While waiting to post my pro pics, I thought I’d share some photos of my hair and makeup application by Sachiko Yanase for my day-after photoshoot with Angelica Glass. I had called Sachiko eons ago to try and book her for the wedding, but it was during the holiday season of last year, our schedules were colliding, and I never got a chance to meet her for a trial. But from all the internet buzz, I knew Sachiko was great and decided to book her for the shoot.I showed Sachiko some photos of my hair and makeup from the wedding. I asked her to emulate a similar down do (since I wanted a more relaxed tone for these photos) and natural makeup that could withstand an outdoor shoot. Here is what she came up with:
Under the garish bathroom light. Though it looks questionable, I am not naked, but wearing my strapless wedding gown!
…a complete list of our vendors, but nothing makes me more nervous than actually writing a review. I have no problem with self-deprecation, but if I have to say anything negative, I get all red and flustered and just run. So I’ll say the good, hint to anything that was… not so good, and hope that since our wedding was so long ago, that all our vendors may have turned into dust and washed away. After the months I’ve been gone, I imagine you all thought I turned into dust… but no, I’m here with my vendor list!
I’m going to sort these in an order that may only make sense to me, so part one: The stuff that was so big, they came into my brain first.

…and a raving vendor review! Some of you may recall the nightmare of a trial I had back in March! Well, I never got to post about the trial I went to after that, but as you can tell, I loved it and chose this artist… or rather, this company! I’ll admit they are not the most affordable (though they are definitely comparable), but I am a very strong believer in “you get what you pay for”… and when it comes to professionalism, style, and quality, they were AWESOME and certainly worth every penny! Which, on a day like my wedding day, was absolutely priceless

I have a major sweet tooth. During dinner, Mr. J will notice me pushing the food around on my plate. It doesn’t take him long to realize I’m saving room for dessert
So naturally, I was very excited about the prospect of a delicious wedding cake. But, I didn’t want to blow the bank on something super ornate and detailed. A pretty, delicious, affordable cake was all I wanted and I’m ecstatic to report that our wedding cake was all that and more.
We ended up going with the first baker we tried, For the Love of Sugar. Sarah Witt operates For the Love of Sugar out of her home and while she mainly concentrates on her delicious cupcakes, she also creates completely lovely wedding cakes as well (Sarah created Mrs. Lime’s cake!). During a visit to LA, Sarah packaged up four cupcakes for Mr. J and I so we could sample cake flavors — they were all so delicious that we battled over every last crumb. In the end, we chose my absolute favorite flavor: red velvet with cream cheese frosting.

I think it’s about time I come out of the woodwork and post some vendor reviews, don’t you think?
Hiring Christine Viola of Exquisite Affairs Productions was one of the best decisions I made. Being such an anally retentive control freak, it usually takes a force of nature for me to trust someone enough to completely hand over the reigns…Christine was that force, and much more.
A month before the wedding, Mr Peony and I met with Christine to go over all the details. She took extensive notes, asked us questions we hadn’t even thought of, and BAM! A few days later, she emailed us the most meticulous and detailed timeline for the big day (not to mention, it was beautiful as well).
“Christine, I thought I was anal! I bow down to your list-making skills!” I emailed back.

As soon as I pulled up to this venue, I knew it was perfect for our wedding. The well-kept grounds, the charming courtyard, the splashes of red, all the bamboo, the Modern architecture, and the expansive outdoor areas met our aesthetic criteria.
I am interrupting the pro photo parade to bring you some info on some of my super fantastic vendors.

Robert was very responsive, professional, and on top of follow-up from our intial contact. He arrived on time, decided to throw in a second shooter for the ceremony close to our wedding date when I sent him our ceremony setup in order to best capture everything, and was everywhere and very unobtrusive at the same time on our wedding day.

I’m absolutely dying to share our professional photos with everyone. Dying. We met with our amazing photographer, Chris Richards, at his (naturally) super cool home a few nights ago. We had some drinks and went through our photos one by one in full-sized, high-definition glory on his flat screen. We picked out some favorites and talked about albums, proofs, prints, etc.
Mr. LB and I always knew we wanted to buy the files of our photos - we want to be able to print any one, in any size, in any style, at any time in our lives. So now we’re just waiting to receive them, at which point the posting blitz shall begin!
In the meantime, though, I want to bust out a quick review of the rest of our vendors for my Tucson homegirlz. ![]()

Our wedding day has come and gone and we have so many people to thank! We were very fortunate to have been surrounded by amazing vendors and resources. One of them being our Day of Wedding Coordinator, Stacey Price from Marry Me Productions.
I already admitted I know nothing about flowers and I threw my hands up when our floral designer asked me what I wanted. I literally had no clue what I wanted her to decorate the flower girl’s wagon or our chuppah with… I just nodded and looked worried. So when we decided to pick a floral designer, we went with someone who really knew what they were talking about and made us feel like we would get exactly what we wanted….. without even knowing what we wanted was called. She really understood that it wasn’t about color or a type of flower, but really about accenting the mood that we wanted to set for our wedding.
Nancy Liu Chin will blow you away when you meet her, she is just such a bubbly, enthusiastic person that you can’t help feel she’s truly excited to be a part of your day! Both Mr. GB and I felt run over with floral excitement as she energetically tossed out ideas and sketches, ooing and aahing over the possibilities in her mind. We felt confident that we had chosen the perfect person to do our flowers. Someone who knew a whole lot more than we did and was confident just going with it because our open mouthed retardation was really of no help to her.
