Not sure where you and your new spouse should go for a honeymoon? There are many popular destinations that are often recommended—Hawaii, Mexico, and New York—but none of them really speak to you as a couple.
Luckily, there are places in the world that can feel like a perfect fit to celebrate newly married life. Without further ado, here are the best honeymoon destinations for every type of couple.

Wrangell St. Elias National Park is America’s largest national park and is home to the second tallest mountain in the United States. The park’s namesake stands at an impressive 18,008 feet (5,489m). Here you will also be treated with views of azure glacial lakes, towering dormant volcanoes, and over 100 glaciers.
To find spectacular views, you really can’t go wrong in Wrangell St. Elias National Park. There are boundless hiking opportunities, including the arduous 9 mile Bonanza Mine Trail day hike where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the Chugach Mountains, Mt. Blackburn, and the Kennicott Glacier. For a less intense hiking experience, try the relatively flatter 4-mile Root Glacier trail where you’ll see views of Mt. Blackburn, Regal Mountain, and Donaho Peak.

Feel the stress of months of wedding planning melt away in Ambergris Caye. The white warm sand and easy going vibes of the island will add to the loving afterglow of getting married.
The stunning island off the coast of Belize is home to fresh coconuts and Caribbean sunshine. If you get tired of relaxing, you can go snorkeling and enjoy the other-worldly feel of experiencing the world’s second largest coral reef. There are spectacular caves, lush rain forests, and ancient Mayan ruins to explore.
For the Arts and Culture Appreciation Couple: Florence, Italy

You and your new spouse (yay!) have plenty of options for immersing yourself in European culture in Florence. There are 72 museums, including Uffizi, which is the home of the Statue of David and the Birth of Venus. To get a glimpse into the renaissance period outside of a museum, check out Pitti Palace. It dates back to 1458 and the stunning architecture will bring you back in time.
To really feel a part of it all, pick up some local cheese from the fresh air market and head to Boboli Gardens. Enjoy the perfectly manicured space where you can people-watch and enjoy each other’s company for hours.
For the Cozy Cabin Lovers: Banff National Park, Canada

It’s almost cliche to recommend Banff for a cozy cabin getaway, but it’s highly recommended for a reason. It’s truly a quiet getaway, and anywhere you stay will have stunning forest and mountain views.
During the summer, you can take a leisurely walk around the town of Banff and hit up some of the many stores that make fresh candies and fudge. If you and your partner are feeling active, there are plenty of places where you can go canoeing, fishing, and of course, hiking.
In the winter, head to one of the world-class ski resorts and enjoy the fresh powder. Not into strapping pieces of wood to your feet and barreling down a mountain? Take the gondola up to the top of Sulphur Mountain and experience the spectacular views. Once the day is done, come back down to your cozy cabin fireplace for some relaxation and romance.
For the Food and Drink Lovers: Buenos Aires, Argentina
The charming South American city of Buenos Aires is known for its world-class dining and party scene. The famed tango city is home to countless parrillas (steakhouses) that serve massive steaks with huge quantities of cheese as a side dish. If you and your husband get sick of beef, the city is also home to Chef Fernando Rivarola, rated as one of the top chefs in the world. He serves up alligator, llama, and chinchilla.
As for partying, Buenos Aires is truly a city of nightowls. You’ll see many people walking around at midnight getting ice cream and hanging out with friends before the bars open at 2 a.m. For something a little more relaxed, take a wine tour to one the many premium wineries the region.
For the Ultra Romantic Couple: Hvar Island, Croatia
Hvar is an idealistic island that fits every romantic experience you could ever have. Head to Hvar town on the south side of the island to soak in its perfect weather and natural beauty. From there, head to one of the many vineyards for a wine tour.
You can also visit Vrboska on the northern side of the island to see fairytale-like stone bridges connecting both sides of the town. While on the north side, check out Stari Grad (Old Hvar Town) and see its 3rd century renaissance architecture.
