After much discussion, Mr. S and I decided on reBar based on these factors:
- The food is off the chain. During our venue tour, the reBar staff wined and dined us to a full dinner on the house. The pastry chef even came out and gave us a gigantic slice of his newest creation: banana cream pie cheesecake. Drool.
- Fun factor. We want our guests to mingle, dance, drink, and eat whenever they like, and not feel tied to their chairs. The cocktail-style setup that reBar offers lends itself to our type of party.
- The all-inclusive package. For the price of what other venues quoted us just for catering, reBar offered passed appetizers, buffet dinner, premium open bar, five hour DJ, cupcakes, and floral arrangements inclusive of service fees and gratuity. I love to plan, but I’ll take all the help I can get. Plus this smelled like a bargain to me, which brings me to…
- Price—it couldn’t be beat. I had big sticker shock at the other venues we visited once service fees, tax, and gratuity were added to the quoted price. reBar softened that blow. What were the odds that our favorite venue was also the most affordable??
But with all it had going for it, I still had my concerns, mainly regarding the nontraditional flow of the evening and what our guests (especially the older set) would think. Would everyone be expecting their own seat? Would our guests be confused? I called my mom for her advice. She said, “Everyone will love it if you love it. As long as they know what to expect, they’ll be fine.” That coupled with the rave reviews from past reBar brides gave me the confidence I needed. Reception venue—check!
