I have been obsessed with the stacked ring look for a while now and I decided to try it out for myself.

This is the first combination I tried. I can’t help but think I’m doing something wrong because it kinda looks like my finger is suffocating…

Let Them Eat Cake?

November 29th, 2011 @ 1:50 pm by Miss Petit Four

As I told y’all before, Mr. PF has celiac disease, so that means no cake.

Let Them Eat Cake? : wedding cake riverside Gluten 01 Picture via Gluten-Free Foodie

I thought about buying gluten-free cake mix and taking it with us to Mexico and then just making a small cake for us to cut and eat. I feel like that might be more trouble than it’s worth, and honestly, I haven’t tried any G-free cakes I actually liked.

After thinking about it for some time, I started to think that maybe I was being selfish not having a wedding cake just because Mr. PF can’t eat it.

Case of the Ex.

November 21st, 2011 @ 1:45 pm by Miss Petit Four

Ah, Facebook. We have a love/hate relationship.

I’m sure most of us have gone through some sort of Facebook drama, but what happens when your ex finds out you’re engaged? Well, if you have a crazy, stalker ex, he tries to contact you and win you back. This happened to me recently and it has all been so strange.

Let me start by saying I am not friends with my ex on Facebook—it’s just not something I want to do. He actually messaged me through a mutual friend of ours and wanted to talk to me. Our relationship ended badly, and there’s no way I would ever even consider going back to him. It’s funny, though, how it can stir up emotions inside you.

MRS. Ticket Reporting for Duty

November 14th, 2011 @ 12:54 pm by Mrs. Ticket

The name’s Ticket. MRS. Ticket.

I’m back!!! The wedding was amazing and wonderful, and I would be lying if I said it was perfect, because nothing in life is ever completely perfect. But it was certainly one of the best days of my life (the day Mr. Ticket proposed is still high on my list, as is just about every day of our honeymoon). Luckily I was pretty much the only one to notice the hiccups we did encounter and for the most part I managed to just go with the flow and let everything roll off my back.

The family drama llama managed to keep its cool (hallelujah!) and everything turned out even better than I had imagined. After dreaming everything up in my head for so long, I started to freak out the week before the wedding as to how it would all actually pan out. Well, there was no need for worry, between the team of expert vendors, AMAZING family members, and a truly spectacular bee (looking at you Mrs. Parasol), the wedding went off without a hitch and looked incredible.

A Touch of Geek Goes a Long Way

October 24th, 2011 @ 8:34 am by Mrs. Ticket

In one of my early posts I mentioned that Mr. Ticket and I met playing World of Warcraft. For those of you that need a refresher… I alluded to the fact that there would be at least one treasure commemorating this little detail of how our love story began and it’s finally here! Seriously, I’m just beyond stoked. I’m sure that this will seem cheesy to some of you; heck, Mr. Ticket kind of laughed at me a little when I showed it to him, but I love it!

I showed you a while back that our kids’ buckets will include VIP tags with a semi-Disneyfied drawing of Mr. Ticket and me. In keeping with the theme of drawn Tickets I sought out the assistance of friends. Well… brother-in-law of a friend… whatever…he’s awesome. So without further ado…

Procrastination Lesson Learned

October 21st, 2011 @ 10:24 am by Mrs. Ticket

I would like to give a fair warning out to brides nearing their wedding day. It’s easy to put things off and plan to do them later. I think some of us assume that if it comes down to it and we run out of time, we can always throw money at the problem and let someone else do things for us.

I am here to tell you that I recently learned a difficult lesson…

Attempting to throw money at a problem does not always work!

I had originally planned to design guest book pages myself, then print them out and leave them on a table with place cards for people to fill out. However, I have been unable to replicate the awesomeness that others have created. After enough failed attempts, I started avoiding guest books in general.

