We are not going to be able to make preserves for wedding favors (insert sad face here) anymore and we need to come up with an inexpensive plan B, fast! Mr. B’s Nana was supposed to spearhead this project, but unfortunately, she’s decided she’s not up for the job. I totally understand and there’s no hard feelings at all—his Nana has a lot on her plate. But now we have 100+ mason jars and no idea how to fill them! Yikes!
I scoured the Internet for ideas, and apparently you can put just about anything in a mason jar! Food is among the most popular. I saw this tutorial for DIY cookiejar favors that would be really easy and inexpensive:
There is also the option of making mini cookies for the jar!
I have some fabric leftover from our centerpiece frames, which I would LOVE to use for this project!
Color-coordinated with cute labels…this could be a great addition to our decor, no?
If cookies are too generic, try cupcakes in a jar! I found a great tutorial right here!
No doubt the pictures would be cute, too!
Since we already plan to have plenty of cookies and cupcakes on our dessert bar, neither of those things really excited me. One dessert we had not planned on was PIE, which apparently you can also put in a mason jar! Yum!
Everyone loves cookies, cupcakes, and pie, sure, but those sweets don’t fit with our garden theme. I think HONEY, however, is a great option. It comes from the garden, it’s still sweet and delicious, and it would be something our guests would definitely use!
We could also add a cute label like this one..
Maybe an ode to blogging for Weddingbee!
Another idea (although, not mine…ahem…cue Mrs. Stripes) is to use the jars as drinking glasses!
We could put chalkboard stickers on each one and label them for our guests, and they could even take their glass home as a favor.
We know the pictures would be phenomenal!
Which idea do you like? Do you have any suggestions on how we can use our mason jars? What’s something you’d like to receive in one as a wedding favor?
