During this uncertain time while the nation is battling the coronavirus, many people are starting to get antsy and bored while under stay at home orders. Especially if you’re a bride-to-be, you may feel seriously stuck as you want to focus on planning your big day but you can only do so much from the confines of your home. While there are certainly ways to get ahead on wedding planning during the quarantine, there are also an abundance of fun, wedding-related ways to pass the time that you may not have thought of.

Have a Wedding Movie Marathon

There are so many great wedding-centric movies out there to binge while you’re quarantined. Consider some of the following: The Wedding Planner, Bride Wars, Something Borrowed, Father of the Bride, The Wedding Date, Made of Honor, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Wedding Crashers, and 27 Dresses. These are just some of many, so get into your comfiest clothes, grab some popcorn, and get watching!

Dive into a Good Book

If a good book is more your thing than watching something on the screen, there are many wedding-related fictional books that will carry you away to a whole new world. Some to consider are The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory, Girls in White Dresses by Jennifer Close, Beautiful Day by Elin Hilderbrand, Brick Lane by Monica Ali, and The Gown by Jennifer Robson. If you can’t make it to a book store during this time of “shelter in place,” no problem! In honor of the “stay at home” movement, the ebook platform Scribd is offering a risk-free 30-day free trial, no credit card information required! This platform allows you access to thousands of ebooks to read on an ereader, tablet, or phone for free.

Focus on Health and Wellness

It’s no secret that planning a wedding can be pretty stressful. Now, couple that with the uncertainty of this virus, and odds are that you may be feeling pretty overwhelmed. To combat those feelings, take this quiet time to really zero in on your health and wellness. Meditate with the Headspace app via their free trial or participate in a home workout. Many fitness platforms are providing free trials during the quarantine, such as Pure Barre on Demand, Peloton, and Obe Fitness.

You can also improve your skincare and beauty routine during this time. Make some at-home face masks, revamp your skincare routine, and even give your groom-to-be some tips for maintaining a healthy glow.

These measures are a fun way to pamper yourself, get the blood pumping, and to release natural endorphins. Plus, anything that helps you look and feel your best in preparation for an upcoming wedding is a plus!

Get Creative

Another way to pass the time in a fun and wedding-related manner while in isolation is to complete some DIY projects. Even if you’re not the craftiest, there are so many ways to get creative. For instance, consider creating a vision board for your wedding, using magazine pictures and words. This will keep your goals and vision at the forefront of your mind throughout the entirety of your wedding planning process.

If you’re looking to take creativity to the next level, you’re in luck. Brit + Co is offering free courses until the end of the month. Join them to learn skills like cake decorating, hand lettering, and digital design. These can all be applicable for wedding planning and beyond, and they’re enjoyable to learn! Who knows—you may even acquire a new hobby.

Journal

Use this time to get all your feelings out on paper. While being engaged can feel like a complete whirlwind of events, planning, social media posts, and congratulatory messages, this quarantine presents a unique opportunity to slow down and take in all the feelings. You will cherish having these thoughts and memories for years to come, as you’ll soon see that being engaged goes by all too quickly!
