  • The setting and gardens are beautiful.. but the Administration of the venue is AWFUL!!! They will comply with all your wishes, AT ADDITIONAL COSTS!! Castle Farms took our thousands of dollars in good faith January 2020, then when it came down to the details =$$$$. With Michigan state orders, we were prepared to entertain our guests in a TENT to abide my State restrictions. Only to find out that 5 days before the States restrictions were lifted... other guests could have their event INSIDE AND EXCEED THE GUEST LIMITS FOR INDOOR ENTERTAINING!! You want to use the bridal suite to get ready = EXTRA. You want a golf cart for handicapped guests to use a real bathroom versus their PORT A JOHN outside = EXTRA!! You want to share your venue day with rehearsals and the Castle's revenue generating 'tours' = good luck working around THEIR schedule. You want your signage that you bought for your guests left inside and not put out= GOT it! If you are looking for a stress free venue to have you... Read more

Hi Darla, I’m sorry to hear of your disappointment for your daughter’s wedding. Breanna made a beautiful bride and you truly could feel the love between her and Matt. We were glad to be able to offer a high quality and beautiful tent option for Breanna’s wedding as the latest order had not yet been released with details on the higher indoor capacity, and so we were not able to move your daughter’s wedding indoors. Regarding your concerns about price, we truly include everything we are able to in our initial price point, as not having additional fees is important to us and our clients. The dressing room is included for an agreed upon time when reserving so that we are transparent regarding the timeline for the day of the wedding. As you know, we typically do not utilize porta johns; however, we did opt to bring in a handicap accessible one to place near the tent for those that didn’t want to walk to the indoor restrooms that were available. Once you voiced your concern about guests walking to the indoor location we happily offered the golf cart at no rental fee to accommodate your concerns. The Castle is a beautiful historical site that we feel passionate about sharing with the public, but we also take our couples privacy very seriously and are sure to close to tourists an hour prior to our first event. We do host rehearsals during our open hours so that every couple is able to practice with their coordinator in their courtyard, and we always schedule the rehearsals prior to the courtyard becoming private for the event. Our day of schedule is explained in depth during the reservation process as we don’t ever want to surprise a couple with what will be happening. Regarding the signs for the ceremony, we had the signs placed outside on time; however the wind continued to blow them over and so our coordinator moved them indoors. We do apologize that we did not communicate this with you prior to the ceremony. As soon as the ceremony ended, the venue coordinator explained what had happened and apologized. We then placed the welcome sign out for the guests to see as they headed into the reception space. Our included day of coordinators work very hard to reduce the typical stresses that come with hosting a wedding and we care deeply about each couples experience. I would be absolutely happy to discuss any concerns by phone. You can reach me at [email protected] to set up a time that works best. Sincerely, Rebekah Moser General Manager
