ x 2″.

About Me: I think of life as a journey and I love the places it's taking me! I went to school to study Magazine Journalism, ended up with a second major in Japanese language, and now work at a company that makes software for libraries. I love writing, computers, photography, and the great outdoors. I spend most of my time playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band or geeking out online with Mr. Cherry Pie. I'm happiest when I'm on the road, especially traveling abroad, or just nesting quietly at home with my sweetie, who is a fabulous cook and bakes a delicious rendition of a certain cherry-filled dessert!
For our wedding, I’ve decided I wanted something… firmer… than the average ring pillow. In fact, I want to forgo fabric and plush entirely for a more “natural” look. And while I think the ever-popular Paloma’s Nest Ring Bowls are beautiful, they just aren’t quite what I’m looking for.
I want something that evokes a natural, rustic, ambiance without being puffy or floofy. I’m quite taken with these moss and twig “nests”…
1. Very pretty, but a bit too “puffy.”

About Me: I am a grad student with a secret obsession for all things wedding related. I also love to read, travel, drink champagne and go for walks with our dog, Maisy, and Mr. Peacock. We are planning our very vintage wedding in the greatest city in the world, our hometown of Chicago. I am so proud to be a Bee!
After we had the big boys’ outfits squared away, it was time to move on to the little guys. Mr. Peacock is the lucky uncle to three adorable nephews and we didn’t think twice before asking them to serve as our ring bearers.
I don’t think there is anything cuter than a little guy in a tuxedo. It totally kills me. When we called around for rental prices on those sweet little suits, we learned that the price wasn’t so cute. I think that renting a five year old’s tuxedo for the same price as an adult’s is crazy business. I had to do better. I did a little digging online and found a few sources where I could purchase a boy’s tux for under $75. Although they may not have another black tie event to attend any time soon, they could all go as James Bond for Halloween. Or a waiter at a fancy restaurant. Or a penguin.

About Me: I'm just your average obsessive compulsive, arts & crafts loving, funky-on-the-inside/boring-on-the-outside girl, who dares to say 'Hey! I can make that!' Nerdy professional by day, goofy won-ton by night. The won-ton sometimes comes out during the day when I'm fed the dollar breakfast at Ikea. Since our engagement, wedding planning has put me on high alert for bargains and I've been pushing my nimble fingers through callous building experiments!
I love weddings with unusual elements that show off the couple’s personalities and interests. They often bring in the fun and the funky that make a wedding feel personal and true. After all, the people coming to your wedding should (at least mostly) be people who enjoy and appreciate the real you, right?
I suppose there are times and places where a level of formality is necessary or expected, and to many people, a wedding is one of those times. For that reason, we didn’t get a lot of buy-ins for our over abundant, non-standard-issue ideas at the beginning stages of wedding planning. I learned though, that those who love you, stick around for your crazy @$$ regardless of how ridiculous they sometimes think you are.
Case in point - despite having known my unconventional ways for 17 years, my MOH shook her head with disapproval when I told her about the ring pillow alternative I wanted:

I have two adorable little boys I need to dress for the wedding. Mr. Lovebird wants to dress them like this…

Scary thing is, I don’t think he’s kidding. He got so excited when I googled “ring bearer” and jokingly told him the idea when the search turned up info on The Lord of the Rings. I have to admit, we did search for some hobbit toddler costumes online, but I’m hoping it’ll be a last resort.
