  • This venue only does weddings to survive. They are unprepared, and the staff and the manager care more about their daily patrons ($10 each), than the wedding party and guests (venue rental greater than $13,000). The venue is run down with little evidence of any repair. There are many rules and restrictions. Access to the house and its history are limited. The "non-refundable" deposit is a joke. After the wedding, this place charges excessively for normal wedding clean up, and basically does not return your deposit. I would not recommend this location for a wedding, avoid the hassle. Go somewhere they are more professional and actually want to do weddings.

We were sorry to read this review. Bonnet House prides itself on being one of the most beautiful and well-organized wedding venues in Fort Lauderdale. Since Bonnet House operates as a venue-only, the caterer is responsible for clean-up after the event. This client hired a caterer that was grossly unprepared to service a wedding at a museum and lacked the staff to clean up afterwards. Bonnet House incurred substantial fees and spent many hours cleaning up debris that the caterer left behind. As the caterer refused to cover the museum's clean up expense, Bonnet House had no alternative but to withhold a portion of the client's security deposit in this case.
