When it came time to organize the “detail” photos from our wedding, I realized that things may be a bit out of order here, so just work with me. Recaps are tough to organize! I shared with you our day-after photos with my talented cousin (and bridesmaid) MB of Design MB Fotografie. She captured some gorgeous shots of my bouquet, so I figured I would continue with some of the ceremony and personal details.
As I mentioned probably a thousand times, I was in love with my bouquet! Read more…

Hi Hive!! Oh how I’ve missed you! We’re back from Mexico and happily married! The adjustment from the snowy mountains of Colorado to the hot beaches in the Riviera Maya was intense, but we’re loving EVERY MINUTE of the married life. We actually decided early on that when we returned from our honeymoon we would take a few days off before going back to work, and I can’t tell you how special these days have been. There’s something about watching movies on the couch in your pajamas with your husband that’s so much better than watching them with your fiance!

Well this is it; today I marry my best friend. I can’t believe we’re here, and I love that we’ve come so far. You are my inspiration and constant rock, and this next chapter in our lives is going to be full of joy, love, and most importantly, commitment. Today when we’re surrounded by loved ones and relatives, know that it’s really just you and me. We’re in this together. You’re my one, and my true love. Can’t wait to be your mrs.
For the last time,
Miss Champagne

You know what I love about Weddingbee? So.much.inspiration. For our ceremony programs, I took some inspiration from (ok, more like completely copied) Mrs. Emerald’s ceremony programs. I just thought they were so unique, and I’ve always loved when pictures are added in programs.
So here’s our version of Mrs. Emerald’s wonderful programs:
As you can tell the ribbon frays a little, so I sent the programs to Vail and when I got here I trimmed each ribbon one last time. I’ve found that the best tool for cutting a clean line on ribbon is the Fiskar’s scissors with Spring Action- Seriously, these are awesome for crafts. Read more…

I know menus aren’t the most exciting aspect of planning a wedding, but we really wanted our guests to see some of the menu items we had chosen because they were sort of themed around our location. So where’s a gal to turn for DIY menus? To my trusty Gocco, of course. Our monogram is literally going to be EVERYWHERE at our ceremony, reception, and even on our OOT bags. Our menu is no exception! I put our menu on Stardream opal text paper and taped it to Stardream Onyx cardstock. We’ll place them inside the napkins on the tables.

Well, maybe not completely packed, but I do have all of my wedding day accessories finalized! The shoes took a while to find, and I searched and searched for earrings and a clutch, but I’m finally ready!
I found a wonderful website called Evening Elegance that has a HUGE selection of evening bags. I was looking for something that didn’t cost a fortune but didn’t look inexpensive. There are a ton of color selections, and my bag arrived just two days after I ordered it. Read more…

Well we’re at that point where we’ve finalized our seating chart, and things are really falling into place! I’ve been a little MIA lately, but have every intention to show you what I’ve been working on. First off, I’ll show you our place cards and table numbers. We fooled around with the idea of using “love” or “I love you” in different languages, and here’s what we got:
And for a little close-up action, here are our choices. We used our engagement photos from Girls With Big Cameras as a background, so be prepared for some lovey dovey crap. I had them printed at a local camera shop and taped two pictures back to back on some leftover antique gold cardstock.

So for those of you who don’t know, Mrs. Tiramisu and I are buds. We were friends during her planning process, and she’s to blame for my Weddingbee addiction. She even attended my bachelorette party which I never blogged about, because, well… I had too much champagne.

While Champ was away at a Super Bowl party, I was doing our programs and… um… wearing my wedding ring.
Champ has been so serious about the wedding rings, he insisted that I not pick them up any sooner than they really needed to be, so they’ve been sitting at the jeweler for a few months. Well the time has come, and I picked them up just in time for a little trial run.
Mine is an eternity band with diamonds similar to the side stones on my engagement ring. His has a little bling too—it’s a platinum band with a “satin finish” (whatever that means) and princess cut diamonds. Champ says it makes him feel like a diva—he pranced around the house saying, “I’m Whitney Houston, bi@%ch.” He’d kill me if he knew I told you that—good thing he doesn’t read Weddingbee.

Sure it’s a little saggy now, the lights are falling off, but it’s still up. I’ve been so busy that taking it down has been on the backburner on my list of to-dos (I think I might secretly like it up, too). This might be a delegation task for Champ this week.
I never thought we would get this busy with wedding stuff!!!
What’s on the end of your to-do list that you keep putting off?!

With our wedding quickly approaching and RSVPs coming back, it’s tough to look at some of the “no” responses. Some of our closest family friends and relatives cannot come, and although I expected it, it’s still tough to swallow.
But there’s one emotion I didn’t expect that came along with the guest list and invitation process that’s taken me completely by surprise. There’s just one invitation I wish I could have sent—an invitation to my birth mother. I’ve known I was adopted for as long as I can remember, and I truthfully LOVE my family. They’ve been so supportive, and I’ve never felt like an outsider. As a matter of fact, my Dad is also adopted, and I think that is a special bond we’ve always had that brought us closer. People will always say, “you and your Dad look so much alike!” We just laugh and agree. I guess I see the resemblance.
I know very little about my birth mother, but I do know she was very, very young and completely committed to my adoption. Read more…

We’ve got this idea, and like most of my ideas, I’ll need the hive’s help to pull it off. Instead of having the traditional table numbers, we’d like to add a bit of romance to the theme. So this is what we’re thinking: Each table will be named after the word “love” in a foreign language.
Here’s the list we’ve got so far:
If you look at this list, you might see a problem. First, most of the traditional romance languages are very similar: “amore“, “amor“, “amour”. So that leaves us only one choice out of those. Secondly, how will guests realize that their table number really means “love” if they can’t pronounce it or decipher the language characters? Read more…

I’m sitting at work and just got this email from Champ:
FYI: It is 9 degrees (feels like -1) in Vail today. Brrrrrrrr!
Oh man. It’s gonna hit me hard in a few weeks! So, considering that over half of our guest list is traveling from out of town, and most will be trekking over 500 miles from where it’s not quite so cold, I figured we would welcome them with a little warm Colorado cheer.
In each bag, we’ll add a bit of warmth with a pair of HotHands hand warmers. We’ve actually arranged a get together with all our guests that will be in town the Thursday before the wedding. After a few apres-ski drinks (mountain slang for happy hour), we’ll take the gondola up the mountain and go tubing! I’m certain these will come in handy!

Clever title, huh? Cut me a little slack—with less than a month until the Champ wedding, I’m a little dry in the creativity department. Less than a month…. eek. Anyhoo..
Ever since I saw a picture of a cake with a monogram on it, I knew I had to somehow incorporate a monogram into our design. I asked around, and it seemed like all of the bakers we had to choose from did their monograms freehand, so I searched for some inspirational photos to show to our baker. Read more…
