A couple of days ago, Bridesmaid AC was skimming through etsy.com while at work when she came across something she thought I might like. Boy, was she right! I clicked on the link she sent over and, bingo, there were our escort cards.
I’d gone back and forth between doing horse breeds as our table names versus the traditional number scheme. I even dreamt of Mr. CB slaving away at drawings of each breed similar to the horse he drew for our save-the-date. Unfortunately, Mr. CB didn’t feel the same way and off I went, in search of something to suffice.
It was all because of Weddingbee that I caught the DIY bug. I must give it up to my fellow bees as they have countlessly inspired and motivated me to add a personal touch to as many wedding projects as time and my abilities allowed.
After seeing so many amazing photo table numbers on Weddingbee, such as those of Mrs. Emerald, Mrs. Lovebug, and Mrs. Tiramisu to name a few, and since I had so many amazing pictures from Scott Robert’s workshop, I tried my hand at making my own table numbers.
Don’t you love how DIY projects evolve as you do them? I actually ended up not using the ribbon and paper flowers because I thought it distracted from the images.

Our table naming scheme is both the origin and the almost-terminator of our theme. I wanted to name the tables after Chinese teas because there are so many unique names (Iron Goddess, Monkey King, Jade Dew, Red Robe, Dragon Well, Buddah’s Hand… neat-o, right?), but the mister was insistent on doing something that relates to us like names of places we’ve traveled, as he has seen at other weddings. While I love that he cares for the personal touch, I really wanted something we could build a theme upon. After much hair pulling, I finally came up with a compromise that makes us both happy. Here are our table name cards:

Each insert include 2 fun facts about the wedding, which satisfies the ‘more personal’ requirement, and hopefully also serve as ice breakers for guests. The table name cards will sit next to the centerpieces like this:
