Sometimes wedding inspiration comes from unexpected places. Today I stumbled upon the blog: Wear Palettes. The blogger, a Swiss graphic design student Daniel, takes color palettes from The Sartorialist clothing. This blog is a great place to find unexpected color combos. The best part? The attire selection for your wedding is already halfway completed for you. Read more…

Now, I can't stop thinking about them! Planning the wedding has really opened the floodgates to my DIY side. If there's anything I can do to avoid hiring someone else, I will do it! Mr. Coconut is my financial advisor, he tries to keep me budget-conscious! We've tried to make wedding planning a team effort!
Mr. Coconut and I have been engaged since March of 2007. Initially I thought to myself, wow we’ve got a ton of time to plan our wedding, this is awesome. Little did I know what a long engagement really meant: loss of social life, increasing stress, and LOTS of time to change yo damn mind. Oh yeah. No one told me how many times I, “Miss Decision Maker” would question and 50-guess my decisions!
The hardest part without a doubt was choosing our color scheme. I’ve been asked a ton of times, “What are your colors?” My reply, “ummm, I don’t have three colors, I have like 7.” Yes, I got strange looks. Eventually though (like this week), I’ve finally come up with some solid elements of our wedding.
This is the first element I KNEW had to be at our wedding. Lots of branches and romantic lighting from the ultra-fab knottiemrs.anayisnin (photo by Laura Novak):

Mr. Pineapple will be starting a new job next week and decided to have his prescription updated and worn glasses replaced before switching insurance companies. He took me along to help pick out his new frames. (I guess I will be looking at them more than even he will be.) Here is the pair we chose:
What does this have to do with wedding planning? They are copper, one of our wedding colors! Mr. Pineapple will be so coordinated, without even trying. They will even match his rose gold wedding band after the big day. We picked them out, because we both loved them , not because it was one of our wedding colors. But the fact that we have been buying and creating so many coppery things has defiantly influenced our tastes. We now love all things copper - copper cookware, copper mail boxes, copper paint, copper jewelry, copper planters, and I will certainly miss the penny if the mint stops making them.
Has anyone else become obsessed with their wedding colors outside of wedding planning?
Mrs. Donut, Singapore/Natchez, MSAge and Occupation: 31, Classical SingerFiance's Age and Occupation: 33, AttorneyEngagement Date: January 28, 2007Wedding Date: May, 2008Blogging Since: November 27, 2006Venue: St. Mary Basilica & the historic Eola Hotel, NatchezAbout Me: I am a displaced Southern belle trying to orchestrate our big day with my sweetie while living in a land far far away. When not planning for our classic Southern celebration, I love to read, travel, explore my artistic side, and bake brownies for Mr. Donut, who happens to love eating them. It works out well.
I’ve been having nightmares. They go something like this: Mr. Donut and I are standing blissfully at the altar, smiling and gazing adoringly at each other surrounded by our family and friends who have traveled from far and wide to be with us on our special day. The sun is shining. The wee birdies are singing. It’s perfect…until we reach a moment in the service where I’ve forgotten to choose a reading and/or a person to read said reading. In the dream there is a terrible moment of silence and I turn very red for forgetting a part of the most important part of the day. I’ve had this dream three times. The third time I figured someone was trying to tell me something. So a couple of weeks ago I set to work on our program.
We wanted our ceremony to have a cohesive theme. We chose peace and unity and our search for readings that reflect that began. Once again I went into research mode and Mr. Donut endured weeks of e-mailed suggestions while I endured weeks of waiting for his responses and notes. (For the record, I do not recommend making a long distance move away from your sweetie a mere weeks before your nuptials. It more than kinda sucks.)

I am a coffee addict, especially Starbucks' Grande Mochas, yummy! I love to cook (especially chocolate chip cookies for my honey), travel to exotic places, and be creative. As a couple, Mr. Cookie and I are extremely practical, down to earth, and children at heart. We live in a cozy abode with our adorable Pomeranian, and love to play board games and watch movies into the evening.
I have a list of daily bride blogs that I read every morning, Weddingbee being one of them, for wedding inspiration. Like Ms. Cherry Pie in her post about her inspiration board, I discovered inspiration boards via Snippet and Ink and Style Me Pretty (Abby, the writer of the blog, was kind enough to publish my inspiration board). I am a very visual person, and I think inspiration boards are a great way to communicate your wedding style/dream through images. Also, I have given my inspiration board to many of my vendors, and in the words of my florist, “It really helps bring the feel of the wedding to life.”

I bookmark pages from Esty almost everyday with inspiration and items to add to my wish list. It is also a great place for general inspiration. Here are some of my finds. Some of the items may be sold by now. I know the copper satin is gone, because I am the one who purchased it. (I am on a bit of a jewelry kick at the moment)

We’re planning a very fun multicultural wedding (I'm Jewish and Mr. Cream Puff is Chinese), filled with as many personal details as I can muster.
When people ask me what our color scheme is and I tell them, “lots of colors!” they usually give me the same doubtful look. Sometimes the look is followed by a statement like, “usually we recommend that you stick with one or twomain colors…” I generally shrug and say, “yeah, that’s okay. I’m not doing that.”

Mr. Petunia and I are obsessed with all things World of Warcraft, Monopoly, and Nintendo, so we’re planning on including some fun “game-y” details into our wedding.
I’m not sure we were entirely successful pulling off our Monopoly theme…when I think of the elements now they seem to yes, come together in some way, though perhaps not as boldly as they could have. That is the balance anyone trying to work in a theme struggles with I suppose: making it cohesive while not overpowering. We tried to make the best of it though, and here’s how we made “it” happen. For one, with little houses, dutifully spray painted pink & green, resting atop our escort cards, with calligraphy by the amazing Betsy Dunlap:
