Jill Person and Lauren Killian are taking the Boston wedding photography market by storm. The two joined forces several years ago to formulate what has become a very successful New England wedding photography business. Their style reflects the combination of photojournalism, artistry and emotion coupled with an innate sense of spontaneity to capture the moment. Person and Killian are wedding photojournalists who specialize in documentary wedding photography and capture the true emotion of every person and event. The Emerald Necklace Conservancy has been involved in sustaining and restoring the beautiful string of parks and waterways of Boston stretching from the Charles River to Dorcester known as the “Emerald Necklace” for over a decade. Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be invited to photograph the event for The Catered Affair, whose owner Holly Safford sits as one of the Chairs for the Party in the Park event. The Catered Affair team has been hard at work under the direction and design of executive chef Shane O’Neill to prepare the menu for this event for over 700 guests.

This year’s luncheon featured remarks from the Chairs, Mayor Menino and Governor Michael Dukakis, as well as a presentation of the Justine Mee Liff Spirit Award to Malcolm Rogers of Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. With great food, great company, and a lot of hard work for a great cause, this luncheon truly was “the Spring event of the year in Boston”!

Spring is (finally) in the air! And what better way for Person + Killian Photography to celebrate than with a fun, colorful, springtime InterContinental Hotel Boston Wedding!

Last weekends wedding was described by the bride and groom as having a “rebirth” theme. Not only does that tie in with the beautiful season and bright flowers of Spring, but it is also symbolic of the couple’s relationship! After being each other’s “first loves”, Stephanie and Richie went several years without seeing each other. They eventually reunited, rekindled their romance, and are now celebrating their love with this beautiful wedding ceremony.

The entire event was held at the InterContinental Hotel, with both the ceremony and reception taking place in the gorgeous Rose Kennedy Ballroom, and a cocktail hour in the foyer outside. The newlyweds were surrounded by brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents and friends as part of their large wedding party, which included adorable nieces and nephews for flower girls and ring bearers!

Every aspect of this wedding was stunning, from the bride in her Pronovias gown, to the colorful InterContinental food and drinks, to the bright flowers and soft sunset lighting. A late-evening Hora and lively music from NYC-based Starlight Orchestra made this reception a non-stop celebration, the perfect way to honor this couple’s fun and spirited relationship. The wedding symbolized everything the newlyweds hoped it would — “growth, family, balance, spirit, and joy”!

Person + Killian Photography does more than just weddings! In fact, we do pre-wedding photo shoots with almost all of our soon-to-be brides and grooms. The pictures are a great way to capture the romantic and fun sides of a couple before the hustle and bustle of a busy wedding day, and they love to share the pictures with friends and family both before and after the event! Today, we were inspired to share one of these adorable photo shoots with you ourselves!

When planning an engagement session with a couple, we often suggest they meet us in our Back Bay studio right on Newbury Street. This area is perfect for a quick walk-around photo shoot, and offers a wide variety of backdrops for fun, beautiful images that really show all Boston has to offer. For engaged couple Bettina and John, this wasn’t a problem at all — they already live in the neighborhood!

After a cold, rainy week and dreary early morning, things weren’t looking good for an outdoor engagement session. All of a sudden the clouds parted, the sun came out, and we were ready to go! Bettina & John were sweet, loving, and above all so cute! They were able to take time out of their busy schedules planning a summer wedding at the Four Seasons Boston (with the help of our friends at SD Events) to join us for this quick shoot, and the pictures speak for themselves. Summer is just around the corner, and for Person + Killian Photography that means its time for gorgeous seaside weddings!

The Crane Estate in Ipswich MA is one of our favorite New England venues for outdoor weddings — with the enormous and historic Great House located on Castle Hill and sweeping half-mile manicured lawns, all just steps away from the ocean, its a perfect summertime venue. A few weeks ago it was the home to a Seaside Wedding Showcase, which Person + Killian Photography was delighted to not only photograph, but be a part of as well.

Future brides, grooms, and guests were invited to visit the Estate, preview the breathtaking ocean views, and meet with dozens of New England wedding professionals to help them envision and plan their upcoming big day. The Crane Estate has also introduced options for eco-conscious weddings, making it easy for environmentally friendly brides and grooms to have a gorgeous “green” wedding!

Person + Killian Photography was thrilled to celebrate yet another gorgeous wedding at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in the heart of downtown Boston this weekend with newlyweds Michelle and Eric.

As soon as the couple saw the Fairmont Copley they knew it would be the perfect venue for their Boston wedding. It was especially important that their friends and family who had traveled from out-of-town be a part of the celebration; there’s no better place to see historic Boston than from the center of Copley Square!

The Grand Ballroom’s detailed and extravagant architecture provided the perfect backdrop for the beautiful floral arrangements by florist William Mizuta, and all of the decor for the evening included touches of Michelle’s favorite color — purple.

Following the beautiful Jewish ceremony on-site at the Fairmont, guests danced the night away with help of the band Night Shift , and indulged their sweet tooth at a custom candy bar. A celebratory Hora and night of dancing made this evening extra special for Michelle, Eric, and all of their loved ones.

Congratulations Michelle and Eric, and thank you for letting us be a part of your beautiful spring wedding in Boston!
