About Us

Historic Drover's Inn is a wedding venue located in New Market, Maryland. Originally established in 1793, this setting adds a bucolic charm to any couple’s special day. Visitors will be welcomed by a dedicated staff and down-to-earth aesthetic to make them feel right at home.

Facilities and Capacity

This venue is a close distance from Washington, DC, Baltimore, Northern Virginia and Frederick, giving your out-of-state guests an easy itinerary. With three stories total, Historic Drover's Inn holds enough space to comfortably seat 125 guests on the main floor. Rustic lounge furniture, exposed wooden beams, and painted brick walls create a vintage aesthetic for soon-to-be-weds to incorporate in their wedding theme. This indoor space is climate-controlled, for visitors’ comfort in any season. Along with the minimalist ceiling lights, large windows surround the space for plenty of natural light. Two get-ready suites are available, one present upstairs, and one offset from the main room. The upstairs dressing suite features a private bathroom, large vanities, and a kitchenette for you and your wedding party to prepare in luxury. The dressing suite on the main floor includes a private bar, poker table, and video games to ease any prenuptial jitters. Parking is available onsite, with wheelchair accessibility to ensure all your guests can enjoy your special day.

Services Offered

Historic Drover’s Inn provides tables, chairs and linens for couples, which can be arranged into any formation they prefer. The dedicated staff brings an all-inclusive experience to each wedding they host, including an onsite event coordinator to ensure their dream day is a reality. You will have a choice of three in-house caterers, who will be ready to customize your menu and create your favorite entrees and hors d’oeuvres. Their team of servers and bartenders will also be present, ready to care for your guest’s needs. In addition, you will have access to a list of their recommended local vendors, from florists to DJs.


This historically-rich building has undergone many changes over the decades, all while preserving its background. It was originally built as a general store, to accommodate any traveling settlers passing through. From there it has been home to various hotels and restaurants over the years, keeping up with its welcoming roots.

  • We were able to host our wedding this fall even with COVID restrictions in place. Dave and Jen are fantastic to work with and made our lives easy planning the wedding, the took care of everything!!! We ended up hosting a small group of 25 family members which the staff here did such a great job handling. The food being made here and provided was so good it’s crazy! The chef in charge has created such great dishes. The Staff the night of our event was first class. We were made completely comfortable even throughout all that has happened and if you enjoy historic downtown New Market, this is your place. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to host a wedding or just an event in general. You won’t be disappointed!
