it’s been a while, thanks to my amazing partner-in-crime sydney holding down the blog-fort for me (thanks, syd!). i’ve moved around a lot in my life (or as i like to say, i’ve had a lot of adventures)… and that has left me friends in all kinds of places, not just low! today i wanted to share a gorgeous wedding of an old camp friend. allison and i first met in 8th grade at the best summer camp ever and were fast friends – i blame her for a few things… 1. knowing all of the lyrics to “too much booty in the pants” – 2. my 2 years as a hippie – and 3. my love of cancels. more importantly, allison recently married jason at middleton place in south carolina. pull up the website, you’ll get the chills immediately! it warms my heart to share weddings of my nearest and dearest, since we can’t be at all of them. and a huge high five to allison and jason for making their wedding gorgeous and fun – we’re proud to share! p.s. where the heck can i get those amazingly colorful ceremony singers out here in LA…?!?!

we all know that while the grand entrance of the bride and groom is very important, so is the EXIT of the happy couple and the end of the reception! the recent trend these days is that the bride and groom tend to stay until the very end, wanting to soak in every last moment of that fantastic party. however, after scouring the internet and coming up with our own ideas, we have created a list of creative ways (we’re ALL about being unique and creative) to EXIT your wedding reception!
1. sparklers: although a lot of venues do not allow sparklers (fire hazard and what not), if your location DOES allow them, take advantage of the amazing photo opportunity like this couple did:

2. bubbles & bicycles: why choose one when you can have both? instead of getting rice or petals tossed at your head on your big exit, have something more friendly surround your smiles and laughter: bubbles! and combine that with riding on a lovely bicycle with your new husband? can you say precious? i said exactly that when i saw one of my high school friends in the photo below. also, this exit combo allows you to have a fabulous opportunity to change into another cute outfit (do not ride out in your dress = you falling horribly).

3. musical instruments: who says your guests need to be quiet?? give your guests some musical instruments like kazoos, tambourines, or shakers (no talent needed here) and let them have at it when you leave the big party!

4. old car: how could we forget one of the most traditional and classic exit strategies: a motor vehicle. dress yours up or rent an old car just for the heck of it (it is your wedding you know). have someone else untie those cans later.

other interesting options to exit your fabulous reception:
5. choreograph a dance
6. ribbon-dancing ribbons for each guest
7. other modes of transportation: motorcycle? horseback? ostrich/wild animal?
any thing you choose (even if you decide to stay until the end), you are the life of the party and it is your big day – make it special and your own!

today we are celebrating a wedding: hallie’s friend from high school in newtown, connecticut! they were featured on style me pretty for their elopement in florence, italy (jealous!!). the breath-taking scenery, beautiful bouquet she stumbled upon in a nearby flower shop, and the simplicity of their day is just inspiring. the love for one another is truly eminent in their photos and we wish them all the best on their happy marriage! congratulations tiffany and jason! april showers, we LOVE flowers! the most amazing bouquets have been produced this season, and it’s only april! this season’s color seems to be revolving around peaches and corals, that can pair perfectly with almost any color: greys, yellows, and everything in-between! check out the beautiful bouquet that was featured on wedding chicks this week!

are you absolutely in love with this work of art like we are, and want to recreate it yourself? check out this little “recipe” included on the wedding chicks site! we may be trying this out ourselves. now, we may not be the biggest fans of hibiscus flowers in bouquets, but this seems to work out just perfectly. contact your local florist or flower mart and have a field day with friends!
