You’ve probably had your fix of winter weddings from me, but I just have a few more to share before I share our own! Time is flying, and the list keeps growing, and my thoughts have turned to the ceremony itself. There are so many details that can be overlooked, and I sort of forgot about flowers for our church. Then I realized that the lights from Christmas will still be lit, and there’s not much you really need to do with a natural snowy backdrop.
Weddings during the holiday season can take advantage of the color, lights and decorations. Here’s how some brides chose to accent the time of year in their weddings:

I love this ring shot on the tree. Reminds me of all the gorgeous reader ring shots we’ve seen here thanks to Anne Ruthmann’s post!
I just wanted to give a congrats to any readers who got engaged this winter—it seems like love is definitely in the air! I got to thinking about our wedding and realized that of course not every bride chooses a winter wedding, but some couples choose winter engagement photos instead! I thought I would share some of my favorite winter shots.

Hi hive. It’s Miss Champagne. Remember me? The holidays have come and gone and a lot has happened! I’ve consumed more champagne and holiday cookies than I would like to admit. Any previously lost pounds have been gained back, Champ finally revealed our honeymoon destination (I whined so much that he told me!), and our invites are in the mail! Following the Christmas rush, I started to reconsider my thoughts about a wedding around the holiday season. I mean, c’mon—turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy—how is a girl to say no?!
My plan was to share our invites with you, but I got a new camera for Christmas and I’m still not quite sure how it all works so in the meantime I’ll share some winter wedding inspiration for you fellow brides who may have forgotten why we picked the food-filled holiday season to tie the knot. Here’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout:
I thought I would share with you some unique ways us “mountain folk” consider transporting guests, family, and the bride and groom to and from the ceremony. Even if you don’t ski, most of us are at least familiar with a typical chairlift. Although Champ and I won’t be venturing on the mountain (too cold in February!) I would LOVE for this to be a part of our wedding day. Who knows- maybe I’ll whip out the wedding dress this summer for a TTD photo on the mountain!

“Make an elegant invitation statement without the fuss. Stylish invitation sets with matching envelopes, reception and response cards included.”
One of the most popular and classic winter wedding themes is the icy blue, white and silver snowflake theme. Although this isn’t the route that we have decided to take, there are so many beautiful touches that can be added to a wedding using this color scheme, from the invitations to the favors. My favorite below are the mittens—adorable!
I’ve always wanted a winter wedding. That is, until I saw a summer wedding in my hometown. Growing up in a small town in the mountains of Colorado, there are limited choices as to where you can tie the knot. Most summer brides opt for an outdoor wedding either on the mountain or somewhere special to the couple within the Vail valley.
So when I say people get married on the mountain, I mean LITERALLY the top of the mountain…
I admit I’ve never seen this:

I’m not sure how flattering ski boots would be with my dress. I think I need a little heel and I’m pretty sure ski boots only come in flats. Would be kinda fun though… hmm.
Instead, the mountain weddings in Colorado are usually more like this:
