About Me: I have been dreaming about my wedding forever, and flipping through bridal magazines since high school, so I am in my element! I am calling our theme "Vintage Inspired French/Asian Fusion." Mr. Emerald is very involved in the planning process, but of course he generally defers to me cuz I have a strong opinion of how I want everything to be :-).
Oh, how I miss my wedding! How I wish it wasn’t over and just a beautiful memory in my mind… just kidding, I love being married! But all the same, I miss the whole process, all the minutia, the DIY, the excitement and the anticipation…
But let me recap one of my favorite aspects of our wedding, one which we dedicated a lot of thought, effort…

I know I haven’t really gotten into all the meaty, nitty gritty details of our wedding day yet, but I’m going to jump ahead with a brief overview of our Chinese Banquet the next day.
That Sunday morning, we had brunch at my parents house with most of my extended out-of-town family. It was rushed but fun, and we were still exhilarated (and pooped) from our…

Kristy Cummings Photography–F.
I got married nearly four months ago, and I admittedly haven’t put up many vendor reviews yet.
That’s because all my wedding and vendor-related energy has been dedicated toward a problem of massive proportions: my wedding photographer.
Here’s a super-condensed version of what has transpired:
In August 2006 we hired Kristy Cummings to shoot our wedding. Leading up to the wedding, I had no problems communicating…

Engagement Date: December 31, 2004
Wedding Date: June 29, 2007
Venue: Marie Gabrielle Restaurant and Gardens
About Me: I have been engaged for about two years now - yes, a long engagement, because my fiance and I wanted to wait until I graduated college, which I did this past summer! He proposed after dating just two months - crazy, I know, but 2 years later, here we are, still crazy in love :-). We are having not one, but TWO weddings and TWO receptions in one weekend - American-style and Vietnamese-style - in Dallas, Texas, where I was born and raised!
Part 1
Jewelry
Vendor: Tiffany & Co.
Price: $1550ish for his and $1950ish for hers
Review: Great service and quality as always - nothing but great things to say about them. Engraving was pricey, at $20-40 per hand-engraved letter (has to be by hand if it’s on the inside of the ring apparently). A+

About Me: Here are some things I love?‚? painting, drawing, knitting and all other crafty things (including glueing popsicle sticks together); burritos (must be from Arizona); indie/70s rock; whiskey; dogs (if only my tiny apt could support one!); bad TV; and reading. I'm also crazy indecisive so fingers crossed wedding planning doesn't kill me.
One of you lovely readers asked me for information about my bouquet. Let me begin by saying there is a funny, not-so-funny story about my bouquet.

Dress: David’s Bridal - Oleg Cassini
Grade: A
I can’t complain too much about my dress. I tried it on, got alterations and that was pretty much it. I loved my dress and loved the bustle that David’s provided. Even though I heard horror stories about DB, thankfully I didn’t…

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Playing with the cat and/or Consulting
Engagement Date: December 25, 2005
Wedding Date: June 2007
Venue: Bride's family summer home in the Adirondacks
About Me: Trying to find the perfect balance between family tradition (marrying at the house everyone else in my family gets married at), making our's modern, interesting and different from everyone else in my family's, and incorporating some Chinese tradition for my Chinese fiance. I really have no idea what it's going to end up looking like!
Also, I picked Miss Bluebell for my name because I have blue eyes and I'm a loser like that.
Seeing as Burlington, Vermont was the closest real city to our Adirondack wedding, we tried to find the best cake place there, without looking much of anywhere else. And the consensus from everyone we talked to and everything I saw online was - that was Mirabelle’s! Mirabelle’s is a really great cafe that also offers an extensive wedding cake selection! We wanted a non-fondant and…

We just got our wedding video in the mail today, and it was *amazing*! Our videographer, Heather Attig, captured the entire ceremony, all the ’important bits’ of the reception (toasts, cake cutting, first dance, etc), and interviews with our friends and family. It was a great deal for the price we paid, and we loved that we got to assemble it ’a la carte’–she gave…

Maid of honor and MOB dresses: Fashions at Large, Overland Park, KS (a KC suburb)
I went to Fashions at Large twice in two days. The first time was a culmination of a whole day’s worth of MOH dress searching. In finding her dress, I tried to be *really* easygoing with Katie: I asked that the dress be blue, and probably tea-length. Those were the only requests I had. So Katie, her…

Tuxedo rentals: Sir Knight’s Formalwear, 6065 Ne Antioch Rd, Kansas City, MO 64119 (816) 453-6755
Sir Knight’s provided us with all the guys’ tuxes. We met with them late last summer, and, like most couples’ tux-choosing attempts, this one went quickly and smoothly. We walked in the door and Mr. Blueberry immediately decided on his tux: a slender 4-button one. From there we looked at a couple swatches and decided on two vest/tie…

About: Mrs. Beetle previously wrote our weekly advice column. She got married in October 2006, and is currently guest blogging.
After a pre-wedding photo session (yep, it was way too rushed and we did not have nearly enough time…I haven’t yet talked to any brides who were actually ready on time, so if you are out there, kudos to you…I couldn’t manage it), we went down to the Ladies Locker Room for the Ketubah signing.
