DJ Mike Lujan, owner of Lujan Entertainment, has been DJing weddings for over ten years, but has always been DJing since high school with a huge passion for music and music culture. He combines his love of music and the craft of DJing with his love of providing an amazing and professional DJ service.
Some DJs would be great in the club to provide an energetic dancing experience, but wouldn’t be as professional and efficient as other wedding DJs. On the other side of the coin, some wedding DJs are excellent at planning, sticking to schedule, communicating, and being flexible, but may not be all that great at mixing songs, keeping an exciting music flow going, or properly transitioning without awkward pauses or clashes. DJ Mike Lujan is the best of both worlds: excellent at mixing songs, reading crowds, making great song choices on the fly, and keeping the dance floor packed, all while also being very knowledgable about the ins and outs of weddings, being quick to respond and communicate, adapting to any sudden changes or situations, and expertly utilizing all equipment to ensure that the wedding flows flawlessly. When DJ Mike Lujan succeeds at both of his passions of excellent music and excellent service, it is the ultimate rewarding experience. It’s not just a job to him, but a genuine passion.
Passion for Music:
Born in 1986, Mike grew up with all kinds of music from the 90’s and 2000’s. He is all about keeping the dance floor packed by playing hit after hit after hit from all eras, with technique and finesse. Pop, hip hop, EDM, country, oldies, he knows what to play and when to play it. He also has latino music, everything from today’s hits, reggaeton, salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, and the classics. He can recognize what kind of music will work best with your guests, and DJ Mike Lujan's style of DJing perfectly balances those genres to make sure all of your guests enjoy themselves on the dance floor to the fullest.
He provides top of the line sound equipment, including perfect-sounding QSC loud speakers, QSC subwoofers, mixers, Chauvet dance floor lighting, wireless handheld and headset/lavaliere mics, and a professional Pioneer DJ controller. The microphones are of excellent sound quality, and DJ Mike Lujan is well-experienced with audio-engineering to know how to avoid feedback and low volume speeches. He also brings dance floor lighting that will perfectly light up the room and bring even more energy to the dance floor. His setups are neatly and professionally presented with minimal wire exposure and no tripping hazards.
DJ Mike Lujan has backups for everything: backup computer, backup music on external hard drives, backup wires, backup DJ controller, backup mixer, backup speakers, backup mics. He knows all the common pitfalls when it comes to DJing events and he takes every precaution to avoid them. He comes to your event as early as possible (if multiple setups, even three hours early) to sound check everything properly and troubleshoot if necessary. He does NOT charge for setup time and clean-up time.
DJ Mike Lujan's contracting is extremely fair. Most other DJs have an "act of god" clause that, if something out of their control prevents them from DJing, they still keep the deposit or a portion of the payment. Should something, ANYTHING, prevent him from performing, no matter the condition, you will recieve a full 100% refund of all balances paid, even the deposit. Why pay for a DJ that can't DJ?
Your Personal DJ:
On the day of the wedding, DJ Mike Lujan works closely with the day-of coordinator and photographer to make sure the whole event moves seamlessly. The idea is to make sure you don't have to worry about what time it is or if you're late for cake cutting, just focus on your big day and enjoy yourselves! Mike's planning process is extremely simple and utilizes Google Docs, a way all parties involved can easily view and edit songs and details. Mike stays in touch during the planning process, is able to give suggestions for songs if needed, and leaves his cell phone open to texting and calling for absolutely any questions. Scenario: It's the day before your wedding, and you realize you need to change your First Dance song. Not a problem, just text Mike the name of the new song, and he will have it ready to go. Just consider Mike your personal DJ!
Policies Regarding COVID-19:
When moving forward with out clients, we always prepare a contract. We ask for 25% of the total fee we quoted for, due within one week of the signing of the contract as a form of security deposit. The remaining balance is due by the date of the wedding. However, because of COVID-19 and the uncertainties it brings, we at Lujan Entertainment have some additional policies in place to protect our clients in the event that COVID-19 affects any of our client's weddings or events. All of these policies are in our contracts.
- For weddings that need to have a limited amount of guests and require safety restrictions, we are ready to follow them and. Mike is comfortable DJing for smaller crowds, and we would also be sure to wear masks and keep our distance, or follow the general safety guidelines in place at that time. We also disinfect our equipment, specifically the microphones used between speeches and toasts.
- If you need to reschedule your wedding because of COVID-19, we will do our best to work with you to be sure we can still be your DJ. We would be in constant communication to help in figuring out your new wedding date, and we would let you know what dates we have that are available. Once a new date is determined, your security deposit would still be good for that date, and our services for you would still be reserved for that day. Also, the last payment for our fees would have its due date moved to the new wedding date.
- If at any point (even after the contract signing) you absolutely have to move your wedding to a day that we are NOT available, or if you are in any situation that you can’t use our services, or don’t need our services, then we will immediately refund your deposit payment and all payments made, and our business together will be formally terminated. I would also try to connect you with other DJ’s who I know are good quality. Of course, we would still love to be your DJ, and would do everything in our power to make this happen, but we also want to be fair and consider all possible scenarios.
