About Us

Embrace your romantic side at the Briarhurst Manor, a venue located in Manitou Springs, Colorado. This fairytale mansion was built in 1876 and all of its charm from its past era has been carefully preserved. Dr. William Bell, the founder of the city of Manitou Springs, was the creator of this lovely estate. It is composed of a gorgeous grained pink sandstone which gives it a castle-like appearance. It also features many elements of Tutor architecture which lend a refined air to the manor giving you an elegant backdrop on your wedding day.

Facilities and Capacity
Couples can host both their wedding ceremony and reception at the stately Briarhurst Manor. There are both outdoor and indoor settings for you to choose from. Couples have five acres on the property to pick their perfect outdoor area in either the lawn or the garden. Outdoors, the wedding party will also be surrounded by scenic mountain views from Pike’s Peak as well as the Fountain Creek on property. Inside the manor, you have two levels filled with nine rooms and two conference/ meeting rooms to choose from. Couples are able to invite up to 199 guests giving you the ability to enjoy many different size weddings on property. If you would like, you are also able to enjoy the entire manor to yourself on your wedding day. However, smaller portions of the manor can also be divided up depending on your needs and budget.

Couples can plan and host not only their ceremony and reception at the Briarhurst Manor, but also their bridal shower, elopement, engagement party, and rehearsal dinner. Planning my wedding with their liaison proved to be more than difficult and it wasn’t due to the pandemic. She had very poor communication skills and could be extremely pushy with her vision of a wedding verve your own. By this I mean we had to fight to have our timeline and vendors; as well as our center pieces being moved around after being set up by our family and coordinator. She is very disorganized and all communication has to be in writing to help you hold her accountable. The food provided at the sample dinner and the food served at the actual event had a noticeable difference in quality. Not to mention food being served late, cold and not enough appetizers for the guests to all have one to enjoy. Their food is amazing so it was very disheartening to have this occur for our guests. Everything is extremely outdated and faded. I realize this is a historical building, but it has an immense amount of potential, however it is not being guided by the right person. The napkins... Read more that were offered to me had been used and washed so many times you could see white threats instead of the green color they should have been. Like a faded work uniform. As a center piece they offer a square or circle mirror with a cheap flakey gold hurricane to put on them as a bonus. The flowers placed around the venue are painfully and very noticeably fake. I understand fake trees but the quality of the fake flowers was hideous. If you’re going for a 90’s theme they have all that you need. We offered an open bar, passed out a numbered amount of tickets to each guest. Yet the amount of tickets used versus what we had left over did not match what we were charged. So I highly do not recommend using a ticket system if you decide to plan with them. We gave specific instructions regarding our cake and that it was to be all served since our bakery makes a 1 year anniversary cake as part of your deal, this instruction was even listed on our event order that was provided to us, yet they did not serve the entire top of our cake. Normally that wouldn’t be an issue; however, we chose a different flavor for each level and specifically informed the liaison of this, so due to their oversight no one was able to have the top tier flavor, wasting $100 of cake. There is no room designated for the bride or groom and wedding party to get ready. You are expected to use main restaurant bathrooms that smell of urine, are very dirty and being used by your guests as they arrive. If I could take back my wedding from ever occurring here, I would in a heart beat. Be very certain this is the venue you want if you chose here, because once that contract is signed they do not allow you to back out COVID restrictions, natural disaster or not. We were told no money will ever be given back, they will only offer to move the date. So even when there was a stay at home order we didn’t have a choice. We chose our date for a reason and the liaison refused to take the pandemic into consideration.
