Put the sounds of Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, and Bob Dylan in a blender and you'll have something that resembles Eddyville. Their captivating sound is rich in vocal harmonies and heartfelt lyrics.
Eddyville is Jason Nichols (bass), Kyle O'Brien (sax), Darren Reynolds (drums), Dave Young (guitar) and Bruce Zielsdorf (guitar). All members can belt out the vocals so you never know who will be singing lead or ripping out the harmonies. And, you never know how they'll rework or 'Eddyvillize' some of your favorite songs.
Eddyville's debut album, Welcome To Eddyville, is a small, but mighty body of work. Their second album, Pocket Aces, is in the final stages of production and will be available on iTunes in the near future.
So why are they called Eddyville? There are two stories: 1) They had an upcoming gig and didn't have a name. The issue came to a head as they were driving through Eddyville, Oregon. 2) If you add all of the latitudes and longitudes of their birthplaces and divide each by 5, you'll find yourself in Eddyville, Kentucky.
Eddyville's fresh, original and infectious sound is fantastic live. They relax with the crowd and enjoy themselves. As a result they've been captivating audiences in the Pacific Northwest for over a decade.
