My love for crafting and creating is quite apparent and I've been referred to as a Wonder Woman/Martha Stewart/Stepford Wife hybrid (yup, I'll take that as a compliment). I adore sewing, photography, sculpture, good eats (mmm tapas), baking, snugging and oh, pretty much everything in between (there's not much I dislike). I am super excited to be planning our vineyard wedding and couldn't be happier to be marrying Mr. Locket. We are a quirky, fun-loving couple residing in our college town with our two pups Maple and Molly. We love to go on hikes, visit our local dog park and to bask in the beauty of many of the local falls and gorges. We are an indecisive pair, but together we somehow manage to make up our minds (it's the easy stuff that's tricky).

Ceremonial Soundtrack

Like many brides these days, I have come to realize that we do not need to use the traditional ceremonial tunes that we have all become accustomed to. Yes, Canon in D is quite lovely, and the Wedding March is a great prelude to the bride walking down the aisle, but in my opinion it has been overdone and quite frankly I am over it.

After a few discussions with Mr. Locket, we have decided to kick tradition to the curb and join the masses of new; we plan to change things up with songs we like and songs that will hold a special meaning to us and our wedding. First up, we thought of the guys and gals.

I really loved the idea of doing something fun and upbeat for our wedding party and thought that this version of the Beatles’ “Come Together” would be perfect.

Now maybe we’ve inflated the importance of the song in our minds, but we can’t help but feel that the song we choose sets the tone for the evening and gets everyone in a spirited mood. At last, my dad and I have decided on two songs for the father/daughter dance. We’re not sure which one to choose, as both are beautiful classics.

I love my dad very much, and have always been his special girl. We hang out on the weekends and see each other a few times a week. I think that’s why I have such a hard time choosing a song. The good things about these songs are the length. Not too long at all!
