Everyone can easily imagine what a bride does on the morning of her wedding: hangs out with her bridesmaids, gets her makeup and hair done, puts on her dress, and spends some time with the wedding photographer. But what does the groom do? The groom and his groomsmen generally have less to take care of prior to the wedding festivities, so they have some flexibility. For that reason, they might as well make it fun! Here’s a few ways they can enjoy their time together pre-ceremony. 1.

1. Sweat out the Nerves

If the groom is athletic, he may enjoy participating in a group fitness class or lifting some weights in the gym with his friends. It will be a great way to bond with his groomsmen, get a workout in, and work off any potential nervous energy before the ceremony begins.

2. Have Some Friendly Competition

The groom may want to do something active besides working out…so how about nine holes of golf? It’s a great way to get outside and do something fun, yet competitive. Other sports the guys can participate in are an archery lessons or a pickup basketball game.

3. Relax by the Beach or Lake

If your wedding location is near the beach or a lake and the weather is nice, why not take advantage of it? Soak up the sun, play a game of volleyball, and enjoy some cocktails all while relaxing to the sound of the waves.

4. Enjoy a Pre-Wedding Lunch

If the guys are looking to do something more chill before the ceremony starts, they can kick back, relax, and enjoy a pre-wedding lunch. This is a great activity that allows grooms to include other important men in their lives such as their dad, new father-in-law, grandfathers, etc. Set this up beforehand and either pick a venue or arrange for catering to be delivered to the groom’s suite so all the men have to do is show up.

5. Embrace Their Inner Child

Your groom may want to embrace his inner child with some of his best friends before he walks down the aisle. Go kart racing or laser tag are popular activities for grooms and their guys who want to have some serious fun before, you know, the real fun begins.

6. Hold a Poker Tournament

How about some friendly competition for the groom and his friends before the wedding officially begins? Setting up a poker tournament is something that’s casual, yet fun as a groom awaits the ceremony. This can be done in the comfort of his own home or hotel room without having to get dressed up or travel anywhere, which makes it ideal.

7. Watch a Movie or Two

Who doesn’t love a movie marathon? Choose some old favorites films and don’t forget popcorn and favorite candy.

8. Relax at a Spa

Who says that spa days are just for the gals? The groom and his guys can spend some time at the spa kicking back and relaxing to conserve energy for the big event. They can get massages, sit in the steam room, or even opt for a facial. A full service spa may even be a good spot for the groom and his groomsmen to get their hair cut or enjoy a shave. Finally, the spa is the perfect place for the groom to tend to his nails, perfecting them for all those close-up ring shots.

9. Visit a Cigar Bar

If it suits the tastes of the groom, visiting a cigar bar is a great way for him to both enjoy himself and bond with his groomsmen. A groom’s wedding day is certainly a special one, so commemorating it with a special cigar and the company of friends will really enhance the festivity of the day.

10. Explore the City

If your wedding takes place in a city, exploring the surroundings is the perfect way to kill time while waiting for the wedding to begin. The guys can check out the local sites, eat cuisine specific to the area, and enjoy the overall atmosphere of a place bound to hold special meaning.

These activities all make for a memorable and special wedding day as the groom waits to walk down the aisle.
