Does anyone else remember this bizarre Sesame Street sketch?
So, I’ve been a Weddingbee reader for around four years, and dating Mr. Llama for around three and a half…and probably around two years ago, I thought to myself, “If I ever get to blog for Weddingbee, it would be perfect if they had a Llama available…”
What are the freaking chances?? I mean, right??
You see, Mr. Llama and I call each other “LOML” all day long (it’s an abbreviation for Love of My Life…cue the “awwwwww”). We say it the way anyone else would say “babe” or “sweetie” or “honey.” And every once in a while, I’ll sing the “Me and My Llama” song, but with LOML in place of llama.
I really cannot believe that I’m ACTUALLY Miss Llama, after all that!
Mr. Llama and I are just under six months out from our destination wedding at…Disney World! We are self-admitted Disney freaks—in fact, Mr. Llama insists that I appeared uninterested in him UNTIL he mentioned that he came from a “Disney family.” (Not true at all…I actually made quite the effort to specifically go talk to him that fateful night!)
I’ve had so much fun already just blogging for myself, so I can’t IMAGINE how fun it’s going to be to actually have a community of brides to have a dialogue with! And get advice from! I’ve been such a regular reader of Weddingbee over the years that it definitely feels surreal to be on the “other side” of the hive.
And truthfully, I have to thank Mr. Llama—he was the one that encouraged me to start blogging and apply, despite feeling like I would never have enough free time. (Such is the life of a first-year teacher…) In the last few years, I made the transition from actor to teacher, and while I do love teaching, it was Mr. L that saw that I still needed a creative outlet that wasn’t job related. He was so right. I’m so glad he convinced me to go through with it.
I can’t wait to get started. AHHHHH!!!! I’m a BEEEEE!!!!
See ya real soon!
(any Disney-philes who recognize that?)