Family Drama Llama

October 21st, 2011 @ 8:08 am by Mrs. Ticket

Let’s be real for a moment here. Family drama exists, and more often than not it rears its ugly head around family functions…like a wedding. A wedding you may just have happened to spend the last 11+ months planning. A wedding you may or may not have just spent thousands of dollars on. A wedding you possibly want to be one of the happiest days of your life and the last thing on EARTH you want to deal with is FAMILY DRAMA!

My own personal little ball of family drama decided to drop yesterday afternoon. A certain someone was recently…indisposed, but found themselves released from prior constraints yesterday and has announced they will be attending our wedding…yay? Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I did in fact send this person an invitation (ONLY at the vehement request of my dearly beloved aunt). However, when I sent this invitation there was NO question in my mind as to this person actually attending. As far as I was concerned, unicorns would be making a flight to Pluto, the once epic planet, and CNN would be airing the live coverage prior to this person actually coming to the wedding.

Well Unicorns… your big day is here!

I would like to take a moment to share the awesomeness that was a productive Tuesday with you all. Lately with a still overflowing to do list, it isn’t often I feel very accomplished. But yesterday gave me a little glimmer of hope.

Mr. Ticket and I finished our final pre-marriage counseling session (the week before our wedding; talk about cutting it close!) and with our marriage license in hand we are so ready for next week! Mr. Ticket tried on his suit and officially learned how to tie a tie (side note: my man looks GOOD in a suit).

Then a few little last minute projects…

Programs

I’ve known for a while that I wanted to have programs, but I just kept putting it off because I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to put in them. With the wedding next week and no one else offering to design the darn things for me, I sat my butt down and started/finished them.

I was inspired by the fan concept. Our wedding day is looking to be in the low to mid 80s (fingers crossed) which is suitable weather in the shade, but a fan and a water bottle would certainly improve things for our guests.

Spun With Love - Our First Look

October 19th, 2011 @ 2:15 pm by Mrs. Cotton Candy

We knew early on in our wedding planning that we wanted to have a first look. Not only did our first look give us tons of time to take pics with our family, wedding party, and each other, but it was also a wonderful moment for the two of us to share.

Before our first look I was so giddy and excited to finally see Mr. CC—to hug him and share the moments leading up to our wedding ceremony together. When I saw him on the lawn of the city library, all I wanted to do was bum rush him and wrap him up in a big bear hug! Thankfully I listened to our photog Heidi and took it slow as a means to give her enough time to capture some of my favorite moments of our whole wedding day.

Anniversary Box

October 13th, 2011 @ 5:17 am by Mrs. Ticket

The instant I saw this on wedding blogs I fell in love with it. As I believe I may have mentioned before, my favorite parts of wedding planning are the things you get to keep after the wedding. So the concept of having all your nearest and dearest write notes for you to open on each anniversary is FANTASTIC in my book. While I find the pre-made boxes from Happily Ever AfterWords to be quite lovely, I didn’t particularly want to spend $50 on this little project. So I set to work on how to do it for less. I scoured Etsy for cute little boxes, but found it would cost me just as much if not more to go that route. So I asked Mr. Ticket if he would mind making our box out of scrap wood from work, and he said sure. Score!

Next up was the note cards. This was the fun part. There were SO many amazing options.

Mason Jar Pretties!

October 11th, 2011 @ 2:38 pm by Mrs. Ticket

Sorry for the light posting as of late. While I still haven’t managed to track down my half-way decent camera I figured a few cell phone pictures were better than nothing for a couple of posts, so here goes nothing.

Mr. Ticket asked for very few things throughout this wedding process. He doesn’t tend to get overly-excited about the details. He did like the food/cake tastings and I know he’s pretty stoked about the cookie table. Then, every once in a while, he throws me a curve ball…

We will be stocking our own wedding bar and hiring a bartender to save some $$$. First we asked our caterer what it would cost to rent glasses from them (our catering contract includes all dishes/server ware rentals) and when he informed us it would cost upwards of $0.75 per glass for rentals we decided to just pick up a few packs of plastic cups from Sam’s Club. Then one day I stumbled upon…
